• Shadow looked out the window, he saw the metal beginning to cave in on the car. He grabbed Dire, hugging her to his chest, protecting her from the glass and metal, instinctively. The car rolled for a while, before it finally came to a stop, wheels in the air. It was freezing now, the windows were broken, the cold air assaulted them quickly. They laid there for a moment, before he asked her, his voice coming in labored gasps. "Milady...are...are you hurt?" he looked at her. The car had been hit by something big, not a car, but most likely an animal..of sorts...The car was almost collapsed on itself, it would have squished her, if he hadn't have moved her.

"N-no... I-I'm fine..."she looked up at him, then shoved her face in his chest.

He held her and smiled "Shh..it's alright, we're okay, your going to be fine..." he was wounded, badly, but he didn't want her to know that..not now..

Dire was crying, she thought she was going to die. But, she wasn't crying as hard as she usually would, for some reason, she felt safe in his arms.

He lightly patted her back, calming her. He started to hum the tune again. It, for some reason, had always had a calming effect on people. He was smiling. "It's okay..."

She sniffled and stopped crying, "..." she just sat there.

The snow started to pile up in the car. He looked, she would die from the frostbite, he had to do something, so he did what he could for the moment. He unzipped his coat and put it around her, still holding her against his chest, so she was in his jacket. She would be warm, warm enough until they figured something out. All while he continued to hum.

Dire looked up at him, she wanted to say something, but she couldn't bring herself to say it. She smiled and hugged him.

He hugged her as well, "Don't worry, Dire, it's going to be alright" he looked outside the window, only seeing white. He knew it would be awhile before someone found them, so he grabbed a blanket from the back and wrapped it around them, so it mainly covered her, but he didn't care. He could deal with the cold, with the injury, as long as she was safe.

She mumbled something to herself, something she'd never said before, then she smiled.

He leaned back against the car window, trying to block anymore cold from coming in. He leaned her against him. He winced slightly, hoping she wouldn't take notice.

She looked up at him, then looked through the broken window,"..." she started humming.

He smiled and hummed with her, rubbing her back gently. It was warm in the jacket, well, warmer than outside of course. He felt himself almost drifting off, he remembered telling her he only need to sleep when he was hurt. He resisted sleep as much as possible, he would sleep when she fell asleep.

She smiled and kept humming. She wouldn't admit it, but she wanted to stay like that forever, just, sitting there in a freezing blizzard with a blanket, a ruined car, and Shadow.

He murmured to her quietly, "You can go to sleep if you want, I'll make sure nothing happens..."

"...O-OK..."she slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep.
