• || SONNIE’S POV ||

You know those kids who run around in a group, skip classes daily, and hide from the sunlight just so they can get high in the damn alley? Or perhaps you’ve seen them all piled up in a smoke filled car, baking out in there to make their high all that much, well, higher. But when they get out of the car, the car and each of them all smell just like weed. There are quite a few of them at our school.

No one in my group of friends is anything like those kids. Sure, we run around in the group and skip classes, but we all have completely valid reasons. The six of us skip classes because our teachers are complete idiots who haven’t a clue what they’re doing. And we don’t hide in alleys or cars. We happen to hide in Taco Bell, but only because we love the food and everyone who works there knows us by name and what we eat.

The other group is the stoner kids. You can’t really blame us for hating them so damn much. I mean, it’s their dumb asses that give us a bad name, just because we kinda dress the same. Eff that s**t. Wouldn’t you get pissed if you had never even touched the stuff and you were called a stoner? It is just so ********… hypocritical!

We are not stoners! We’re the emo kids…. The freaks. There is no point in denying it since we know what we are so well. We are freaks in every little sense of the word.

Billa was a loner, always kept to himself and constantly had this depressed- nearly suicidal look on his face up until I permanently attached myself to the pretty boys hip like a lost puppy back in the sixth grade. Adeon was a loner himself; he would drink every night, more and more each time. In eighth grade it had gotten so bad that he passed out one night in his living room and nearly died of alcohol poisoning. He was scared to be himself, to be who he really was. Adeon’s gay and his father hated ‘fags’ more then anything else in this world. Damien lived in England for most of his life, a small little town in the middle of nowhere. He got sent here to live with his aunt after his parents found out he was the one who started the fire in their shed out back. He hadn’t done it on purpose; he had dropped the match that was in his hand from burning his own arm. He was gay himself, but he was ashamed of it at the time.

Randy always had this odd obsession with guns up until two years ago. He was playing with his dads’ pistol one day; we were all in the back yard with him. He was showing off, shooting pop cans off cardboard boxes. None of us saw it coming, the gun jammed and he was trying to fix it, it went off and nearly killed him. The bullet missed his heart by an inch. Ryann is still quite till this day, he always has been. But he fit in well with us; he’s a writer. And although most of his stuff- well, all of it- is depressing, it’s really, really good. And then there’s me… the twin sister of a stoner who has more scars then any of us can count from when I had cut myself.

Ugh, the damn stoners though! I wish they would all just go smoke some bad weed and simply, die. Abigail included.

“Sonnie Rae!” Randy snapped at me, putting his feet up on one of the free chairs, “Go get me a coke, would ya?”

“Randy, just because I'm a girl, does not make me your slave. Get off your lazy ******** a** and get it yourself.” I snapped at him. We were at Taco Bell, as per usual, skipping our forth and fifth hours. The first three of the new semester had left me in a foul mood worse then my usual one. I was never in a good mood to begin with, but idiotic teachers almost always just made it worse.

Randy rolled his eyes at me, looking at Ryann with a pout as Bill groaned. “Damnit you guys, I think its about time that we go.” He said, brushing one of the blonde streaks of hair from his face.

“Why?” Damien asked, reaching over the table and grabbing my taco in front of me before shoving the whole thing in his mouth. I blanched and he talked with his mouth still half full of food, “We have another half hour before Francis’ class.”

“Stoners are back,” Bill said quietly, his eyes glaring daggers into the group who had just walked in.

I rolled my eyes, not wanting to believe a damn word he said. “They are n- oh god ******** me! I hate those damn kids!” I hissed, looking over my shoulder and glared at each and every one of them. Nothing was worse then my sister and her stupid a** friends in Taco Bell. No one knew that Abbie and I were sisters, let alone twins. And the both of us were very content on keeping it that way.

“Oh man, Tomi… I am so damn hungry! Dude, go get me a taco. No, no two of them! Oh! Oh! Oh! And some nachos! Some of those cinnamon snacky thingy’s. And three quesadillas! Oh wait, no! No quesadillas, three crunch wrap Supremes instead. And no tomatoes on any of it!”

    “Okay… that it?”

“And a large pop.” Abbie nodded at him, smiling at him oh-so-happily. Ew. My sister and her friends were absolutely disgusting.

“Jesus in hell, Abbie, where the hell do you put all that s**t?” Alex asked, laughing at his friend. Sadly, I knew each of them. Alex, Tom, Colin, Jason, and Matt. Abbie knew all my friends names as well, but I doubt her fried brain could tell you who was who.

“Oh, that’s easy Lexy!” She said with a high giggle and I buried my face on Bill’s shoulder so I didn’t have to look at them, “I put it in my mouth, and I taste the yummy flavour, and I swallow! Just like that!”

“Abbie, you’re going to need to repeat your order for me. I totally forgot what I was getting.” I heard Tom talking now and I bit onto Bill’s shoulder so I wouldn’t scream in my frustration. He yelped and pushed me away from him, forcing me to look back towards the stoners.

Abbie was ignoring Tom and dancing to the music coming from the speakers, some cover by My Chemical Romance, with Alex and Jason dancing all to close to her. God, my sisters a whore! I saw Alex push Jason away and he wrapped his arms around Abbie’s middle and she laughed, “Alex!” her voice was almost squealed, “Save it for your girlfriend, man.”

Alex frowned, looking longingly at Abbie, “I don’t have a girlfriend…”

“And you wonder why?” I whispered to Bill.

“Come on guys, let’s get out of here.” Bill said, laughing at my statement as he stood up. Randy, Ryann, Damien, and Adeon all nodded in agreement and I just scowled.

“Leave it to the ******** stoners to ruin Taco Bell…” I muttered, taking the hand that Bill offered to me.

“They really can’t be all that bad, Sonnie Rae,” Adeon said, tossing his empty cup into the trash.

I wrinkled my nose, raising a brow at him, “As if, Adeon! Listen to me, all of you. They’re ******** losers, all of them. And I'm sure little miss dancer over there is really just as whorey as she seems. I mean, look at her! She hangs around with five guys.” I said matter of factly.

My friends all looked at each other before looking at me like I had grown an extra head or something. “Uhm… Sonnie… poppit. Maybe you’ve never realized this before, but we’re all guys.” Damien said.

I waved my hand as though what he said meant absolutely nothing at all. And in a weird way, to me at least, it really didn’t matter. “But you and Adeon are gay, so really, it doesn’t count. You guys are like girls anyways.” I claimed, adding my own logic into the situation. There was no point fighting with what I said was true. They all learned that over the years.

We walked to the exit, I didn’t want to leave yet, but staying here with them was not an option.

“Look Abbie! The freaks came out to play!” Jason said with a lopsided grin covering over his face.

I felt Bill wrap his hand around my wrist as I turned around to snap at them, “Do you have something to say to me, stoner?”

Jason looked to look at my twin sister as she took a step towards me, her eyes glazed over and a smirk on her face, “What’s wrong, freak-girl? Did Jason hurt your wittle feelings?” Abbie asked me in her mocking, baby voice tone.

“Not as much as my fist is gonna hurt your face.” I snapped at her, taking a step closer so I was staring directly into eyes that were exactly like mine, just more glassed over then my own were. And sure, it was completely cliché to say that, but it was true. I would gladly punch Abbie in that wannabe me face, even if I was the younger of us.

    “Is that a treat, cutter?”

“That’s a promise,” More clichés, oh wow, I'm on a roll today.

“Sonnie, come on, let’s get out of here.” Adeon said, pulling the back of my shirt to get me away from Abbie.

“Yeah, freaks, this is our spot now, so run along.” Colin said with a laugh

Abbie laughed along with him, “Yeah, freaks, disperse from this area!” She said, waving her hands like a rajah who was done with his servants.

It was Bill’s turn to snap, eyes glaring as heatedly as mine were, “Why don’t the six of you just smoke some more weed, and blow yourselves.”

“Sure! As soon as you freaks run to the corners with your teddy bears and razor blades.” Abbie giggled.

“She did not just say that!” I yelled, dropping my messenger bag to the ground and lunging for my sister. Bill stopped me, holding me tightly around my waist so I couldn’t get any further away from him, “Let me go, Bill Trumper! I'm going to kick that stoner whores a**!”

“Did the freak just call me a whore?” Abbie asked the others.

    “Yeah…” Matt said.

“I think she did,” Colin finished.

“No freakin’ way!” Abbie yelped, handing her drink to Colin and jumped at me. Tom quickly grabbed Abbie around her waist before she could get anywhere either.

“Dread-head! Keep your girlfriend under control,” Matt said, holding me tighter as I started kicking at him to break free. I wasn’t exactly the tallest girl; actually, I was pretty damn short. But I was far from weak.

“She’s not my girlfriend,” Tom told Bill, but his eyes were locked on me as I continued to try and break free from my best friend.

“Trumper, let me go! I'm going to kick all of their asses!” I yelled, digging my nails into Bill’s hands.

“******** s**t, faerie boy. Why don’t you keep your little cutter under control?” Tom said with a smirk, apparently figuring out a way to hit a soft spot on me.

“Oh ******** this s**t, Damien, hold her!” Bill snapped, pushing me into the arms of our gay English friend, “I'm going to kick this kids as myself.”

Tom let Abbie go and pushed her into Matt’s arms instead, who easily held my whore sister close to him, “You have a problem with me, faerie boy?”

“Yeah, dread-head, I do.” Bill said, pushing him hard in the chest and actually making the wannabe gangster fall a few steps backwards.

Though that didn’t faze the stoner too much, nor did the fact that even if Bill far from looked it, he could kick this kids a**. He stepped forward and pushed Bill back, “Bring it, buddy.”

Bill rolled his eyes, hardly moving when he was pushed since he wasn’t blown and easily tackled the high kid in oversized clothes to the ground. He was sitting on top of him; manicured fingers balled into a tight fist and went to punch him.

Though just before Bill’s hand collided with Tom’s face, Abbie broke free from Matt’s possessive hold and she tackled Bill off of Tom. “Leave him alone!” She shrieked.

“Get off of him!” I yelled at her, stepping hard on Damien’s foot, scuffing his shoe to make him let me go so I could attack her off of Bill. Abbie shouldn’t even go near any of my friends, especially Bill. I would kill her for it.

    “Sonnie Rae!” Bill yelped.

    “Abigail Marie!” Tom laughed.

I could hardly register anything that happened after that though. Not for that next ten minutes at least. All I really knew was that the four of us were rolling around on the dirty Taco Bell floor like a bunch of kids in a ball pit at McDonalds. I hardly heard the people working yelling for us to stop. We were kicking, punching, and puling the hair of whomever we could reach, not caring if it was one of our own or not. And by the time we were all running out of breath, Tom had pinned me down to the ground and was sitting on my hips with my hands held tightly above my head. He was staring at me with wide eyes- almost disbelief.

“BILLA!” I yelped, turning my face away from Tom, “Get the stoner off of me!” I cried to my best friend, I did not like this for so many different reasons.

Bill was busy though; he had pinned down the stoner girl and was on her hips, her hands stuck to her sides. His eyes held the same disbelieving look Tom’s had only a moment before and I gulped back some, “Billa!” I yelped.

“Dread-head,” he almost sounded threatening, “Let her go.”

“L-Let Abbie go first!” Tom demanded, moving a bit when I started to squirm under him, which only made him unconsciously grind his hips directly into mine.

“OH HOLY HELL, BILL!” I screamed.

“No, no! It’s fine, Tomi. Really it is. He doesn’t have to move at all. I'm quite fond of him on top of me like this,” Abbie said with a high giggle.

Bill scoffed and rolled his eyes before he let Abbie’s arms go and got off of her. He stood up and grabbed Tom by the back of his oversized shirt and tugged him off of me and helped me up from the ground. I brushed off my pants and ran my fingers through my thick died hair that had come down from the pony during the battle.

“Can we go now, Sonnie?” Ryann asked, holding my bag out to me.

I bit at my lip, pulling one of my snakebites between my teeth before nodding and pulling my bag onto my shoulder. “Yeah… let’s go.” I muttered, tucking my hair behind my ear.
