Wet. Something was wet. My hand came to my face. Tears? I didn't cry the entire time we've been gone, but now I do? I wiped them away and looked ahead. My 'sister' was a few paces ahead of me. Satan know, I love her. We found out that I was adopted, so I guess our love is true. Father is still a bit skeptical about it, but mother understands... I think. It's hard to tell what she thinks. I don't even know if she loves us. Well, she loves Kat, but I think she's a bit weary of me because I'm not her flesh and blood. Kat stopped in front of me. was something wrong? She bent down and picked some flowers and stood back up. I visibly untensed and kept walking. I passed her, her soft footsteps soon started up again, not attempting to pass me. My name is Diro, before i forget. Her name is Kat, in case you didn't figure that one out yet. If you're just realizing that, you're a moron. Well, you're only human. Ah well. where was I? Ah, a few questions maybe on your mortal minds, such as; where are we? How did we get here? You're probably waiting for me to come right out and answer your stunningly original questions. That would ruin the story, now wouldn't it? Now the question is; where do I begin? Oh yes, the Tower would be where the most important things happened. It had to be.. ten years ago.
I stood at the bottom of what I dubbed the "Tower". I felt lost without Kat beside me. I shifted from one foot to the other, grinning. This was the end of my training. I knew that if I messed this up, my mind would be lost to the Darkness. They didn't teach us what the Darkness was, but it sounded bad. I was waiting for my instructor to say "begin". I turned to look, there wasn't a soul in sight. I turned back to the Tower. I guess it's up to me to guide myself. Cool, I guess. I timidly took a step forward, the energy of this place was nauseating. I pushed on the large, Catherine style doors that were at least five times my height. They didn't budge. I pulled. Nothing. I knocked on one of the doors, it seemed solid. Taking a step back, I gathered my energy and focused it to my right hand. I threw the punch, this would surely-thump- I only suceeded in hurting myself. "Ow... stupid bloody door won't bloody open." I grumbled. I heard a loud click and the doors swung slowly inward. I walked into the tall building, the doors snapping shut behind me. I half anticipated that. I thought the energy outside was bad, in here it was worse. Coughing, I tread through the darkness. Why was it dark again? My.. head is foggy.i suddenly felt tired, my body growing heavy, my eyelids drooping, and my head started tingling. Must.. not fall asleep. I kept walking, ignoring the protest my body was giving. The Tower was not going to win. I have to keep my mind from the Darkness. I felt along the wall. The first floor seemed to be a maze. No, left, left, right, straight, left, straight, straight, left, will not work... I tried. After an hour, I felt like I had been going in circles. Who knows? I probably was. I had never been without sight. This is what being blind must feel like. I'm a blind rat in a maze created by humans. If that was the case, my other senses should lead me to the cheese. Ugg.. so tired. A minute or two of rest couldn't hurt, could it? I leaned against one of the walls, unsure of where I was just going. reason tells me to keep going, but my body is shutting down. Stay... awake.. blackness. I don't know how much time had passed. it was too dark to judge. I felt the change almost immediately. At the time I didn't know. I should say I felt different, and I had a sense of change. I blinked my eyes open. Still dark, but I was aware of where I was. I no longer felt hyper, either. I didn't feel anything. As the grogginess passed, I noticed faint blue lines around me. Curious, I touched one. It was a wall. Wha? I rubbed my eyes. the blue lines now showed a bit of texture. I started walking again, the maze getting more and more irritating. Maybe I wasn't ready for this. Maybe I should have trained more. I suddenly didn't feel well, my body felt like it was on fire. Ignoring it, I walked on through the darkness. There had to be a way out... but where? My vision, be as weird as it was, was steadily improving. Now i think of it, you're probably wondering where and what I am. Where I am is simple, The Divide. It's just before the human world, but not quite the demon realm. What I am is a bit more complicated. I am a rare race of demon called Fayth Auzurath. Only one of us can exist at one time. Aging cannot kill us, like the mighty Fayth Azaraths (Immortals). However we can be killed if our brain and heart are destroyed simultaneously. Our common ability would be rapid regeneration. Indiividually, we have different abilities, we don't fully achieve them until we complete our training. Coughing, I stumbled forward. The energy of this place seemed to be effecting me. I wondered around for what felt like eternity. Te darkness, fitting as it was, was maddening. The blue lines were also maddening. Showing me the way, but I keep ending back up where I started after I woke up. I leaned against the oh-so-familiar wall and sighed heavily. How long have I been here? I began to think I was never going to get out of there. I'd die in this maze, on the verge of madness. I began to ponder why I was doing this. To help in the war between dimensions. Without counting the sub-dimensions, and the human realm, there are over fifty. Three of them are crosses. One, where I live, has every race in it. Almost always at war. That's why I'm here, to aid in the war. A pointless war, all that would be gained was more bloodshed. Oh well. I started walking again, knowing full well that I'd end back up where I just left. Maybe this time will be different, maybe I'll find the exit, or where I came in. An hour or so later, I was back in the same hall I just left. "Sorna dreis bashen" I grumbled in my native tongue. I felt a strange surge from deep within my stomach. then, I felt nothing but a dull warmth spreading through my being. i felt as if I were fading away, melting into nothing. I closed my eyes, taking in the feeling. I felt air brush my silver hair out of my face. Opening my eyes, I saw, instead of the blue lines that was the Tower, a field spanning endlessly in all directions. Where was I? I started to stand when the field turned a gray color and appeared burned. A low fog spread masking the ground. "Sara, Diro." a voice welcomed me. "Sai kar rie?" i asked in a defensive position. A chuckled stirred the fog. "Fayth Auzurath" came the calm reply. I blinked. The response confused me. I shook my head. "Kor sa Fayth Auzurath" I felt a presence shake its head. "Vie korna kar." Darkness came out of the fog. It appeared to be forming a body. It stood low to the ground, hands out in front of it, in a feral position. Red eyes stared pit from the face and a mouth formed that resembled a jagged gash. Fangs seemed to be part of the mouth, but the shadows made it hard to tell. In a way, it was dog-like, tail included. The demon stood up, hunched down a bit with his claws about a foot away from its sides. Its jagged mouth was pulled back in a sneer, it obviously hadn't been in a physical body in a while. "Kor sa dasen Fayth. reis sash dara." it said. I blinked and took a step back. "Draskara" I murmured. I shook my head violently. "No! That's not possible, it goes against everything I've learned!" I shouted. the demon, grotesque as it looked, calmly shook its head side=to-side. It almost seemed compassionate. "Kor sa rei" it said. I growled at the demon, flexing my claws and stiffening my legs. I lunged at it, snarling. I twisted my body, in a clumsy windmill kick. To my surprise, the demon did the same. The two kicks hit each other stopping them. I spun, closing my fist. It connected with the demon's. Everything I did, the demon did back, we had been playing bloody knuckles for about three minutes and I was tired and my knuckles were crushed. the demon didn't even seemed phased by any of it. I went to punch, but stumbled and got punched in the face. I fell back, sputtering, it was definably stronger then I was. "Draskara ai quo drak." it-I-whatever said. I felt the bones in my knuckles refit together and the skin do the same. I looked over my hand, making a fist and releasing it twice. "can you get me through the maze" I asked. It-I-whatever nodded. that was the best news I'd gotten all day (assuming that I was there for three days because of how fast time is here). However, I felt there was a catch. there was always something left unsaid. I was excited, but didn't show it, but somehow, I think it knew. "Reis cha ai Diro. rai kar sasen Auzurath. Kor sa dasen Fayth. Kornosa, vie dorsa Fayth Auzurath. Da fasen fo qursan, ti sar kursa fie b(squiggly a)s." it said. I didn't want to say it, but deep down inside my being, I knew it... the Fayth was right. "Sorna ai reis cha?" I asked. It took a moment for the Fayth to reply. It was almost as if it were trying to think of a name. Shifting around, the Fayth finally replied. "Oni" it said simply. The name caught me by surprise. It meant damnation. "What's the catch?" I asked. Oni shook his head with a growling sigh. "Sorna nie fashnur rei." he said. "Fashnur rei dasn basen vri." he sounded sincere. I had to say yes, or I'd never get through the maze. I'd say yes to anything to get out of it.

- Go Oni-kun! The only thing I can think of to ask is, why don't you replace the "B (with a squiggly)" with a B with a squiggly? ...Nya?~
