• EXT. SCHOOL GROUNDS. DAY.

    Jaxon, Trevor, Michael and Damon are putting the last of the bodies together. Trevor covers the body with gasoline. They all take a step back as Jaxon takes out matches. He lights a match and ignites the flame on the bodies.

    They hear more hissing and screeching sounds as they see more zombies coming toward the school.

    Michael: "s**t."

    Jaxon: "Come on guys, quick."

    They all hurry to the side door and close the doors. More zombies begin approaching the school.

    INT. SCHOOL.

    They all look at the zombies through the glass doors. Damon is shaken up with fear just by staring at them.

    Damon: "It's like they're multiplying out there...no matter how many we put down."

    Michael: "I wonder how the virus is spreading like this..."

    Trevor: "What ever it is, it's happening real ******** fast."

    Olivia qucikly approaches them.

    Olivia: "Damon!"

    Damon: "Yeah?"

    Olivia: "It's Mitchel. He wants to see you."

    Damon nods and follows Olivia back into the school.

    INT. NURSES' OFFICE.

    Olivia and Damon walk into the nurses' office. Damon sees Mitchel lying on the bed with Sarah still by his side.

    Damon: "Mitchel..!"

    He hurries beside him.

    Damon: "Are you okay?"

    Mitchel: "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."

    Damon: "What happened?"

    Mitchel: "One of the infected bit me...probably the worst pain I've ever felt."

    Damon: "I'll get the kids. I'll be right back--"

    Olivia: "It's alright. I'll get them."

    Damon: (smiles) "Thanks."

    Olivia: "Sure."

    She leaves the room. Damon turns to Mitchel.

    Damon: "You're going to be okay."


    INT. COMMONS.


    As Olivia is making her way to the auditorium, Jaxon walks along with her, coming from the office looking a bit worried.

    Olivia: "What's wrong?"

    Jaxon: "There's infected in the school."

    Olivia: "Seriously? Where at exaclty?"

    Jaxon: "They're locked off from the other side of the school."

    Olivia: "Wait...don't tell me that's what you're going to tell everybody."

    Jaxon: "I have to."

    Olivia: "Jaxon, people are going to panic! We just lost a quarter of survivors."

    Jaxon: "Doesn't matter. I can't keep secrets from them. They deserve to know. I'm sure if I talk with them all and we could all cooperate."

    (Beat)

    Jaxon: "I have no choice."

    Jaxon continues to walk. Olivia just watches him walk away. She sighs.


    INT. AUDITORIUM.


    Jaxon enters the noisy auditorium. Everyone is talking, still panicking and crying. Jaxon goes on to the stage and looks out at the crowd. Olivia
    enters and stands by the door, in the corner.

    Jaxon: "I need everyone's attention please."

    Talking dies down.

    Jaxon: "First off...I want to say I'm sorry for the ones we lost. I understand you're all afraid. I am too. We should all take this moment to be grateful as well...we still have a fighting chance against those things."

    (Beat)

    Jaxon: "Now there is something you all should know...but please, remain calm, as everything is under control...just so you guys are aware...the infected...are locked off on the other side of the school.

    Everyone starts panicking and talking to each other. They begin yelling out things.

    Jaxon: "Please, remain calm! I know if we all just pull together, we can--"

    Megan stands up, interupting his speech.

    Megan: "Jaxon..."

    Clip of Kierra, Phoenix and Xavier. Short pause.

    Megan: "While you were gone...most of us had made a decision..."

    Clip of Jaxon.

    Pause.

    Megan: "We have decided to leave."

    Olivia's mouth drops. Everyone starts calling things out to Jaxon.

    "It's not safe here!"

    "We need to get to our families!"

    "A rescue team could be out there!"

    Megan: "We're sorry."

    Almost the whole auditorium gets up and starts to leave. Jaxon is left speechless on the stage. Olivia is looking around,
    shocked as well.

    Olivia: (to Survivor) "Please, don't go! It isn't safe!"

    Survivor: "We have to. It's too risky here, we lost alot of people."

    Phoenix, Xavier, Craig, Emily and Kierra all get up and watch the survivors slowly exiting the building. Kierra spots
    Megan and hurries to her.

    Kierra: "Megan, please! You don't know what it's like out there, think about your son! Please dont go!"

    Megan: "I'm sorry. But I feel that I'm put in the same amount of danger in here as of out there."

    Kierra: "But..."

    Megan hugs Kierra tight.

    Megan: "Good luck."

    She grabs Liam's hand and she continues to exit the building. Jaxon exits the auditorium and watches most of the survivors walk
    down the hall toward the main entrance.

    Olivia: "Jaxon! Say something! You're just going to let them go??"

    Jaxon is at a loss of words in a state of shock.


    EXT. IN FRONT OF SCHOOL.


    The survivors leave through a side door by the main entrance. They all start running out as zombies start chasing them.
    A zombie goes to grab Megan, but a gunshot to the head brings it down. Megan looks up and sees Trevor with his rifle. Megan
    smiles and grabs her sons hand to run.


    INT. LOBBY.

    Ryan is looking out the front entrace, then turns back to look at Emily. Xavier and Phoenix are standing by her.

    Ryan: (to Emily) "Coming?"

    (Beat)

    Emily: "No."

    Ryan: "What did you just say?"

    (Beat)

    She looks at Xavier then back at Ryan.

    Emily: "I said no. I'm staying here."

    Ryan: "No the hell you're not."

    Emily: "Really now? Go on. Do something."

    (Beat)

    Emily: "Go ahead. Do something so everyone here can see what a sick, cruel monster you really are."

    Short pause.

    Ryan quickly walks up to her.

    Ryan: "You're ******** coming with me!"

    He grabs her wrist and starts dragging her outside. Emily screams.

    Emily: "Stop! no! Let me go!"

    Xavier grabs Emily back and Phoenix pushes Ryan off of her.

    Xavier: "She said she's staying here."

    Ryan: "Who the hell are you guys to get in between?"

    Xavier: "If we don't she's good as dead."

    Phoenix: "As much as I want this to get violent, I'm giving you the chance to leave. Now."

    Short pause.

    Ryan: "I hope the infected kill everyone of you."

    (Beat)

    Ryan: (to Emily) "Especially...you."

    He turns around and leaves the school. Ryan sees zombies coming at him and he runs to the far side of the school near the football field. He looks back and sees the zombies are at a far distance from him. As he continues to walk a zombie grabs him and brings him down. Ryan yells, trying to push it off of him.

    Ryan: "No!!"

    Trevor still has his rifle out. Through the scope he sees Ryan being attacked by the zombie. Trevor is about to shoot it in the head, but then hesitates. He decides to watch instead.

    Ryan slowly is inching the zombie off him. He looks up and sees a second zombie stumbling towards him.

    Ryan: "********! No!"

    He struggles more to get the zombie off. The zombie stumbles closer, hissing and growlong. Trevor is still watching from the roof, following the second zombie approaching Ryan.

    Ryan uses a big force and pushes the zombie to the side, almost having it bite his hand. He quickly gets up and runs away. He looks back at the two zombies, who start after him. He then bumps into a zombie that digs it's skin on his arm and scratches his whole upper arm and forearm. Ryan yells from the pain, looking at the large scratch mark. He holds his wound and stumbles away as the zombies continue to chase him.

    Trevor lowers his rifle and smirks.



    INT. CLASSROOm. NIGHT.


    We see Jaxon drinking from his flask. He's staring at a photograph that the audience doesn't see. He takes another chug
    and tears start rolling down his cheeks. He wipes the tears off his face and takes his sheriff hat off.

    Damon knocks on the door and slowly comes in.

    Damon: "Hey Jaxon...just thought I'd--"

    Jaxon: "Leave."

    Damon: (a bit surprised) "W-what?"

    Jaxon: "I said leave."

    Damon: (noticing the flask) "Jaxon..are you okay?"

    Jaxon storms up and starts kicking chairs and flipping tables over, screaming and sobbing up.

    Damon: "JAXON!"

    Jaxon yells more and throws a chair to the wall. Damon quickly runs over to him and grabs him tight, holding him back.

    Damon: "Stop it! What're you doing??"

    Jaxon: "I miss my baby! Why did she have to leave??"

    The photograph falls. Damon looks at the photo and his eyes widen.

    Jaxon: (crying) "I want her back! Why couldn't it have just been me??"

    Damon puts the photograph down, and looks at Jaxon at a loss of words to say...
