• The chirps of crickets and caws of crows could be heard all around the pair as they traveled down the path. The petite boy focused on these noises in particular, taking in the peacefulness of the evening. He looked straight ahead of him, at the multicolored horizon. He rubbed some blood off of his chin, a remnant from his earlier captivity. His face was contorted in a small bit of confusion and curiosity. He looked up at his butler from his position, cradled in his arms.
Sebastian looked down, his face unreadable in the glow of dusk, “Something the matter, young master?” Ciel’s face became expressionless. “No.” “Is that so? Then why is it that my master has been casting such many glances at me since we left that place?” A smirk spread across the demon’s refined features. The earl looked away, crossing his arms over his chest.
“I have a question. Answer it truthfully.” The elder man tilted his head, “What is it Bocchan? You know I will answer everything you ask of me with nothing but the utmost truth.” Ciel’s line of vision was now directed at the ground, “You prefer cats, is that not true?” The raven-haired gentleman’s face took on a look of dreaminess. “Why yes, young master. I simply adore them. Such soft… gentle… quiet creatures…ah-“ “Sebastian.” “Yes, Bocchan?” Shut up.” “Yes, Bocchan.” The demon pouted. “If you prefer cats, then why make me say woof?”
Sebastian smirked. “In life, there are always exceptions for everything.” Ciel looked at him, his one visible sapphire eye framed by an arched brow, “What are you getting at Sebastian?” The demon adjusted his grip on the boy, leaning in, “There is one breed of dog I am particularly drawn to.” “And that breed would be?” Ciel cursed the pale blush that rose to his cheeks as he felt the cold breath of his butler against his lips. “I’m especially fond of… watch dogs,” His smirk grew as did Ciel’s blush. The earl immediately turned away, his lips brushing against the butlers due to their proximity. He pretended not to notice, “Idiot…. That’s not even a breed title…” The demon chuckled inwardly,” How silly of me, my lord. Now, it’s quite late… I’m afraid dinner will be quite late this evening…”
