• "I can't..." I muttered, walking slowly forward, each time I took a step forward he would take a step back.
"You have to! I'm not what you think I am!" He yelled at me, back up against a tree now. He looked as if he were to cry, but couldn't. "Stay, away." His voice was just as glorious as when he was trying to calm me down, but yet, it sounded like he was trying to hide something from, not just me, but the whole world.
"Taylor..." I sighed, blinking back tears. "I know what you are."
He shook his head. "No! Dammit, no you don't!" He growled trought clenched teeth, his jaw tight.
"I know what you are to me." I said, taking another step forward. I was only one step away from being able to touch him now.
I took the one step, as slowly as I could manage.
"No, Jaymie, don't. Don't do this!" He shut his eyes as I came close and held out my hand to his arm.
My fingers touched his smooth skin, going down his vein, and back up. With out even a sign of movement he had me pinned, my back now against the tree he was just leaning on.
"Jaymie, listen..." He began. His eyes were silvery, like the full moon shining on Crescent Lake in the middle of Spring. And yet, they were soft and gentle, searching mine. "I love you, and thats why we can't be together. Its dangerous. I'm not... I'm not human, Jaymie." Taylor's eyes dropped to the ground, though his iron strong hands held my wrists by my side.
"I knew that. The way your eyes are shine like a brand new nickel, thats how silver they are. Your stength, speed, and your beauty..." I looked down, feeling the blood rushing to my cheeks, making flush a light pink.
"Do you know what I am?" He asked, his voice tight with stress.
    "No."
"For over a hundred years I've lived with other races, and the humans. But I had to keep my secret from every single human, otherwise it could be dangerous." He sounded as if he were starting to mumble to himself. "And here I go, about to tell you it." He shook his head, looking like he was disappointed at himself. Finaly, we looked in to eachother's eyes.
"Jaymie, I'm a Gaurdian Angel. But I have an assignment. To keep you alive and protected." He sighed. "But there's a reason why. You know Cam, right?" He asked.
    "Yeah... Why?"
"Cam is a bad soul. And he's trying to get you to come with him when he destroys the human race."
I cold chill ran up and down my spine. "Why?" That was all I could get out.
He took me in to his arms and held me close, trying to comfort me. "He wants the bad souls to rule over the world." His voice was soft, soothing, and gentle. "I won't let him hurt you. I swear!" He was trmebling, while he spoke in to my hair. "I won't let anything hurt you." He truely sounded as if he were going to cry. "I love you, Jaymie. I know you love Cam too, but you can't trust him."
Tears started streaming down my face, and a weird ripping sound was comming from deep inside my chest.
"Shh. Jaymie, its alright, sweetheart." He soothed me again as the noise came out louder now.
"Come on, lets get you home." But with out waiting for an answer he swept me in to his arms and carried me down the small forest trail that led to my house.
