• Chapter 3
    I'll take you home Kiobi!

    Kiobi had seen the girl with the white hair a few times since their first encounter, and he was getting fat from all the food she was bringing. Today the sky was looking gloomy and Kiobi thought for sure that the girl would not show today. He sat on his hill and listened to the distant thunder, “ She’s not coming.” he thought “ not if it rains.” There was suddenly a flash of lightning and a loud rumble of thunder. Kiobi soon found himself sitting on top of the hill in the pouring rain. He let out a sigh and began to walk to the other side of the hill where he would take shelter. “ WAIT!” a voice shouted from behind him! Kiobi whirled around and found himself face to face with the girl. “ I'm sorry I'm late” she said.


    She knelt down and began to pet him “ You really don't have anywhere to go do you?” she asked him. Kiobi only purred in response. “ I think maybe now would be a good time to take you home.” she said with a smile. Kiobi's eyes widened this was it! He was finally getting off this godforsaken hill! She picked him up and cradled him in her arms “ I'm sure daddy won't mind.” she said as she walked back down the hill.

    As they went further into the city Kiobi noticed that the rain was beginning to let up, “ Well this is a nice surprise.” said the girl looking up at the cloudy sky. They kept walking until they reached a tough looking part of the city. The buildings that surrounded them were worn down and not well kept, some of the buildings had graffiti on them depicting what looked like gang symbols. Kiobi was beginning to feel uneasy he didn't like it here, he knew something wasn't right. “ Normally I would have a ride home” said the girl “ but Mr. Crusu was busy today.” Kiobi looked up at her, he could feel her grip tightening around his middle he could tell she was scared.



    Just as they walked past a narrow alleyway a voice called out to them, “ Yo Kazayuki” it said. The girl stopped dead in her tracks. “ C-can I help you?” she stammered. Just then a slender looking young man stepped out of the alleyway. He wore a sleeveless white t-shirt, which revealed the many tattoos he had up and down his arms. He wore tight fitting black leather pants and on his side was a gun. “ Where’s my money?” Asked the slender man “ If its money you want, you'll have to take it up with my father.” said Kazayuki sternly. “ Well that's too bad” said the slender man “Looks like I'll have to play with you a bit until I get my money.” That's when Kazayuki bolted as fast as she could away from the alley. “ Not so fast!” shouted the slender man as he ran after her “ I WANT WHAT I'M OWED!!!.”


    Kazayuki ran as fast as she could but she could hear the slender man’s footsteps close behind her. “ I wish I could do something.” Kiobi thought to himself “But in this body what could I do?” Kazayuki rounded a corner and found herself at a dead end. “ Oh no!” she breathed “I'm trapped!” she held Kiobi close to her and backed into the wall. “ Finally!” shouted the slender man “ Now I have you! Now give me my money!” He grabbed Kazayuki by the front of her blouse and threw her against the wall knocking the wind out of her. The force of her hitting the wall sent Kiobi flying and he hit the ground with a loud THUD!

    “M-Mr. Kitty” she whimpered weakly. Kiobi stood up as fast as he could and turned to face the slender man. “ What's this?” he asked “ a mangy cat?” Kiobi looked up at the man “ Not just any cat” he growled. Just then Kiobi's body began to glow and soon he was fully enshrouded in a bright light! The slender man could not believe what he was seeing. And as soon as the light had come it faded, and in the place of the little black cat was a young man. He looked about 25ish, he had dark messy hair and he still retained his cat ears and tail. He was wearing a mask that covered his face only revealing his yellow-ish green eyes. He was shirt-less and he wore elbow length fingerless gloves and tight fitting black shorts that stopped at the knee. “ The names Kiobi” he said with a smirk. “Now leave before I tare you apart.” Kiobi threatened the slender man. The slender man only smirked “ Oh really?” he said smugly “ What can a little boy like you do?” Under his mask Kiobi was smiling and without warning he disappeared. In a split second he was already standing on the opposite side of the slender man. The man felt a sharp pain run through his chest and when he looked down he saw a large gash that had not been there before. “ Like I said” Kiobi growled “ Leave before I rip you apart!”


    The man didn't speak he only turned and ran gripping his chest in pain as he disappeared around the corner. Once Kiobi made sure the man was gone he walked over to Kazayuki who was still having trouble breathing. “ Are you OK?” He asked her his voice soft. He'd pulled down his mask now revealing the rest of his face, Kazayuki thought he was very handsome. His face was smooth and slender his jaw well chiseled. She found his eyes very kind and the color struck her as odd, Yellow-ish green much like a cat. “ I-I’m fine” she stammered. She looked him over again and noticed something else! He had the ears and tail of a cat! “ Y-you’re a...” she took a breath “Nekohito!” she exclaimed.


    “ Yeah and?” Kiobi asked sarcastically “ I didn't notice” He reached down and helped Kazayuki up. “ Thanks for saving me Mr. Kitty.” she said softly with a smile. “ My names Kiobi.” he said crossing his arms “ and it was nothing.” he shrugged “ Well Kiobi” said Kazayuki “ My names Rin, Rin Kazayuki” Kiobi looked down at her “ Well Rin” He said “ You need to get home, I'm not gonna save you again if that guy comes back.” Rin nodded “ Your right” she said “But what about you?” she asked. Kiobi looked away “ I don't have a home” he said his voice solemn “It was destroyed many years ago.”

    Rin looked down at the ground then back at Kiobi, “ I'm sorry” she said “ I shouldn’t have asked.” They sat for a moment in an awkward silence then Rin spoke up “ I know!” she said happily “ I'll take you home with me! You can stay at my house!” Kiobi looked down at her confused “ Say what?” he asked. “ I'll take you home Kiobi!” she said with a big smile.
