• Jacob held his breath. What had just happened? He had never been so stunned, so alone. He felt mushy, aggravated, all those things. Jacob could describe all these feelings with one simple word- wow.
He couldn't swallow either. The stinging words were draining down his ears like mollases. The words he longed to say were stabbing at his throat.
He could easily see that Katy's death could've been stopped. The doctors just stood there, shaking their brainless heads. How could they be so selfish? So arrogant? They just couldn't have tried to keep her heart going for one more second so he could say 'I love you' one more time?!
Jacob slowly lowered Katy's limp body on the hospital bed. Tears streamed down his icy cold cheeks. He looked up at that criminal monitor that had told Jacob his daughter was dead. Nothing. Just a single line on a blank graph. he bowed his head and silently started crying again.
Then he heard a strong and steady rythym of beeps. he looked up. Could it be? Nah.... The beeps got faster and stronger. Could Katy actually have come back to life?!
