• Furka’s Confection



    (Curtains open to a snowy village scene. The Moon is full on this romantic night as the snow silently fell from the sky, as if to say “let us ease your mind”. Namane was staying at the Snowy Valley Inn, she had come there to meet with her old friends; Furka and Kitoi. Namane was standing on the balcony of her room, looking up at the moon and bathing in its beams. The balcony out looks the village and the lights of village glows like the stars in the sky.)

    Namane: (sighs) Oh wow. There’s something about the moon… its so… magical.

    (Namane gazes up at the moon and smile)

    Namane: To bad I couldn’t get a hold of Furka and Kitoi, but they are guardians of this village.

    (There’s a knock at Namane’s room’s door)

    Namane: (glances back at the door) come in! (Looks back up at the moon)

    (Furka enters the room, he gazes at Namane as if she was a goddess in the Moon’s light. Namane ears twitches and she looks over her shoulder to see who entered the room.)

    Furka: (Wags tails a little) Namane…. Its been a long time, Lass.

    Namane: (Turns to Furka, wags tail a little and smiles) Furka I missed you. How are you and Kitoi?

    Furka: (Walks out to the balcony were Namanestands) Aye, we’re both good. Guarding the village is a chore but, we as werewolves guard well.

    Namane: (leans back on the balcony railing) that’s good to hear. Things in Avlear are going good; we’re still trying to find out more the Maidens Of Mana. (Sighs) Since I am one.

    Furka: (gazes at Namane) Oh aye, you are indeed a fair maiden.

    Namane: (quickly looks at Furka) Huh?

    Furka: (looks down) err…um... Nothing.

    Namane: (turns back to the Moon and gazes at it) … Its funny…..

    Furka: (looks at Namane) Huh, what’s funny?

    Namane: I’m used to seeing you in your Wolf form when the moon is full.

    Furka: Well I am a full fledged were wolf, so I can keep my human form during the full moon.

    (Furka walk up next to Namane and leans on the balcony railing and looks up at the moon)

    Namane: (giggles and looks at Furka) Its great that I can talk with you again.

    Furka: (Glances over at Namane and Blushes) Y….Yeah….

    Namane: (looks at the falling snow) the snow, it’s so beautiful, I just love it.

    Furka: (Slide closer to Namane) I…If you are cold…I can-

    Namane: (Eyes widen a little) Um, its okay. (Slides away from Furka a little) Remember I’m half Fox, my fur keeps me warm.

    Furka: (sighs) Namane… My feelings for you haven’t changed.

    Namane: (shocked) but what about you and Kitoi?!

    Furka: (looks down) I only love her as a friend.

    Namane: Furka I told you many of times before. I only love Lul. (Looks away from Furka)

    Furka: (Walks over to Namane and looks at her) Namane, The way I feel about you….I cannot change it. (Gently places a hand on Namane’s cheek and rubs a little)

    Namane: (Bats away Furka’s hand) Maybe it was a mistake seeing you! (looks at Furka with anger in eyes) I told you I’m engaged with Lul.

    Furka: (puts hand to side and looks at Namane with sad eyes) what makes him so special?

    Namane: (places hand on heart) He is my first love….. And my only one.

    Furka: (Looks Namane in the eyes) Namane… if he is your first love then, what makes you sure he is the one?

    Namane: (looks away form Furka) I just Know (begins to walk into room)

    Furka: (walks out in front of Namane and blocks her way back into her room.) Back in Joilant (looks at Namane) that ball you and Lul went to…

    Namane: (backs away a little) Please don’t bring up old stuff…

    Furka: (walks up to Namane) you and me….. We almost kissed.

    Namane: (Backs up into the railing of the balcony) Furka, Please stop. (turns head away from Furka)

    Furka: (Walks up close to Namane) Don’t fight it (places hand on Namane face and turns her face to his and looks her in the eyes) You have feelings for me.

    (Namane looks Furka in the eyes. Furka and Namane are face to face.)

    Namane: I…. I.. I.. (Slowly leans in to kiss Furka)

    Furka: (Slowly leans in to kiss Namane)

    (Namane and Furka are inches away from touching lips)

    Namane: (whispers) …. Lul…. (eyes shot open) NO! (pushes Furka away) NO! NO! NO! LUL! LUL! LUL! I ONLY LOVE LUL!

    Furka: (steps back) But…..

    Namane: Furka I love you, but only as a friend. (Looks at Furka with disappointment)

    Furka: (Looks at Namane with sadness) I…I still love you.. I can’t change that. (Leaves room quietly)

    Namane: (wraps herself up in her arms) We… (looks up at the moon) Furka…We used to be such good friends. Why can’t we just stay like that.
