As the old car puttered to a hult neared the curb of the castle like school, there was a uneasy feeling in the pit of Zoey's stomach. She focused on getting her thing together, instead of letting the overwhelming size of the school frighten her. You would think I should be use to this feeling by now, but just because I'm an expert on the whole "new kid thing", doesn't mean that it makes it any easier on me. Being the new kid meant a lot of diffrent things, but there were only three mayjor ones that came to mind. First of all, she would not know on singal soul there. Second, she would not know where any of here classes where. Third, and most importantly, she didn't no what was cool here and what was not.Ugh! was all that came to mind when she thought about it.
For her "first day at a new school outfit", she choose to wear her dark blue long-sleeved, v-neck shirt that showed of what little curves she had. She pair that with her favorite pair of blue jeans, and to tie it all together, she wore a silver snowflake necklace(that her mother got here when she was five). She thought that this outfit was a appropriate to wear for her first day of school at Casper High School. When she had mad sure she had everything, she pulled out the tiny old fashion mirror she always carried, and made sure her make-up and hair was fine. She could see her blonde hair fall in lose, messy curls around her heart shaped face. She never like her curly hair because she could never get it to do anyhting else. She wasn't the kind of girl to wear a lot of make-up, so today she just outlined her eyes in a black liner, and put some brown eyeshadow on to make her blue eyes pop. Alright, she thought I have stalled long enough, She gave herself one last glance in the mirror and thought Well this is as good as it gets, I guess I better face my fears. She shoved the mirror into her over stuffed backpack and open the creaky door to her dads old car, and finally glimpsed at the school. God this place is huge and old. She was in deep thought wondering how she was going to find her way around when she heard her dad say."Zoeybear, I know that this is hard for you. It even hard for me, but we both have to get through it, together."
Stepping out in to the cold October morning, Zoey tryed to tune her dads words out. Gosh, she didn't even want to look at him (let alone talk), so she just start toward the school. She had a firm grip on the snowflake hanging arounder her neck, and was fighting back the tears that theatened to escape . How could her father except her to "Get through it". They had just move from there warm, sunny, home in L.A., to this small town in England. She had to drop everything in her life(again), just cause her dads work wanted him to move out here. She didn't care about any of that, she could feel the tears spill over and leave a salty wet paths down her face for the fiifth time that morning. She need to get as far away from him as possible. I need to clear my head. She was in such a rush to put some distance between her and her dad, that she didn't care that she didn't know where she was heading. She was in a hurry to get somewhere, anywhere but out here where everyone could she her crying. She now found herself climbing a steep staircase, that she could fainly see lead to the front doors of the school. She could barly see anything because of her tears. So when she finally managed to stumble up to the top and take a few step toward the double doors, she ran right in to him.
It was like hitting a wall made of bricks that caused Zoey stumble backwards. She was so scared she was going to fall down the steps, that she closed her eyes in antisipation of the pain. It all happened so fast that she did register the strong, warm hands that griping her by the wrists and pulled her to something warm and safe. When she finally opened her eyes she was staring up at a man, no a teenager about 16 (her age!). He had jat black hair that was about to his perfect eybrows. He had a nice strong chin and a straight nose. When she finally found his eyes, her breathe caught in her throat. At first Zoey thought she had imagened the color of them. They were the most beautyful eyes she had ever seen, it was like looking in to two perfect amethyst purple gems . In all my other schools never have I ever come across anyone with purple eyes. Zoey's body was now aware of the closeness of him, there bodies were smushed together. She could feel his breath wash acrossed her face and wished she could melt right there in his arms. They stayed like that for several minutes, neither one saying a word. She was just about to say thank you to him when she heard the annoying ring of the first warning bell. She felt the strong grip of his hands slid off her wrists and fall to his side. She felt the heat of his body leave makeing hers feel cold and empty . In the blink of an eye he was rush toward the front door to the school. When he was finally out of sight their was no one else out there, leaving Zoey standing in the court yard of the school, alone.
