• Victor grabbed me and said, “I need to tell you something. My name isn’t Victor its Damon Slueth. I had to keep my identity safe because my mother and father are immortal too. I didn’t know I was too.” I staggered back. I didn’t know what to make of it. I opened my mouth and closed it. I shook my head and finally said, “…

“How…you lied. You told me…you told me your name was Victor … you said you lived with your uncle…how could you…” I was tired of all this. I didn’t want to be this emotional. He stepped a little closer to me. I stepped back. He kept walking I kept backing up. I didn’t want him to touch me he was about to speak but I cut him off, “Stay away from me!” He kept walking and he said, “Jayne, I’m sorry but I do have my-” I cut him off by yelling, “DADDY!” I sounded like a little girl lost in a sea of people. I heard footsteps. I tripped over the rug and fell on the floor. I started crying. I heard the footsteps stop behind me. Damon stopped and said, “I do live with my uncle, now. My parents live in Alaska. I had a brother named Victor, he died three years ago.” A sob broke through my chest. I started panting, trying to catch my breathe. He continued, “I took his name so I couldn’t be…found. Or hurt. Or something. But I found you and I care about you-” I didn’t interrupt him. My father gathered me in his arms, he hugged me like I was a little girl again. It was like the time I thought there was a monster under my bed. He sat on my bed and hugged me til I fell asleep. Now he was hugging me to protect me. He interrupted Damon by yelling, “Shut your mouth. You’ve hurt her more than enough. Just shut up and get out!” My tears soaked my dad’s shirt. He rubbed my back and shushed me. He whispered to me, “Its okay little movie, its okay.” I cried out, “No! Its not! I’ve been lied to…you’re going to leave me again.”
“Yes, but you need to be strong. I…I’ll let you follow me. I’ll buy you a house. I’ll come and visit, write, and call. You are going to be fine.” I tried to stop crying, I hiccupped and after a few minutes I finally stopped. I stood up and I looked at my dad and said, “I’m glad you’re alive, I missed you.” He smiled and put his arms around me and kissed my head and he said in my hair, “I watched over you.” He put me at an arms length and said, “Go talk to Damon, he is a good kid. I’ve known his family for a while.” I nodded and started walking out. My dad called to me, “I’ll leave my number for you, I’m leaving tonight.” I nodded and kept walking. I saw my aunt and uncle loading a body into a car. They turned around and saw someone ermerging from their house. Time went still. I was able to walk. I walked to my aunt and asked, “How?” She let go of the feet and turned around and spoke, “ Being immortal gives you certain powers. Slowing or freezing time, some get abnormal powers, and well we don’t die. I’ve got to go.” She turned around and started to open her car door.
“Wait, how does one become immortal?”
She shut the door and rolled down the window and said, “When you’re suppose to die, you are frozen in your age. Its like a vampire without having to drink blood. Now if you’re looking for Damon he is done by the ocean. I’ll unfreeze the time once we are out of sight. So run.” I nodded and started running. I loved running, it was the one thing that helped you escape almost everything. Once I was at the beach I saw Damon. He was in the water. He went under water and didn’t come up. I panicked and ran to were he was. He came up he shook his head and held his head. I stopped at the edge and remembered what my aunt had said about when you’re near death you become and immortal. I came to the edge of water and said, “Are you shocked you’re alive?”
    “Yeah. Do you know why?”
“Turn around.” He turned. He walked out of the water and came towards me. The air was tense. He stopped at the shallow end of the water. I thought if I really liked him, then I . wouldn’t care if he lied about his name… since he had a reason that made since. I came to a conclusion that I liked him enough to not care. I ran to him, he opened his arms to embrace me. The waves crashed on us. After a couple minutes he asked, “Why am I still alive?”
“Lets take a walk.” He nodded and took my hand when we were walking on the sidewalk I told him, “You’re an idiot, when you try or are about to die and you have the dominating gene of immorality you kind of are frozen in your age. So now you’re immortal and I’m not.”
He laughed and grabbed me by the waist and said, “Lets throw you in front of a car.” He swung me and I laughed out, “No.”
He set me down and we laughed. I asked him a question as I sat on the rail that was above the beach, “I wonder if I would actually survive if I just let go.” He had a panicked look but then he laughed and said, “You wouldn’t.”
I gave a sinister look and said, “Try me.”….
