The caravan had left the girl and her father at their destination before continuing on its path. Standing in the small clearing amidst a warm, humid jungle the pair faced the witch doctor who claimed he could undo the damages caused by the wicked Mind Mages.
The ancient man began his work, waving about a withered cane of gnarled wood and polished bone. The girl watched her father, laying unconscious in the man's hut, as his face tweaked in and out of various positions. His body showed signs of obvious discomfort and his limbs began to twitch. His eyes, lids shut tight, thrashed wildly as his mind relived everything it had lost and as suddenly as the ritual had started it was over.
Sitting upright and clutching his head, the girl watched as his eyes opened and where once there were simple pupils now swirled a vortex of shades from red to blue. Opening and closing his hands out before him, a faint haze began to swirl about him, slowly engulfing his entire being.
The girl watched in amazement as her father recalled the full might of his power and, to her terrifying amazement, watched as the vibrant shades of blue began to warp and distort towards an ever darker hue before finally settling in the darkest of pitch. Her father, to her discovery, was much more than the stories had ever eluded.
"Take my hand, and I will explain everything." Timidly, cautiously with good reason, the girl reached out to the man she believed was her father, and as quickly as her palm met his, her feet met the familiar earth of her home.
"Now, where's your mother? I would like to explain with her present."

Description:
Another part in my little tale of 'walkers from that beloved card game of mine. In this one we see the red/blue mage get his mind back and his daughter gets to meet her dad for the first time in her young life. But, now that he's himself, does she really want to know this man?
In regards to my goal of a short story a day; my kidneys, my job hunt, my school work (or rather lack thereof) and my social life got in the way. - Date: 05/06/2010
