• Chapter 5
    I won't Kill

The next I walked in the school later than usual. The minute I walked in, I found Steven and Maria. I walked over to them, and gave them a serious stare, I walked by and said, "Come, we need to talk."

After we had went far down into the freshmen hall, and into the library, we sat at a table. "Whats going on Karion?" Maria asked

"You want to to tell the letter to my dad means?"

"Uh-oh... Ermmmm.... Look man we're we lied. My dad is sorry and our father and Maria and I both know your father is sorry. But he didn't want you to know because he didn't want you to end up in that life."

"Okay...Oh-friggin-kay! So my father caring about my future and lying to me to keep me safe, exicutes the fact that, he has killed people!"

"Look here, my father is in this buisness too, you call your dad a killer, you call ours on too. They kill for reason. They kill for the uncontrolled force called karma. Thats why your name is Karion, I mean karma- Karion. But listen, don't say he is a killer, that can go to toward my dad too, and also...Maria and I."

    "What?! Your kidding right?"

"I wish we were" Maria said, without a blink.

"I'm sorry for judging you guys. Friends?"

"Oh, wow, you think we wouldn't be friends because of some little remark, of course we are still friends." Maria says.

Later that day, I was home. I stayed up late that night, because, I needed to wait for my dad to get home. Then finally he walked in.

    "Karion? Karion, you're still awake?"

"Yeah, I mean, I wanted to talk to you, I mean we never talk at all. Anyways, I met some kids that gave me a letter to give to you. Maria and Steven, they say their dad works with you. Anyways I put the letter on the table, did you read it?"

"Yeah, it was about work." He said, while putting his diner in the microwave.

Well atleast he hasn't lying, the letter was about work. "Well, I don't invade privacy, but, I took a look at the letter."

He took a very deep breath.

"Dad, I'm sorry, I don't judge you for it. I just hated that you lied, even if it was for my greater good. I wouldn't have wondered why I ate so many t.v. diners by myself and why I had to learn how to cook at the age of five."

"I'm not angry, I knew one day I would have to tell you or you'd find out. And yes, I never told you for your good. I was only thinking about you. Now most kids have to become a assassin, if they have the assassin gene. If you never knew you had it, then you'd never be one, and never see what I saw, and what I saw at five, was worse then you cooking for yourself at five."

"Dad, how long have you had to be in the buisness?"

"Twenty-six years. I don't want you to join, son. I would be proud of what you would become, 'cause I know you'd be very athletic and skilled. I don't want you to look at a man with a line on his throat and blood gushing out of it."

"Dad, I don't want to join. But, then again.... Dad, remember when I was ten or so and I beat up that kid? Well the yesterday, I beat up three kids, by myself, breaking a nose, knocking one out, and really messing one up. If I don't use this talent, I could continue to hurt other kids."

"I see the problem, son.", he said sitting at the table, with spaggetti in his mouth "Okay, you've got your shot, this will drain some of that energy of yours down, making your gene know, you've been active enough. This could lead to a shotdown of the genes effection to your body for a few days, that is why we assassins do mission every other week, other than that, we make sure one man is safe and guiding him through his job."

"Okay, but dad, I don't want to kill anyone."

'Haha! Son, you must train first. Then your mission, but I'll make sure you don't kill and I'll assassinate. You will just watch my back, after training, you won't care to kill someone who is shooting you. And after killing the men that want you dead, you won't have a problem assassinating the main target. Tomorrow I'll take you to practice,"
