• The Maxwell House Part 4
    Rubies

    (Daniel)

Kara had her prey locked in her arms. She cradled him like he was an infant. Her voice was a soft musical whisper as she sang to him. Kara was known as the Sieren of Blood in her castle. This was because she always sang to her victims before killing them for their blood. Her closest friend Daniel thought it was cruel, for by the time she sang to them they where already shaking with Terror.

“Rubies, sweet rubies, May you sleep now, May you drip sweet rubies in your sleep. My sweet little prey, Let me whisk you away, into sweet red bliss.” Kara crooned then bit down on his kneck.

Daniel watched as Kara’s victim struggled, trying to free himself. His struggling became less and less until he was pale and stiff. Unlike Kara, Daniel prefered to kill quickly, before his victims knew what was happening. Sometimes it scared him, how easy it was the lure a human into the trap, Especially the women. They thought he was charming, handsom, kind. It was all just a game to Kara but for Daniel it seemed to be so much more. It was a story, a tale of the hunter and the hunted. And no matter how much Daniel hated himself for it sometimes there was never a period at the end of the story. Just another chapter, and another blood splattered page that was his life. He remembered each one of his victims in clear detail. He didn’t know if it was his photographic memory or just the guilt of the kill. Whatever it was right now his latest victim was imprinting herself into Daniels memory, never to be forgotten.
