Maline looked at her charge and asked politely, "What do you require Dina?"
"I require nothing, but to see a garden. I feel so alone cut off from the earth." She said sadly.
"Well then, we must remedy that." was the happy reply.
Maline took her by the arm and led her down several expansive corridors, and down winding staircases. As they passed the Great Hall, Dina over heard Burk talking to some of his knights and servants. "Yes, indeed she is lovely. Dina must be the most enticing woman in my Uncles lands. It is no wonder that she agreed to wed me. A beauty such as her must have a strong, handsome man to rein her in. And break her in too." Burk told them.
She heard them laugh and make lewd comments about what they would do to her if they were him. She continued to walk with her hand maid and soon they came to a door. "Prepare to be enchanted." Maline warned, and opened the door.
Light poured in through the doorway and Dina stepped into paradise. Roses, jasmine, lavender, lilac, babys breath, and many more lay neatly in a well maintained grass garden. Fruit trees blossmed wonderously, adding to the array of amazing colors. Dina stood in awe as she drunk in the beauty. Off to the side, she even saw a small herb garden, beakoning to her. "I see you've found the garden." Burk announced as he strode towards her. "I had hoped you'd like it."
Maline bowed deeply as he passed her. "Yes my Lord. I do. It is truly beautiful." Was Dinas' response.
Burk felt happy knowing that she loved it. "It is my gift to my betrothed. Cherish it."
"I shall." she said.
As Maline watched them talk she couldnt help but wonder if maybe Dina could soften Burks heart...
