In a time of advanced philosophy and technology, there will always be a downside; a bit of a medieval aspect in this particular case. There are four kingdoms; Spointeck, Mivoton, Hosak, and Contarta. They are ruled by kings and queens, who each have their own views on how the sexes and mystical creatures (werewolves, vampires, dragons and the like) are to be treated. But one –ism, generates another, which brings forth another…
Contarta is where someone would go if they are truly seeking equal treatment, but the kingdom is sickly and not very powerful when it comes to their military. But their business like nature has allowed them to accumulate large sums of money; everyone is wealthy.
Mivoton is women dominated; the men do all the work and the women are pampered. The men, even though they are looked down upon, see the women as goddesses for they are the ones who carry the life. They believe that is the only work a woman should have to do. The kingdom is rich beyond what anyone can imagine. The cats and dragons are slaves. The werewolves are kicked off their land in the process.
Hosak has the opposite approach; women aren’t worth the trouble. They are to stay home, take care of the children, worship the ground the men stand on, and do as they are told. Because Hosak spends so much time educating their men, their military is something to fear. They also worship mystical creatures. There are none in the kingdom, unfortunately. None can be found and Mivoton refuses to share the information. Only diamonds and pearls can be found, which is how their realm is maintained.
Spointeck would be wealthier if their queen would cease the bribes and personal pleasures; mostly for her daughters. Spointeck is the mix of the notions, though they currently hold Hosak’s viewpoint. It makes sense; Hosak and Spointeck have a treaty. It is to counterattack Mivoton and Contarta’s alliance. (Contarta merely receives medicine in exchange for obedience.) Spointeck is where this tale shall begin.
One of the main problems in Spointeck is the king. He is stupid, but his father, who cannot be trusted and is the main reason for the sexism, made him that way. The king believes women can do no evil, and his father capitalized on that. The king trusts everything his wife says; not realizing the man he does not trust trained her from birth. She is his father and it has not been realized. But it soon shall.
Sitting in a tree, surrounded by leaves to obstruct, outside the king’s bedroom window and waiting for the evil wife to leave for her “meeting” so the king can be alone. Eyes close as the king is getting ready for bed. A hand is put in a coat pocket for the disks as a light switch is flipped. Eyes open to see the king climbing into bed. Standing when the king is in a deep sleep, then walking to the end of the tree branch, opening the window, and climbing in. The king does not stir.
The disks in the pocket are set on the king’s desk, by the computer, in a certain arrangement. Then, a large box is pulled out of an inside coat pocket. Thankfully, the pocket is an infallible pit because of enchantments. Thankfully, the weight from the many objects is not felt. A lot of people, specifically the rich, are getting them these days.
Climbing out the window, then pulling a hand sized rock out of another pocket and chucking it at the king before jumping out of the tree. The king catches the rock as running starts after the landing.
The king sits up and looks at his hand, stunned. On the rock are the words “Look at your desk.” He does to see a large box sitting on his chair. He looks at the window to see it is open, although he could have sworn it was locked when he went to bed. He eyes the box, vigilantly, before he shoves off the blankets. He touches the box tentatively before he picks it up and shakes it; nothing. He begins to open it.
Inside are a bunch of papers. The paper at the top says, “Look at the disks,” with an arrow underneath. When he follows the arrow, he sees disks numbered one to four. He moves the box, setting it on the floor, and sits down before grabbing the first disk. When he puts the disk into the computer, he stares at the screen... he gasps. Death. All the deaths from the past week are on that disk. It is horrific.
“The death information, as in the weekly deaths, Mistress Evil gave you was incorrect.” a metallic voice reports from the computer. “She changed it so you wouldn’t do anything about it.” –the king sits back in his chair, dumbfounded– “She has been raised to think the laws now set in place are eliminating competition. If the other women can’t do s**t, then she and her daughters will be the best. She gets to go around bragging about the fact she has the rights of a man when, in reality, that is the stupidest thing in the world to brag about. She should be saying, ‘I am a woman with equal rights to a man,’ not bragging that she is a man with breasts and a womb.
“Every single woman on this list was raped, but only half of them died from it. The rest are married women, between the ages of fourteen and sixteen, who committed suicide. No one believed them when they said they were raped. Unfortunately, in this day and age, that was the smartest thing they could have done.
“I’m sure you noticed there are only two men on this list. Those two men were killed by yours truly for rape. They had killed six women in the past week. Those particular women are on this list. They are circled in red.
“The second disk contains every law passed since you got married to the evil b***h. They are all s**t women CAN’T do unless they, quote, have the rights of a man, unquote.” –the king’s eyes widen– “And, before you carry on, I just have a simple question for you.
“You don’t trust your father, which is the wisest decision you have made since you were born, but why would you trust a girl your father introduced you to?” –the king stares at the screen, not looking at anything in particular, feeling like a jackass– “Why would you believe anything that woman, who is acting on behalf of your father, says? Why would you take any bit of information from her, your father? Why would you sign anything she, your father, puts into your hands without reading it first? You are a damn fool.”
The king quickly removes the disk and grabs the next one. The sight is even more dreadful.
A woman is not to travel on her own under penalty of death.
A woman cannot travel without the permission of her father/husband under penalty of death.
If a woman is given an order, she is to follow without complaint under penalty of death
Any wife who refuses sexual activity is immediately sentenced to death.
The list goes on and it’s even more gruesome. The King changes the laws instantaneously and sends them to his legislatures to pass. Rape is not legal. Beating a woman is not legal. At the bottom of the list of laws is a list of crimes his wife committed. When he reaches the bottom, the metallic voice returns saying, “Now that we are on the laws, I have another question. Who gave your wife and daughters the idea they were above the law?” –anger replaces horror– “I thought you told them, constantly, to lead by example? They must be getting the idea from someone else. Look inside the box, please.” –he does so– “Inside are proofs that your eldest daughter has been having others do her homework for her for the past three years. No one said anything because she is the princess; crown princess, excuse me.” –the King chuckles– “I have, personally, sent in the proofs. She’ll be running into the room, in about five minutes, saying she was just kicked out of college. I wonder why?” –the King is looking at all of his daughter’s homework assignments; she’s stupid for not recopying the answers onto another sheet of paper– “She thought she would never get in trouble, so she didn’t bother copying.
“Your youngest daughter goes around stealing anything she thinks is pretty. A list of what she has stolen resides underneath the last of your daughter’s homework assignments.” –the King finds packets of papers with pictures of items– “Your wife’s crimes have already been told to you along with covering up your daughters’ behavior.
“Since I happen to be a fan of girls and women receiving a full education, I requested to the school board that your eldest be able to repeat the three grades she cheated in to teach her a lesson. They complied.” –the King blinks in amazement– “There is a nonsexist and non favoring school for each of your children to attend. It shall alter their behavior. I’ve done half the work. It’s your decision to finish.”
Loud knocking comes as the decision is made. The King stands as the disk ejects. He pulls the necessary paperwork out of the box. The knocking gets louder. He begins to fill out the forms as the door opens. He looks over his shoulder to see his upset eldest daughter and his equally as upset wife.
“Why didn’t you answer?” his daughter asks as he sets the papers for his eldest into a stack. “I just got a phone call from the school board saying I’ve been kicked out of college!”
“Because you were cheating on your homework assignments for the past three years.” The King replies as he finishes the paperwork for his youngest and his wife and daughter stare at him. “You are going back to your junior year of high school. And you are going to a school I am deciding for you. You are using your schedule from before.”
“What?” his wife and daughter ask at the same time, still staring.
“The youngest is being transferred as well for stealing.” The King continues as the paperwork is placed into the folders provided. “This is your last chance.” –he glares at her over his shoulder and she flinches– “Do NOT screw it up!”
“I’m not sure I understand.” his wife says and he looks away. “What is the problem?”
“The problem,” The King snaps as he turns and glares at her, making her flinch, “is that you and your daughters think you are above the law! We are leading by example!”
“Who cares?” she snaps back as she crosses her arms. “And what can anyone do about it?”
“You’ll find out next week when our daughters return home from their first day of school!”
Maids are standing outside the bedroom door, beaming. The royal family is going to change! They rush to their bedrooms and grab their telephones and cell phones to spread the news…
