she woke up with a jolt. what was that noise and was it outside or in her dream. as if to answer her question the noise repeated outside her balcony door.it sounded like a twig snapping as someone or something stepped on it.
another twig snapped and it was followed by another sound. it sounded as if a wolf was howling in pain but it wasn't a wolf or any other animal she'd heard. and it was right outside her balcony door. she turned on her lamp.
she called out to her parents in a shaking voice. and then she saw the figure. the figure with unnatural green eyes. she froze in terror. it was on her balcony. it was a tall person whose face was invisible except for the eyes which were glowing from the light from her bedside lamp.
then she blinked. and the person was gone. in his place was a large wolflike animal with horns like a demon. and it was throwing itself at the glass door with loud thuds.
it broke with a crash and leapt through the opening into the room. just after it landed on the floor it jumped at her and landed on top of her. it stood over her and started to snap at her throat. her dad came running into her room with his shotgun just in time for two more wolf creatures to jump through the shattered door. he started to shoot at them.
all the while the girl was screaming. pure terror filled shrieks. just when the wolf leaned over her throat to tear it out, she heard in her head, a male filled with sadness and self-hatred saying, "i'm sorry but this is how it must be."
and with that, the wolf's jaws closed around the girl's throat and the screaming and gunshots ended.
