Dappled sunlight shifted through the trees as I pranced across the prickly grass, circling Moonpaw. There was a glint in his eyes, filled with determination. I could tell that he wanted to push his claws into my face right then and there. The staring continued as I heard a rustling in the background. Rustyfur appeared, one of Moonpaw's own. I gulped, knowing I was in big trouble now. There was only one of me and two of them, and they were likely stronger. Moonpaw swiftly leaped over the river to my side, smelling my fear.
"Long time, no see," he said, with a smirk appearing on his face. "I've been waiting for this."
What, so he could see the blood spill out of me? Not going to let that happen, I though to myself. I could tell from the look on his face what he was about to say.
"Go ahead, take the first move," he said respectfully.
"I'd be glad to." Rustyfur shot up next to Moonpaw as fast as lightning.
