• The silent, snowy night was disturbed by the sound of bullets chasing his prey. Footsteps in the dim moonlight, the sound of a hundred men, but there were only ten men and a teenage girl. Her heart drummed quickly and loudly against her rib cage, but she dared show no fear. In her hands were two cold-blooded guns waiting to kill. They were heavy, silver, and deadly if the triggers were to be pulled.
She jumped off a roof and crashed into windows of an abandoned building as her hair shine like obsidian. The glass window she broke through sliced her clothes and arms. She landed gracefully onto her feet and glanced back. She pulled on both of her guns’ triggers, killing five men with three bullets. The other five men crashed into the glass window as she continued to run. Bullets were suddenly aiming for her legs and feet. One bullet made a nasty hole in her right shoulder. She winced but paced herself in order to lose the bullets and men. Then she headed for the streets.
A cloud of smoke came out between her rose pale lips as she inhaled the crispy air. Lights shined on her pale, beautiful blood-covered skin. She looked back and the men were gone. She then suddenly bumped into someone's arms.
"Oh dear. Are you alright, my dearest Lorelei?" a familiar man's voice asked. "You look horrible. A mess!" Lorelei looked up in shock and delight. Yes! Her savior was here! Then she heard three gun shots. Warm, red liquid seeped... oozed in a way, from her stomach. Her savior held his gun to her stomach as he smiled at her. "Good night, my love," he whispered and pulled the trigger once more.
Lorelei was pushed backward away from him by the force of the gunfire. She heard his footsteps getting more distant. She didn't dare to close her eyes, but they grew heavy. Both of Lorelei's hands still held tightly to her gun's trigger. She had enough strength to give just one shot, but the feelings in her chest he had given her prevented her effort. She couldn't kill him; she still loved him, even if death was already waiting to make her his bride.
Her eyes had begun to blur, but she saw four small black furry paws in front of her. The cat meowed and licked her cold cheeks. It's gentle, strong golden eyes stared into her dark sapphire eyes. She heard footsteps running towards her, but they were too slow, Lorelei was already cold and stiff. No breath escaped her lips anymore.

"Lorelei...," a soft velvet voice called out to her. "Open your eyes..." Lorelei opened her tired eyes. In front of her was the same cat that had licked her before she died. It tilted its head and its cat eyes grew narrow like he was smiling at her. A quick, violet aura warped the cat and where it once stood into a handsome man. His hair was slick, black and it looked so soft, like cat's fur. His eyes glowed gentle topaz gold. His smirk was sly, yet adorable.
"Who...," Lorelei gazed at him silently, "Am I not dead?" she whispered.
"I'm Loki. Yes, you are dead." he shifted his hand over to her, reaching out for her hand. Lorelei didn't move, but looked around herself; it was dark, gloomy, and unfriendly.
"Is this hell?" she questioned sadly. Loki broke into a laugh. It felt warm and homely to her.
"Dear god, no! You are still in the human world," he smiled tenderly after chuckling. Lorelei stared at her feet, like she was about to cry. She remembered everything that happened a moment ago freshly. She felt a warm hand touch her cold murdering soul. "I'll grant you three wishes, Lorelei." Loki revealed. Lorelei snapped her head up in surprise.
"R-really..?" Loki nodded and held up one finger as if to say on one condition. "Anything...?"
"Anything," he assured her, "but no more wishes and as long as it is really what your heart wishes." Lorelei thought about it. She wanted to live again; not just that but to be immortal.
"No, there's another catch to this isn't there?" she then added, "You want something from me, I know you do."
"No catch; I just pity your death. Your death caused from your lover's hand is just so tragic to a god's heart." Loki chuckled and grinned. "I'll grant you to be immortal and forever young." Lorelei just gazed at him with wide eyes and he laughed. "It's what your heart wants most."
"I-I don't need the least of your pity," she spitted out quickly. "I was ready to die. The death god made his choice to take me to the after life." Lorelei turned away from Loki.
"And I can make the choice to take you back to the human world." Loki brushed her cheek with his hand.
"Then grant it," she demanded without hesitating.
"Before I do so, I can't honestly make you immortal," Lorelei was about to talk back but he added, "You will be immortal... by killing your loved ones. Everyone has life spans and you can cut a bit of theirs off and add it on to yours. When your life span runs short, I'll warn you."
    "And if I don’t have a loved one?" she questioned but Loki just replied;
"Oh, you will and many of them... If not, you will die."

    Forty years later.
Lorelei held tightly to her trigger that was pointed at her best friend’s forehead. The girl pleaded, begged, and cried for Lorelei not to kill her. The night was cold and it was raining heavily. Lorelei didn't listen; she just smiled and fired her gun onto her friend's lovely forehead. Lorelei sheathed her gun and walked away. Loki jumped down from the roof top and onto Lorelei's shoulder.
"Two years of life span gained." Loki noted her, "May you please hurry into that bar to your left. My lovely fur coat is getting drenched.” Lorelei glanced at his cat eyes and then turned away. "You still have two more wishes waiting to be used," he advised with a yawn.
"I know." Lorelei assured him as she walked into the night bar Loki suggested. It was packed with young adults and adults. The air was heavily dense with tobacco and the place was bright unlike many other bars.
"Make the next ones already. You bored me for forty years." he complained annoyingly.
"I can only make wishes my heart wants most," she announced as she sat on a stool and ordered a brandy and warm, sweetened milk for Loki.
"Ah, but you had many heart wishes. All you need to do is say ‘I wish’, and I will grant it," he mewed and licked up his milk that was given to him in a bowl. Lorelei sat quietly in her seat. Suddenly warm salted water rolled down her cheek and dripped into her brandy. Each year she makes a new friend and each two or three years, one or more die from her hands. Is being immortal worth it if everyone you love around you dies? Especially if you have to kill them? Lorelei thought about it always and every time she took her loved one's lives. It had been going on since the day she made the wish to be immortal.
Even so, she didn't want to be like that man that killed her the night before she met Loki. He was looking into her eyes filled with so much love and warmth but within seconds, her lifeless body hit the ground and shattered like glass. No. No, she isn't like that man that killed her. She loves her victims with all her heart.
Lorelei always warned them not to get close to her, not to love her. In the end, her lovers and friends only faced one fate, just one road. Lorelei hid her new colored eyes of ruby lush red to her sapphire lusting blue that leaked annoying liquid. Her white beautiful bangs that hid her eyelashes were brushed and tucked behind her ear. The glassy obsidian color of the rest of her hair was pulled into a pony tails.
Her smooth, long, cared-for hair swayed around as she pulled out her gun in front of a person's mouth for touching her shoulder. She was so deep in thought that when someone touched her shoulder, her reflexes automatically popped up.
"Oh..." the man held his hands up as everyone inside the bar pointed their guns at her. Even the bartender had her gun out. Lorelei was quickly out numbered and Loki chuckled. The man quickly motioned his hand for them to withdraw their weapons, and they did. Lorelei turned away, placing her gun onto the table.
Lorelei took a peek at the male and quickly away. He was absolutely handsome. His cheekbones were beautifully sculpted and high. His eyes were colored hazel nuts and a dash of evergreen. His hair were a striking, caramel chocolate, brown and choppy. He had a semi-built body. “H-Hyde…” she whispered in a surprised.
Lorelei remembered a little boy from back when he was only five. He was glued to her and wouldn't let her leave. She met Hyde in an orphanage while she was the orphanage keeper. It was to get her life span boosted up easily as Loki suggested. She killed one by one and in many ways to make it look like an accident. Children could give her life as much as up to ten years. When the orphans grew few, she was accused to be killing the children herself. Therefore, it leaded her to be executed.
Hyde loved Lorelei more than his toy truck given to him by his father. He was very clingy and Lorelei loved him so much that she would not end his life. The last day, she 'died' and left him when he was ten and crying badly.
“You know me?” he then restated, "Do I know you?" Lorelei died a few times so her appearance change more and more inhuman than she already is. He couldn't make out that she was the Lorelei whom he was so clingy to long ago. Lorelei just looked away from Hyde.
"Some sort of pick up line you’re using on me?" she pointed out with the cup of brandy in front of her lips. She didn't think she'd meet him again. Dear god, please don't let him be killed by my hand or anyone else's, she thought while sipping her brandy.
"No, of course not. It's just you said my... Never mind." Hyde shook his head and held his drink in his left hand. He sighed and looked terribly upset, like he was brokenhearted.
"Something wrong?" Lorelei couldn't help but ask and now she regret it so.
"Kinda. Love problems, you know?" he managed to laugh. "And you? Why were you crying?"
"I was not crying," she said haughtily, turning her back against him. He smiled a bit at her hard-to-get attitude. "So, what kind of love problems are you dealing with?" She then added, “Not that I really care." Hyde had an awkward smile on his perfect, handsomely chiseled face.
Stubborn, he thought. "I just got out of a relationship. I loved her a lot but... my friends didn't like her. Nor did she like them either." he smiled faintly at his drink. He then turned towards her, "My friends always told me not to devote my whole life to her, but I couldn’t help it. I wanted to show her that I cared for her. She's the love of my life."
Lorelei knew how he felt only to put one person into your heart and block out all of the others that didn't count as much. Everyone counted though, but Lorelei never knew that until she had lost her closest friends. "You still have your friend, right?" Lorelei mumbled.
"What? Oh, of course! Everyone in here is friends and family," he grinned like the little boy she used to know so well. "I'm actually the leader of a group called L'Arc-en-Ciel. It‘s a group of orphans, runaways, juveniles. I teach everyone in my group right from wrong. A lot of the adults my age teach other things too."
    "L'Arc-en-Ciel..." she repeated slowly.
"It means ‘The Rainbow’ in French," he informed her. Lorelei gazed at him. Yes, that's right. He loved watching the rainbow appeared and disappear after a rainstorm.
Hyde was traumatized whenever there was a storm. His parents died because of a heavy rainstorm. Their car ran off a mountain side but only Hyde survived the tragic accident. When he walked through the doors of Lorelei's orphanage, he kept himself isolated. It rained for a month straight and then he went insane. Hyde torn up the feather filled pillows, ripped the wall paper off the walls, and cut the bed sheets. He also smashed glass cups and broken plates. Therefore the orphans nicknamed him “Jekyll” because he was nothing like Hyde.
Lorelei didn't punish him when he snapped. She held him tightly and silently. Then he cried. He sobbed so much and constantly apologized for what he did. He told her he loathed the rain. Lorelei just smiled into his beautiful eyes and said, "Do you know what comes after every rainstorm?" she kissed his forehead and answered her own question, "A rainbow."
"Would you like speak to French?" he asked as though he really wanted to teach this young woman he had just met. Lorelei thought about and nodded.
"I'll love too." she said in a soft tone like she used to when little Hyde asked her to do things. She knew it wasn’t the smartest choice but to meet him again was fate. She’d die for him.

    One year later.
"Hyde, où êtes-vous?" Lorelei called for Hyde in French.
"En voici, Lei." he answered from the living room.
"You need me for something?" Lorelei walked into the living room in her white long sleeved blouse and black short shorts. Loki hung around her left shoulder, lazily as ever.
“Yes,” he then reached behind the curtains and pulled out a woman. “This is Vivian. She is a bit shy. Say hi, Vivian, ” she stood quiet. Lorelei was silent as well. It had been a year since she was taken in. Lorelei was very well used to newcomers already. Though this stranger seemed familiar to Lorelei. Loki opened an eye to see the woman and smiled slyly.
Vivian had crimson curls that bounced endlessly as she hastily made her way to Hyde’s side. Her eyes were acute and topaz, sly like a fox. She wore a black leather coat with a low cut cotton tank top that showed her belly piercing. The lower half of her body squeeze into velvet black flares with leather boots. Lorelei was always told never to judge a book by it’s cover but it wasn’t like this was the first of Vivian she had ever seen.
Hyde had a habit of internet searching for women. Vivian was one of them. Lorelei had finally remembered that Vivian sent Hyde pictures of her in a bikini, underwear, and more. Though Hyde was rather loving and nice, his taste in female had high standards. One, she had to have the face of a seducing goddess. Two, she had to have the Goddess Aphrodite’s body. How disgusting, Lorelei thought.
Although, what kind of male doesn’t want most of that? Even though, he told Lorelei that he wouldn’t search for the right girl to harshly. “I know somewhere out there, that girl is looking for me too. She’s searching just like I am,” he spoke to Lorelei with a faint smile.
“She’s my girlfriend,” he pulled Vivian into his arms and kissed her rosy cheeks. Lorelei looked away.
“Is that it?” Lorelei mumbled as Loki jumped down to the floor.
“Well… yes. Are you not happy for me?”
Lorelei stood silent and glared at Hyde‘s eyes, her fists shook in fury. She was clearly on the brink of pulling her gun out and blast Hyde’s brain out of his own skull. The feline chuckled and licked Lorelei’s cheek. How interesting, Loki thought.

Weeks passed and Hyde began to forget his duties as leader. Michael, Hyde’s best friend, was co-leader. He was shy towards girls but surely no female ever tired to befriend him. His personality made you not understand why no woman wanted him. Michael had a childish, but masculine persona difference to Hyde. He was so mentally and physically attractive. Michael’s hair was rather short, crispy, and jet black. His features were manly and masculine. His skin was an oily olive tan that matched perfectly with dark, lush, forest evergreen pines trees colored eyes. Michael’s voice was seducing as an incubus and angelic as the Archangel Michael himself.
Lorelei was told from Michael that he met Hyde around the age of thirteen in a Christianity orphanage. Hyde seemed to moved around a lot to different orphanages because he would often turn into Jekyll and tore the orphanages to the ground after Lorelei disappeared from his life. Michael was told to befriend Hyde before he entered the orphanage, but he rejected the request right after meting Hyde. They were the same age then and both equally striking.
. “I said hi to the damn brat and he just ignored me! It pissed me off so freaking bad!” Michael yelled out while telling Lorelei about his past memories with Hyde. Finally came the day where Hyde snapped and began trashing the orphanage. Michael took a blow into his face, “Do you really think you are the only person with pain?!”
Hyde’s anger rose within less a minute and high-kicked Michael in the face. “Shut up! You don’t know a thing about me!” Hyde cried, grabbing Michael by the collar. Michael kneed Hyde in his stomach and shoved him backwards.
“No! I may not know a damn thing about your freaking life! But I know for sure you lost someone you loved, that’s why you are here! That’s why I’m here and every other kid in this house is!” Michael exclaimed sitting on top of Hyde and constantly stroked Hyde with his fist. Michael’s tears swelled up to his eyes from anger. Hyde escaped from under Michael and smote Michael in the chin with his leg.
They continue to fought until Mother Superior jerked the two by their ear and threw them outside for the night. “You two can come back when you apologize to each other and be friends! If not, you two won’t be getting any dinner tonight!” Mother Superior yelled harshly at the two teenaged boys. Michael and Hyde sat outside quietly, rubbing their sore spots.
“You…” Michael tried to start a conversation but heard Hyde’s stomach grumbled for food. Michael busted out laughing and Hyde’s cheeks turned slightly red. “Ah, yeah. You haven’t eaten since you got here. I’m amazed you could actually have the strength to fight. You seem like a bag of skin and bones to me.” he chuckled.
“You wish that I‘d be just a bag of skin and bones. If I wasn’t strong, how will I protect my love ones in the future?” Hyde mumbled towards the ending of his sentence.
“What was that?” Michael couldn’t hear him well but Hyde just shook his head. “I think you’re pretty cool. The way you fight, that is.” he grinned.
“Yeah? I think you’re pretty cool too...” Hyde smirked but it quickly disappeared. “I’m sorry about only thinking about myself. It was selfish of me.”
“I’m sorry too.” Michael contrite to Hyde. “But you should be my little brother. I’ll teach you a thing or two about punches.” Michael held up his fist and Hyde gently hit it back with his.
“Sure, I‘ll teach you about kicks.” Hyde finally smiled once after three years of Lorelei’s disappearance. Just like that, Michael and Hyde both quickly became best friends. It relieved Lorelei to know Hyde wasn’t alone his whole life.

“Hyde has a huge problem with women,” Michael informed Lorelei as she was helping him clean up after the children. “I don’t understand why Hyde gets women off of the internet though. He’s more than capable of getting a women here.”
“I don’t like girls like her.” Lorelei mumbled.
“Yeah, but his last girlfriend was a real pain. She didn’t like me and the others. We didn’t like her either. She treated Hyde like a puppy that followed her around. She was abusive as well. Even so, he loved her,” he spoke silently while handing the young kid’s their lunch.
“But… I don’t get it. Vivian is so beautiful and model-like, why does she choose Hyde?” Lorelei interrogated Michael while feeding an infant.
“Her self-esteem is low. Hyde is a man who sugar coats everything. When her self-esteem grows, she’ll soon realize she needs not of Hyde anymore. She’ll leave him and find someone ‘better,’” he informed her calmly. Lorelei had a feeling what Michael told her might be true. “I’m getting tired of Hyde though.”
“He is repeating the same thing over as with his last girlfriend. Hyde doesn’t understand that his family and friends will leave him behind. He gives all of his attention towards one person only. I was nice enough to do this once and stood in as leader, but if it continues, everyone will be gone.” Michael walked away and disappeared into the kitchen. Lorelei bit her lower lip.
No matter what, Lorelei wouldn’t leave him behind.

    Later that day.
“Hyde.” Lorelei knocked on Hyde’s bedroom door.
“Come in!” he called out. She opened the door and saw Hyde fresh out from the shower. Hyde’s pale, flawless, muscular, wet skin seem to almost glistened from the sunlight that seeped through his windows. “Hey, Lei. How are you?”
“I’m good. What about you?” Lorelei questioned, closing the door behind her and leaned against it.
“Good, good.” he grinned boyishly. There then was a tapping at the window and a call from a cat. Loki demanded for the window in Hyde’s room to open. Hyde opened the windows and picked Loki up with a small kiss onto Loki’s furry forehead. “Hello there, Loki. You look like a black wild cat now!” Hyde chuckled at the feline. Loki mewed happily at the compliment and was hand over to Lorelei’s arms.
“Are you going somewhere again, Hyde?” Lorelei muttered.
“Yes. Vivian wants to see a movie with --”
“I don’t like her,” she interrupted him.
    “What?”
“I don’t like her.” Lorelei repeated again.
“Do you even know her? Have you ever spoken to her?” he questioned, sounding calm. Lorelei shook her head. “Lorelei, what have I told you about judging a book by it’s cover?”
“You told me I shouldn’t do it. It isn’t a good thing to do. Even so, it’s not my fault she wants to be judged as a prostitute! She has pictures of herself on the internet in her bra and panties! She summarizes herself as a alcoholic and a hysterical drug addict! I didn’t judge her by her looks only, I judge her by what she says about herself!” Lorelei exclaimed.
“She only does that to fit in. She was bullied for her looks. Every time guys see her, they ask for nude pictures and sexually harass her. So Vivian will portray herself that way. She trusts me and loves me because I’m not like those guys. Do you understand?” he explained.
“Yes, I understand that she is your girlfriend and you’ll say anything to defend her. Even when I’m right!” Lorelei was crying by then. Her heart was sobbing in pain. It felt like when she was shoot in the stomach by her ex-lover. She held tightly onto Loki and he licked her tears.
Lorelei had been hiding the fact that she loved Hyde but only Michael said it wasn’t that she loved him, she just wanted the attention that he gave her. Maybe that was true. One year of attention and care from him, then it vanished in a day because of Vivian. Yes, that must be it… right? It couldn’t be jealousy… could it? Lorelei stood looking at the ground, her tears dripping onto Loki.
Suddenly, Lorelei ran out of Hyde’s room with a slam onto his door. She tumbled into Michael’s arms, still teary with red cheeks. “Lorelei… What’s wrong?”
“A lot of things! L-like… global warming, the low economy, the stupid government, kids drinking and smoking, people dieing every two seconds, the mothers and fathers at war, blah blah blah…” she kept going and it made Michael laughed endlessly. Eventually, she told Michael what happen.
“So, you got into a argument with Hyde about Vivian and he defend her?” Michael restated her story more easily , chuckling with tears of laughter in his eyes. She nodded, wiping her fresh tears away. Michael laughed again, “Well, If he was your boyfriend and I said something, you’d defended him too right?” Lorelei thought a bit it and nodded. He patted her head. “You’re such a kid.”
“I’m not a kid,” she began sulking. I’m older than you, she thought.
“If you like him as you say, Lei. Why not tell him?” he rested his cheek on the palm of his hand and the other touching Lorelei’s beautiful silk obsidian hair. His forest evergreen eyes held her glazed gaze.
“I would never do so,” she rejected his idea as Loki slept in her lap.
“Why not? Do you like me instead?” he brought a strain of her hair to his lips and tenderly smiled into her eyes. Lorelei jerked her gaze away from him.
“No, I don’t.” she answered as he chuckled.

    Six months later.
It was dark and gloomy. Father Sky appeared to be crying his heart out. He threw a tantrum of forceful winds and hail onto his wife, Mother Earth. Animals took shelter and so did the humans on earth. Even so, Vivian was eager to drive out to the country but Hyde was feeling anxious about going to see Vivian’s big brother in such a rainstorm. Even so, Hyde packed his things and was heading out with Vivian in the evening.
“Why are you going to drive out in such a storm?” Lorelei questioned Hyde as she leaned against Hyde’s big smooth mahogany desk.
“Vivian wants to leave within this evening; hopefully the rainstorm will stop.” he mumbled.
“The rainstorm won’t stop until weeks later!” she exclaimed with her hand slamming onto Hyde‘s mahogany desk.
“I know that.” he assured her still packing his things.
“You loath rainstorms, Hyde! After what happen to your parents--” Lorelei covered her mouth.
“How?” he stared at her wide eyed. “I never told anyone about that. How do you know my parents died in a rainstorm? Did Michael tell you?” Lorelei shook her dead but kept silent and he gripped her shoulders, “Tell me how do you know?!” he snapped at her. Hyde was turning into Jekyll. His gentle eyes went berserk, but Lorelei showed no fear. It was always like that back then. Hyde always went Jekyll when it rain.
“My darling Hyde.” she whispered and kissed his forehead. Tears ran down his cheek as he stared into Lorelei’s different color eyes. He suddenly threw her to the ground, backing away from her. “Hyde.” Lorelei called to him.
“No, this is impossible. It’s been seventeen years. You’re dead… They made you drank a poison and you died. What are you?!” he yelled that the whole household can hear him.
“Hyde, listen to me,” she wasn’t sure how to say it but the words spilt out from Loki.
“She’s immortal, Hyde,” the feline spoke, cleaning his paws.
“Loki can talk?” he stared at the bewitched animal. “I-if she is immortal, why didn’t she come back to me?”
    “Because she might have kill--”
“I could have killed you.” Lorelei gazed at his eyes.
“W-What?” Hyde looked as if he was about to cry. “A-are you s-saying you really did k-kill the other kids?” Lorelei nodded. A bullet plunged into her red eye. Lorelei didn’t notice he had grabbed his gun. “Why?! Why would you kill them?!” Hyde felt like he was going to vomit.
Loki quickly jumped and starched Hyde on his left eye, “How dare you make her cry blood!” Loki hissed.
“I need to be immortal. So, I bond with the little orphans to gain life spans.” she smiled at Loki and picked him up with the other hand covering her eye that was punctured. Blood oozed from and it looked like she was crying blood. “Are you upset, my little Hyde? Are you so hurt to know the woman you once loved so much is a murderer?”
“Shut up!” he pulled the trigger again, only this time she dodged it.
“They weren’t the only people I killed. I killed all my best friends, my boyfriends… Loved ones, you get it?” she giggled, her fingers tracing her lips as Loki licked the rich red velvet liquid that trickled down her lovely cheek.
“You planned to kill everyone in here too, didn’t you?! That’s why you were willing to come with me! You hated that Vivian was drawing me away from you because soon I won’t love you. I wouldn’t qualify as your loved one!” he exclaimed.
“So smart. I didn’t think you’ll ever get that right.” Lorelei held in her tears. No, she wouldn’t ever be so sickening. Why did Loki tell Hyde that she was an immortal? Was Loki trying to help her make him hate her? So she wouldn’t have to kill him. Or was he just being mean?
    “Get out! I don’t want you here! If you stay… I’ll… I’ll--”
“You’ll kill me?” Lorelei questioned. She laughed, “You couldn’t kill me. You love Miss Lorelei too much,” she held out her arms to get a hug as the cat jumped to her feet. Hyde flinched.
“If you won’t get out, then I will--”
“Wait, Hyde!” Michael grabbed Hyde’s arm as he was just walking out of his bedroom. “Calm down. I’m sure Lorelei never meant to try and hurt anyone in here. She has been here for a year and a half. Nothing ever happened.”
“That’s because she’s planning on her next move! Let go!” Hyde jerked his arm away and ran out the door. Lorelei listened to the slamming of the car door and the engine starting. Soon, the only thing you could hear was whispers, the winds, and rain.
“Lorelei,” Michael called to her, “Your eye, it must hurt,” he removed her hand that was covering her bloody eye.
“You still touch me after what you learned?” she questioned with anger, slapping his hand away.
“Cut the act already. I know you want to cry,” he picked her up and carried her to the infirmary. There, he bandaged her eye. Lorelei sobbed and Michael kept the children away from her.
“I-I’m s-sorry. I-I really w-wasn’t trying to bond and k-kill anyone in here.” she was crying so hard it was getting hard to breathe right. Michael wiped her tears and hugged her tightly, shushing her.
“It’s fine,” he spoke softly and tenderly. “But I been wondering…” he paused to think if he should really ask.
    “Say it,” she demanded.
“How old are you?” Lorelei backhanded him instantly.
“Don’t ever ask a woman her age!” she freed herself from his hug. Then stop to think, “Do you think… Hyde will be okay…? It’s been twenty-minutes since he was gone…’
“He’ll be fine.” Michael placed on a weak smile. Somehow, he doubted it.

Hyde was running on 100mph in the rainstorm. His eyes where gradually stinging from the tears the leaked from his eyes. His hands gripped tightly to the steering wheel but where will he go? Vivian wasn’t the person he wanted to see. He always made it look like he was happily in love with her but no. Their honeymoon stage had ended. Every moment he spent with her, he was walking on eggshells.
To make it worst, his first love was nothing but to be a murderer. She killed innocent people for her own selfish reasons. Hyde had a bottle of vodka he had been drink to calm himself down. Though the tears never stopped. His drinking finally worked its magic and he ran into a light pole. He shifted himself out of his car and in seconds he was drenched from the rain. The air smelled of wet cement, a gross smell it is. In his left hand, he held the bottle of vodka.
The coldness from the wind and rain combined numbed him. Unluckily, it didn’t numb his heart from such emotions he was feeling. “Why?” he whispered. “Why did you do this to me?!” he yelled at Father Sky and threw his glass bottle of vodka at Mother Earth. “What did I ever done to you?!” he cried and lightning stroked a pole near him as Father Sky rumbled.
“What?! After my parents were taken away from me you were supposed to send me some to love me! Instead, you sent me a selfish, cold-blooded fiend?!” Hyde fell to the ground in the middle of the empty street on his knees and his fist slammed onto the cement, beating Mother Earth. “Why…?” he breathe heavily. “Why did you let me live after the accident? What was my purpose of living?! Why didn’t you let me go with my parents so I wouldn’t have to go though so much pain?!” Hyde shouted from the darkest emotions of his heart, “Just… Just kill me already. I’m tired of living if this is what life means…”
There suddenly was a bright white light heading Hyde’s way. The next thing, the headlights turned red and in the middle of the road was a man that laid ice cold and motionless.

“Michael! There is a call from the police!” a teenage boy yelled out. Michael instantly stood up. Loki pounced onto Lorelei’s shoulder.
“Hyde is dead, Lorelei.” Loki whispered silently into her ear.
“No…” she managed to blurt out. “No, no, no! You’re lying to me, Loki! He can’t be dead! He can’t be!” she pleaded. Michael dropped the phone before he even talked to the police. The words from Lorelei’s mouth was enough to think about.
Lorelei sat in her room, crying helplessly to herself. If I never said anything about his parents, this wouldn’t have happened, she thought. “If I never came with him into his home this will never have happened… If…. I never became an orphan keeper, this wouldn’t have happened. If… Just if I never made a wish to be immortal, all this wouldn’t ever happened!” she cried. She didn’t want to blame Loki. It was her choice. She was all to blame.
Loki transformed into his human form and sat next to her. He squeezed her hands tightly. It felt warm and calmed her a bit. “You still have… Two wishes left.”
“Tell me what my heart wants most right now,” she breathe slowly.
“You want… to die,” he chocked out the last words. “You want everything to rewind and go back to the day, the time where your heart stopped… beating.”
“Will there be a catch to my wish?” she whispered.
“Why will you wish such things? You never wanted to die so badly after every one of your loved ones dies. Why now? Why don‘t you just wish for him to be alive again?! I‘ll do that for you! Just say it, I’ll bring Hyde back to life!” He yelled and gripped her hand.
“Nothing will change, Loki! Don’t you understand…? Nothing will change. He hates me. No, loathes me. He killed himself because of me!” she sobbed. “I wish I can go back to the snowing day of where my lover killed me!” she screamed. Michael heard Lorelei shouting and peeked into her room.
“If you do that, time will rewind. Hyde and everyone you met will not know of you. Is it really what you want…?” he hesitantly asked her. She nodded. “And your last wish then?” Loki’s voice began to quiver.
“Give it to Michael,” she rested her eyes, again waiting to be death’s bride.
“Lorelei, no!” Michael ran into her room to grab her, but grasped damp gray, dusk-like sand. Her two years of life had ended on the exact time she lasted set her gun upon a loved one.
“Granted.” Loki managed to get the word out of his mouth. He heard the siren of the ambulance come for Lorelei’s lifeless body. It was dark out in the streets as the dim lamp post shown down on her. She was still so beautiful, as if she was only asleep. Her lips still held its pale rose petal color and her cheeks flushes angelically. Lorelei was lying on a thick blanket of snow, that had been soaked in her unrestrained blood. Oh, how it made her so disgustingly gorgeous and delicious.
To think this girl could make Loki, the god of mischief, shred tears for a pitiful weak human being. No, she was his goddess of mischief. His partner in crime, his mistress, his only loved one.
