• The trees were very still, even when they were being blown by the wind. Nanako was watching the trees. The young girl was sitting on a bench. She closed her eyes for a brief moment. She heard something, “Nanako!” Nanako turned her head and saw Saki. Saki was her Co-worker. She was the Navigator in the agency Nanako worked for. She stays behind in HQ and directs and identifies the youkai that appears. It’s not really as easy as it sounds. Saki’s hair was shoulder length, it was brown. Saki usually kept her hair in a ponytail. Her eyes were a dark brown. Saki wears glasses; she’s blind without them, round glasses.
“Nanako, here!” Nanako looked at what Saki was holding out to her, it was an ice cream cone; Chocolate ice cream. Nanako blushed and took the ice cream, “Thank you Saki…” Saki sat beside Nanako on the bench. She had her own ice cream. The flavor was strawberry. Nanako was licking her ice cream. She was in the third year of middle school. Nanako’s hair was neck length and black, her eyes were blue, a light blue. In the light, her eyes are a pale blue.
“Hey, hey, hey!” Nanako and Saki turned their heads. A man in his 20’s; short brown hair and light brown eyes. It was Touya, “Onee-chan, how you doing?” Nanako gave off a bad vibe. Saki smiled nervously, “I told him to stop... Guess he didn’t listen, huh?”
“Guess not…” Nanako sighed, shaking her head.

The three were sitting on the bench, just eating ice cream. Saki sighed. Nanako turned her head to Saki, “What’s wrong?” Saki looked depressed, “This is our only day off for another month or so…” Nanako thought, “I guess you’re right.”
“But still,” Touya started, “It’s our job to do this. We can’t really say no, even if it means hurting civilians.”
“Hmm… You guys got it so hard… You actually have to do the killing and whatnot.” Saki muttered.
“Huh? What do you mean…? I’m the one who does the killing! Touya isn’t even in sight most of the time!” Nanako blurted out.
“Most of the time! I’ve been on the scene more than one time!” Touya argued.
“Yeah, but I’m always there! Always!” Nanako and Touya started quarrelling with Saki smiling in the back. A normal day it was indeed.

It was 9 o’ clock in the night. Nanako was cleaning up her room a little bit. Nanako’s cell phone suddenly rang. Nanako picked up.
    “Section-F; rank-C youkai, Kubikajiri!”
“I’ll be there.” Nanako hung up. Nanako put on her scarf and opened her windows. Nanako grabbed Haikaitou and jumped out her window.

Nanako was in a back alley. Section-F was in the area near Kotohira-gu. A shrine that was in Toranomon, Minato. Nanako could hear foot steps. Nanako turned around. A body was on the floor. Nanako rushed over to the body. It was a body of a man. Nanako examined the body, and noticed something. The head was missing. There was only the neck and lower, the head was ripped off. It was truly an act of a Kubikajiri. Nanako heard groaning and the sound of liquid dripping onto the floor. Nanako turned her head; it was a male Kubikajiri, the Kubikajiri that was reported. Nanako raised her blade over her head and slashed at the Kubikajiri, but she missed. Nanako had to be cautious, or else her head would be gone. The Kubikajiri lunged at Nanako. Nanako’s reaction to the lunge was quick. She moved to the side, bringing her blade that was to her side, quickly launching it at the Kubikajiri, slicing it into half. Nanako could feel blood splashing onto her face. There was a headless yurei that’s now on the floor in two. Nanako was sure it was dead and safe to approach. Nanako stabbed her blade into the ground and walked over to it. She hung her head, “I’m sorry for your loss.” The Kubikajiri suddenly vanished, and the blood of the Kubikajiri also vanished. What remained, was a headless man. Nanako’s phone rang. Nanako picked up, “Hello?”
“Nanako, is it over?” It was Saki.
    “Hmm... Yeah.”
    “What was the total damage?”
“No major damage. Section-F is clear. But, someone did die.”
    “Oh my…”
“He died when I arrived here.”
“Do you see his head in sight?”
    “Not at all…”
“All right. Good work, Nana, you’re dismissed.”
“Understood.” Nanako hung up and started walking towards her home. It was a normal day for her. Normal mornings, and normal nights.
