• It happened when I was ten years old, the thing that changed my life. My transformation into a monster...But wait I should back up a bit, explain how and why it even happened, in the first place.

I was walking home from the park one day, tired, and ready to hit they hay. I walked down the dark street and past several dark ally ways. I thought I heard someone following me and quickened my pace. I turned a corner taking a rather long detour in hopes of losing this person who was following me. But I still heard those footsteps behind me so I broke into a flat out run. I pounded down the sidewalk and made a sharp turn into an ally which I knew would lead me back to my house. I turned around to see whether the person was still following me, but the abruptness of my turn, through off my balance and I fell backwards onto my butt. I looked around and didn't see anyone there. I let out a sigh of relief and let my head fall back onto the cold stones of the ally. I closed my eyes and thanked god that I got out of that situation quickly. Suddenly I felt something heavy hit me in the chest. I gasped at the loss of air from the blow and my eyes snapped open. I screamed. Standing above me was a giant werewolf. It was about eight feet tall and judging by the weight of it when it hit me, it weighed about 600 pounds. I quickly jumped up and turned to run but the beast lashed out and struck me. I hit the ground again, hard and hit my head against the stone. I felt the blood blossom from the back of my head and started to feel my energy fail me as the werewolf struck me again across the face and I blacked out...

I woke up on my bed with a splitting pain in the back of my head. I got up and walked into the bathroom. I rubbed the back of my head and looked in the mirror. I gasped at what I saw. I had a giant stitch across my neck, which ran from my ear to my shoulder. My head was suddenly filled with the memories of what happened to me last night. The werewolf attacking me on, my way home from the park. The fight I had with my mother that same morning came rushing back into my head. She had refused to extend my curfew because she didn’t want me out late. She said there was no reason why an eleven year old needs a 10:00 curfew. Now I wished I had listened to her instead of staying out anyway. Now I see what she meant when she said she was worried about my safety. I was lucky to even be alive when I thought about it. I heard how werewolves like to rip out the throats of their victims. I shuddered at the thought. “Remus!” I heard my mother call from the living room. “Coming mom!” I called back. I took one more look in the mirror before going downstairs. When I got there I saw a man with white hair and a white beard in the living room. “Remus, this is headmaster Dumbledore from Hogwarts.” She said. “Hello, Remus” Dumbledore said. I felt a sort of power emanating from the headmaster. It was clear he was a powerful wizard, more powerful than my father and mother combined probably. “Your mother was telling me about what happened to you last night. She said she saw a werewolf attacking you. Am I right?” he said, I nodded. “Well your mother wanted to know whether or not you’d still be able to attend Hogwarts, so what I want to ask you is, do you still want to attend?” Of course I still wanted to attend! Who wouldn’t? “Yes sir.” I replied respectfully. “Very well then, if you still wish to attend then I will speak to the other professors and see what we can do to accommodate you, we have never had a werewolf attend Hogwarts before.” He said. He turned to my mother and handed a vile full of green liquid, “This should take care of that scar on his neck.” He said. He took a handful of floo powder and threw it into the chimney and disappeared into the floo system. I turned to my mother, “why’d you tell him I got attacked by a werewolf?” I asked accusingly. “I didn’t tell him, he just came to the house unannounced and apparently already knew.” She said. I groaned and flopped onto the couch. Great, I thought, what if I don’t get into Hogwarts because of this? And what did he mean they’ve never had a werewolf before? Does that mean I’m going to turn into one? Oh no that’s the last thing I wanted to happen….
