• The Dance was decked with colorful streamers, and the walls sprayed with sparkles.
It was horrible, and I knew as I watched the sweating bodies sway with each other, and the occasional body fall to the floor.
This was Pertcher’s High school dance, a lame excuse for kids to come and sweat all over each other and to get high on candy, if you can even does that.
The gym that held all the sweaty teenage bodies was our gym, that had small bleachers out to let tired students sit for a moments rest, but mostly couples would go and make out on them.
The lights were dimmed, to set in a feeling of freedom to dance without people to know who you are, or that’s why I think they do it cause, seriously, these kids CAN NOT dance.
A DJ was tucked into the corner of the gym, were all the talented dancers would gather to show off in hopes that the DJ might just be someone looking for a dancer for a public show.
And the people who aren’t as good dancers are packed in little groups scattered around the gym, and you can find the occasional good dancing group hanging away from the front, because they really don’t give a damn.
Then you find the groupies that hang on the walls and never move a muscle to dance and they sit there and laugh at the ridiculous kids that seem to not know how to handle themselves.
I sighed, a sigh that said: “My best friend force me to come to this lame place.”
I fumbled with the black fabric that looked more like a rope, then a fashion statement. My dress was as black as night, and waved down my body in layers, and was a little itchy if I say so myself.
I saw a few of my so called friends, but they passed by with a wiry glance in my direction, which I would have done too if I was in their place, I most likely looked ready to kill a tiger.
“Well, well. If it isn’t Mrs. Dark-and-Gloomy herself?”
Ugh, why did I come to the god forsaken place?
    It was Marcie Kellmore. Nasty.
I snorted and caught the demon herself with her crew of spawns behind her.
They seemed to be sparkled out, her blonde hair in curls down her body, and seemed a little too childish for her attire, which was set up like a stripper doll. Her dropped down chest part of her dress was black like mine, but more sparkled. The other part of her dress fell down a little over her knee cap, and was curved to her figure.
The rest of them were dressed like back-up dancers compared to Marcie, and they all seemed to do the same thing, mimic the same thing, and follow around Marcie.
“What do you want, Barbie?” I growled my eyes turning from a bored look to a dark glare.
The room seemed to quiet as the drama of our conversation set in like morning rain.
“Nothing at all, just wondering why you’re here?” she illuminated the word here, and I felt a smile go to my reddened lipstick lips cringe up into a creepy smile.
The Seep of Hesitation from the crowd, awaiting the next comeback was like sap on a maple tree, slow and sticky.
My mind Seemed to rush into answers on why should would be talking to me in the first place, to make me look like the laughing stock of the whole school, to make me look like a retarded twit in front of everyone, or was it to make me look like the bad guy in the current situation I was in?
Of course it didn’t matter, because she wasn’t even a light in my life, and I wasn’t going to let a immature little slut get advantage from my already set right life.
I cringed my smile a little wider, and let my smile reach my eyes.
It was a look of dark happiness, a smile that said you don’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into, and I was defiantly going to take this chance to put Marcie back in her place!
“Why just watching out for you, my darling. Don’t want you doing something that would add to your slut image.” I smiled lightly up at the Barbie whose face was getting a little red.
The response from the crowd was like hot milk chocolate, and made me smile with dark happiness once again, they knew I had told her something she wouldn’t like; and they loved it!
She caught herself in seconds, and smiled a smile of triumph.
“Why don’t you just go stand in a dark corner where you belong, where nobody will notice your existence.” She caught her breath, and her eyes popped out of her head in a surprised look.
“Wait, they already do that.” She laughed a sickening laugh that made me want to punch her face over and over.
The crowd behind her laughed in unison and sneered right in my face, just like they had did to Marcie when I had made the best comeback, They were fake.
I let my heart feel the sadness of turns, she was a slut but yet she still had friends, but I just don’t get it.
I’m a virgin, and yet my friends deceived me, and the people who tried to talk to me end up just wanting something from me, which only makes me hate them more.
Of course I should have known why they had packed up on me like this, they wanted me gone. And not just gone from this dance but, gone from their life’s.
My heart seemed to tremble under thousands of pounds of weight, as my eyes took in the horrible crowd that was hidden behind a calm looking Marcie, someone who never had a problem with people because she picked on them instead, and made it an entertaining show.
My heart fell, plummeting down deeper than earth itself, and right when I thought it would hit the ground and shatter it stopped.
My heart stopped feeling, and a strange sensation went over my bones, and suddenly my heart was flying, but not in a loving way, more like up into the suns temperature, and traveling further and further, until my heart did something then that made me stop moving, it became inflamed. My heart was building a dangerous emotion, building up the laughter of the students as a source of power.
My brain didn’t want to listen, and a buzzing began, a commotion like an army of bees, all of them right next to my ear, filling me with a fear of the unknown, of what was happening to me, what I could not come to understand.
I slammed down a foot close to Marcie, who stepped back in harmony.
The crowd hushed in excitement, thinking that just maybe this night will get a little bit better, and my heart began to pump with unknown furry.
My mind went blank for a blink second, and like a snap of your fingers my sight came back, and a horror found my eyes.
Suddenly I had Marcie on the ground, her hands up in her face like a prayer.
I let my eyes slide from the girl on the ground, and like a bang through my stomach I saw the horror struck faces, and a feeling coming from them that made my fire only stronger, and an emotion that made all my feelings dark.
I claimed myself, and disregarded the staring face’s that followed me, and knew I had to escape the captivity of the dark halls that seemed to shiver and change right in front of me.
I pushed open the huge doors that opened the front office up, and like a freight train I crashed through the doors that led me to the outside world.

    Chapter 1:

I flung myself out of the doors that had sealed me inside the building.
I felt like my skin was inflamed in tiny little sparks of pain, and the pain only grew as I flung myself toward the road, and my shoes had somehow ended off my feet.
I slammed my weight onto the black top, my feets echoing sound was growing intensity.
I could feel the small tickle at the tip of my fingers, like it did when you don’t move your fingers for a long time but after awhile you move it and the feeling doesn’t want to come back.
But my fingers had been moving the whole time.
My brain was working without knowing it, my eyes piercing through the streets with growing intensity.
I shifted quickly, and ran into a dark alley, right were my mother had always told me to stay away from but somehow I could bring myself from running away from there.
“You want help?” I turned my head toward the wicked voice and found a man, covered in the shadows of the night, and his smile like the moon, taunting and creepy.
He had a tight pair of denim Black jeans, and his black leather jacket swung open to the sides, revealing a skinny, ripped man with a white tank top.
“NO!” My voice came out like a demonic shriek, and I gasped at myself, what was happening to me? I slid myself toward the opening of the alley, away from the chuckling man.
“Of course your confusion is blocking your emotion, don’t you remember me?” He hissed, and I noticed his lips were small and skinny, and almost as pale as his skin, and when I slid my eyes up to his eyes they cringed as he smiled.
Remember him? Of course I would remember someone I knew, I mean I was a little loopy from the pain that was traveling through my body right now and had come out of nowhere, but that wouldn’t have blocked my thoughts.
“I would remember someone I know.” I glared at his creepy face that seemed to lose more color after what I said.
He dropped his head, and his large shoulders heaved in a sighing motion.
I felt another pain flash up my back, but instead of hurting me, it made me on edge, and my hairs stood up instantly.
    A sign of danger.
I flipped forward a little, and once again my mind worked without me knowing and I separated my legs apart, causing my dress to rip on the side and releasing me from its restrainment. I then raised my tan arms in front of my pale face, and remained my safe position.
His smile crept up on one side and almost as quick as I had prepared myself he flung his whole body forward and like a jet he flew toward me.
I held myself still, my head telling me to stay where I was, but my heart telling me to get the hell out of there, and once again I listened to my head.
I felt the man’s hands on my arms, he tightened his grip and flung me forward, and I felt my feet slid from beneath me, and suddenly I was sailing backwards at an incredible speed.
I felt my head hit before the rest of my body followed, and before I knew it the man was back at me, and my brain called me to spring myself sideways.
I barely escaped his hands, and I heard a snap as he collided violently with the brick wall.
I found myself chuckling like before at the dance, and the man’s head snapped up, his eyes wild with fire.
I felt a jolt of fear as his face was revealed, fully this time.
His face was scared up the left side, from the dimple of his smile, to the arch of his eye brow; his ear on the right side of his head had been half ripped off and revealed what looked like a bite mark.
I gasped at the torture this man had found, and felt a tiny fragment of sadness.
“You’re Lucky to have revealed my real face, and I find it that your filled with a sadness, well don’t be.” He smiled, and like a flash of lightning his arms were around my waist, and his mocking smile was in front of me.
“Because you will become defenseless.” He smiled and shifted his arms around me, and I felt a twinge of fear, and suddenly the pain was back, and with full fear I slammed my fist into his stomach.
He fell back with a huff, and my heart took effect, and I flung myself around and flew for the entrance of the alley.
I felt the eyes of the man follow my body as I ran for the hope of my life, and I felt hope return to me as I ran away from the man who had had me in his grasp.
I slung myself around the corner of the street, and out of view of the man who had attacked me, and with full hopes that he didn’t follow me, but once again my brain told me to stay on guard.
I opened my eyes, and found the street disserted, and a street lamp in the distance blinking calmly, as it slowly changed colors ever so often.
I slung myself around the corner to make sure he wasn’t following me, and with the coast clear, I turned back around and right back into the man with the scar.
“Don’t hurt me.” I whispered, and with barley any distance between us I clung to the wall behind me for support.
The man laughed darkly, his eyes closing dramatically.
“Don’t hurt you? Wow… so what they say is true. You really have forgotten.” His smile disappeared, and with a huff he released me with ease.
What the hell? A DAMN GOOSE CHASE?
I turned away from the man in front of me, and with a dark glare I asked him a question.
“You made me this way?” I asked, grabbing the sides of my dress, and trying unsuccessfully to cover some of the rip.
    “Made you?”
“Made me deal with this pain?”
“No, Little lady, I just gave you the pain.” He rolled his eyes, and with a huff he raised his pale hand and a dark hole appeared in the palm of his hand.
“What is that?” I asked, seeing the dark thing suddenly turn into a 3-d fur ball that was almost as cute as a Maltese puppy.
“A Demon Dog.” He smiled and held out the thing in his palm, and I took a step back and it ended with him throwing the thing lightly into the air and it suddenly unleashed little tiny black wings.
    “Dog, More like bird…”
    “It’s a Demon dog.”
I glared at the man who was suddenly walking away from me, looking like he had just come from a restaurant.
“WHERE DO YOU THINK YOUR GOING?” I slid down the wall, trying to keep track of my attacker.
    “I’m Reporting.”
“Reporting?” I asked, and suddenly I found myself walking to the guy that had just tried to hurl me into a wall, well I’m not the brightest person.
“To my leader, and to tell them you’re not worth it.” He laughed a little at the end, and I growled under my breath at his selfishness.
“NOT WORTH IT?” I slammed my foot down, getting his attention.
He turned and took my what-the-hell look, and I got a good look at him.
He was actually kind of cute, and when you look at his eyes he looks thoughtful.
His night colored hair whipped violently in the wind, and his gray eyes watched me silently.
“You aren’t ready yet, you couldn’t even block me.”
    “YES, I DID TOO!”
    “You ran away.”
I glared at this man with a mocking smile on his face, and a look that said he was enjoying this whole scene.
What was with me? I was talking to a guy that had just tried to kill me, and yet I wasn’t scared, truth was I was actually confused.
Why did this guys group want me?
I had just a second ago been all by myself, and know this man was saying I wasn’t ready?
What the hell was I not ready for?
“Tell me what’s going on!” I screamed, a demand that I knew I would get no matter what; I had to figure out what I had gotten myself into.
He rolled his eyes once again; he did this a lot, and then raised a bold hand.
“I could kill you right now if I wanted to.” I felt a shock go through my body as he spoke the cold words, I had been wrong.
He did want to kill me; he just didn’t find killing me fun to play with. He was treating me like I was a play toy.
I had never met someone with this little respect for human kind, and it pissed me off.
I watched him stretch his fingers, darkness in his eyes
The world seemed to slow in the second his hand smacked down to his waist and hard, cold silence was filled between us.
A cold shiver ran down my back, and like a Snake traveling across winter water.
The hushed words flowed through my ears, chanting unknown words that my body only seemed to know. They sent ripples down my body with each hissed out word.
The feeling of pain rushed through my body again, and with a growl that escaped my lips, I took in the man with the cold, gray eyes.
“You trying to shock me again?” I spoke with an unknown power, it sent ripples through the man’s body, and his eyes had gone wide with terror.
“ I don’t appreciate you treating me this way-” I felt my body seize something important, even though I couldn’t figure out what it was, but I spoke, my brain taking over as I seeped back into my heart.
“-Ambolian” The name hissed off my lips, and ended with a twinge of my lips in a smirk of power.
The man gasped at the name that escaped my lips, and then with a shake of his head, he whispered.
    “She’s awake.”
