"He is not human.. he's like a piece of iron."

Identity

  • Real Name: To'mo-a-too'ah [Common Translation: Sky Child]
  • Alias: Deitric Jocasta, The Thundering Tempest, The Human Dynamo
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 24
  • Birth Date: Winter, BSC [Before Settler Contact, local calender]
  • Birthplace: Khasmin Plains
  • Race: Human
  • Ethnicity: Khasmin Tribes
  • Profession: Wandering Fighter/Adventurer
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Marital Status: Single
  • Location: Gaia

Personality

  • To his very core, Deitric is a product of his people and their traditions. While his exile and time spent in Gaia has steadily changed him, the center of his personality is still very much the wandering nomad of the Khasmin Plains who slept on the ground, took his food and shelter from the wilds, and paid homage to the world of nature around him that gave him everything he needed. Gaia has introduced many concepts to him: hypersexuality, the use of gold as currency, unrelenting greed and hate, and the fact that to be human is a rarity in Gaia that often leaves one considered as 'lesser.'

First and foremost is the most noticeable trait that has come to slowly shift in his persona: he has become more friendly with those around him. This isn't a paradigm shift away from his natural stoicism or tendency to spend time alone, but rather stems from the fact that he is mostly alone in Gaia, and even he has his limits. There are no other members of his tribe, or even other tribes - no one who shares his beliefs and customs. In an effort to try and find some sense of community after being exiled from his own, the brave has become more open to Gaia as a whole in an attempt to try and understand and coexist with its inhabitants.

Friendlier though he may be, he is still Deitric, and he is still calm, collected, and proud in his own way. He isn't particular boisterous, or even charismatic, but instead comes across as quiet and someone who enjoys his privacy. At times, he can seem rude, or even aloof in his lack of understanding and the way in which he doesn't let his emotions immediately control his actions like many Gaians do. His gaze is often stony, even bordering on solemn and introspective, and rare is it that anyone is ever allowed to pick at his inner thoughts through conversation. Hedonism and greed are largely missing from his personality - his people lived off the land, and this has instilled a strong sense of austerity in the warrior that much of Gaia lacks.

To his very core, Deitric is respectful and trusting of nature and the living, breathing world around him, and distrustful of the cold, lifeless concrete and steel of Gaian urban centers. While he has come to terms with mechanical ingenuity and technological advances (even going so far as to adopt many of them, such as the car, the cellphone, and the like), he still prefers his own traditional methods and prefers open space to cities. He also holds onto his own belief systems and customs, and doesn't like to share them with others at all, fearing they will try to twist his beliefs into some manner of ugly shadow of their true meaning.

Of arcane magics and non-humans, Deitric has come to regard them both as being somewhat untrustworthy until proven otherwise - with bloodlusting vampires, crazed demons, and all other manner of beings running around, it's hard for someone so foreign to these things to place his trust in them. Once he has identified such nonhumans or their magic as being beneficial, or at least not immediately harmful, he can come to respect or befriend them in time, but his immediate response to non-humans is almost always thinly veiled distrust. It's a stretch to say that he hates them, but they're certainly not something he's grown accustomed to.

Deitric is a stranger in a strange world, and slowly, bit by bit, he is elucidating himself on the matters of just what sort of place Gaia is outside of the fighting ring.

Appearance

  • Height: 6'3''
  • Weight: 238 lbs [looks 219 lbs]
  • Dominant Hand: Left; trained ambidextrous

XXXXXX-Description: Deitric stands tall around most others, rarely the shortest person in a room. He looks much like the people of his homeland - a light, smooth clay-red skin color and black hair that seems both coarse and smooth at the same time. His body is muscular, and some might say small for his weight - rather than being bulging with muscle, it seems as though he maintains a sort of feline litheness - like any hunting cat, he has pound for pound the same muscle as his prey, just packed on much more efficiently. Turquoise eyes, squinted from the sun, view the world from deep sockets, giving him a naturally serious look. With a strong, sharp nose, a strong jaw, and high cheekbones, Deitric strongly resembles those from whence he came, his facial features balanced and symmetrical. He typically wears his hair long and free-flowing, with the occasional warrior-braid on each side.

XXXXXX-Defining Features: Scars litter the warrior's body, some small, some large, but largely unseen beneath his clothing. The most largest being a vertical scar up the left side of his shoulder blade, and a scar going horizontally across them at the upper-most portion of that scar. A thin line runs over his left forearm, a faint remainder of an old sword wound that's barely noticeable except upon close inspection. Pale marks mar his knuckles from both battle and simple labour, and another scar is drawn over his right bicep. His most noticeable scar is just beneath his left eye, running along the cheek bone in a thin, horizontal line.

Long, twining vines of black ink make their way down his left arm from the shoulder in a weave of black etching and red skin. His eye color contrasts sharply with the tone of his skin, and is entirely unique among his people, who are typically born with green, brown, or hazel colored irises.

He generally has no odor (hooray for hygiene), or might smell of the woodlands at most. When he speaks, his voice is customarily stoic and comes across as calm and deep, with only a vague hint of gravelliness beneath it. Like his appearance, it invokes the idea of a noble savage or solemn, tribal nomad. When angry, however, it can be booming thunder, interspersed with whooping warcries and snarls of aggression.

XXXXXX-Mundane Clothing: Deitric's clothing varies constantly, based on where he is, what he's doing, and what the local climate. He usually sticks with simply clothing; blue jeans, boots, and work shirts.

His usual 'fighting attire' consists of: a black leather jacket, typically zipped up with a white V-neck underneath it, a pair of roughened blue jeans, a bandanna used as a headband, a pair of biker boots that have seen better days, and two or three belts. During the daytime, it isn't uncommon to see him wearing shades and a brown cowboy hat.

Generally an austere man, Deitric wears little in the ways of jewelry, but when he does, it is usually two bracelets of beads and worked bone in the same style as what might be found in his homeland, and an old jade pendant. Rings are rare, but ornaments in his hair - beads, trophies from battle - are not quite uncommon.

Abilities

  • Natural Abilities

XXXXXXIntelligent - Deitric is naturally an intelligent fellow. While not university-educated, he's curious by nature, and he's not slow on his feet. He spends a great deal of his relaxation time in contemplation, or reading, now that he has access to books; somewhat of an effort to educate himself of Gaia and its history and the background of its varying peoples. He's quick-witted, and can often times figure out most simple puzzles. His lack of mechanical experience though, leaves him at an impasse with technological problems greater than what he's used to.

XXXXXXStrong - By human standards, at least, Deitric is nearly Herculean, even for a man of his height and weight. While his strength (currently) does not exceed the human reaches of power, he does near that limit, which puts him on decent footing in the world of Gaia. [What this also means is that any character who weighs less than Deitric will never be stronger without magical or supernatural aid via an active ability. If your character weighs less, don't expect them to match or beat Deitric. More muscle mass will always mean more strength. Anime physics don't apply here.]

XXXXXXHuman Determination - Like the human race as a whole, Deitric can apply himself singularly to a task and throw his entire person behind it to try and accomplish it. His will to succeed and drive to continue forward gives him the ability to accomplish impressive feats, even by metahuman standards. His natural grit and iron will allow him to push through the pain of a wound and continue to fight - or at least try to at the best of his ability. However, that doesn't mean he cannot be beaten - Deitric can understand when he's bested. But being human means that he might not always listen to that voice in his head.

XXXXXXGaian Physique - Spending time around Gaia has steadily improved Deitric's physique in a responsive measure to the build-up of power around Gaia. This is what allows him to move just a split-second faster, to cover a distance just that much more quickly, or to add that last ounce of strength to his blow to contend with those around him. However, he isn't at the same level as a typical Gaian - he's still largely a human, and he hasn't quite realized that his time in Gaia is steadily adapting him to his new environment.

XXXXXXHearing - Years of hunting, combined with the time he's spent on Gaia, has made his hearing more acute. While he is by no means greatly enhanced, he can pick out faint noises very easily, and when there's a lot of noise around him, like in a city, he can pick out a single sound easier than if he hadn't spent those years hunting. His hearing is better than that of an average human, but not by a large margin, though it may become so in time.

XXXXXXSmell - Smell is the strongest scent tied to memory. As a hunter, and now a fighter, Deitric can place scents to people, things, and places very easily. His sense of smell isn't more acute than that of a human - rather, it acts as a sort of "photographic memory" for him, except he isn't relying on his eyes, he's relying on his sense of smell. Soil is a particular thing for him - soil from an evergreen forest on someone's boot will hold a different smell to it than that of hard, clay-filled soil of a grassland. While he can't up and pick up a scent, or follow a scent, he can readily identify and almost memorize them.

  • Fighting Style

XXXXXX► [Primary] Hawk and Fox - Hawk and Fox is the primary style of which Deitric utilizes in combat, taken with the basis of brave against brave combat used by his people and the other tribes around them. It is a rough mixture of fist fighting, grappling, and mixed weapon martial arts (knife, tomahawk, various clubs and bludgeons), utilizing the tomahawk as a striking, trapping, and grappling tool instead of just an axe. With weapons, it is generally more varied than the typical Gaian combat style, utilizing an open hand, or off-hand weapon for purposes other than just blocking. With no weapons present, the style is mostly punching, kneeing, and headbutting, with stand-up grappling and limb-trapping being used generously.

Wholly apart from Deitric's secondary style of combat, it is much more conservative, making to use as little energy as possible to lure in an opponent and bend their offensives back on them. It is so named "Hawk and Fox" because of its clever use of lures and things like trips and feints, and for the speed of its takedowns and grabs - most often with the hand in the shape of a splayed hawk's claw.

XXXXXX► [Secondary] Tempest's Fury - This is Deitric's own personal style of combat developed post-Gaia arrival; revolving around the mythos of his people: the raging storm. While he may start off in combat with calm, smooth movements with a clearly measured nature (regarded as the calm before the storm), he will steadily loosen his movements until they become quick, erratic, and unpredictable. His style revolves around power as much as it does speed, which is why it's best been utilized with one or two tomahawks as weapons. Once in the full flow of this style, Deitric can link several attacks to each other, rolling through combos and over defenses in his furious onslaught of attacks. This style is largely offensive, based around the concept that the strongest offense is the best defense. It is rarely used, except when Deitric has used Hawk and Fox to find an advantage where he can chain together multiple fist or tomahawk attacks.

  • Training

XXXXXXTactician - The fews years of warfare that Deitric experienced have given him a basic understanding of it; tactics, logistics, and morale. He isn't a five star general by any means, but he understands small-unit tactics, guerrilla warfare, and hit and run tactics. He is especially skilled in the use of calvary and night-time ambushes, given that most of the raids he partook in were from horseback.

XXXXXXNature's Ally - Deitric has a natural rapport with nature around him, and was trained to be in touch with the ground beneath its feet and the life that grows from it by the shamans of his people. He can forage for food, find natural herbs and poisons, build sufficient shelter, and in general just 'survive' out in the wilderness. He often feels more peaceful when surrounded by nature than in an urban locale, and he moves and acts easier when in the wild.

XXXXXXHunter - Deitric's profession, when not fighting or adventuring, is hunting. He has spent most of his life doing so, either to help provide for his tribe, sustain himself on his myriad of travels, or to sell furs and meat to caravans and villagers in the small urban centers he might wander through. His abilities to sneak and hide are best in the wild, but he understands how to move silently in most any environment to get the drop on an opponent or potential meal. In the wilderness, it is not uncommon for him to disappear and reappear from sight while moving.

XXXXXXAnimal Handler - As a hunter, nomad, and general woodsman Deitric's ability to communicate and train animals is considerable, albeit nowhere near on the same level as that of a druid or shaman. He can communicate verbally and with body language with a number of wild animals through physical and spiritual means, and can train or domesticate them if the opportunity presents itself. He is most experienced with birds, game animals in forests and grasslands, wolves, coyotes, bears, horses, and buffalo. Beyond these animals, his communicative abilities may still be of some aid, but he wouldn't be familiar enough to confidently train them as companions.

XXXXXXKhasmin Brave Training - As a warrior for his tribe, Deitric learned the basic usage of the spear, shield, knife, tomahawk, and bow. He was taught the most effective manner in which to bring a man down, but the movements were basic, and as all warriors from Khasmin, he was left to improvise once he caught the hang of his weapons. Given his people's affection for raids in the night, Deitric can fight well with little or no light to aid him, giving him near-blind-fighting skills. His training as a warrior in his tribe has also given him horseriding skills, not to mention considerable tolerance of pain, as training was done with bludgeons and live steel, and no punches were pulled.

  • Supernatural Abilities

XXXXXXThundersinger - Thundersinger is the name of Deitric's ability to generate and use electricity. Contrary to popular belief, he wasn't born with an affinity for the element - storms in general hold a revered position for his people, and thus lightning was the easiest form he could grasp. His lightning is actually a manifestation of the "Source" (see below), but it's still lightning, and he's still very much akin to a human generator. But the wellspring of power he draws from isn't elemental in nature, it is only manifested as such so that he can easily comprehend and wield it. This has given him an 'elemental affinity' of sorts, should he ever stop using his abilities.

Since HoH, Deitric has tightened his grip on his control, generation, pooling, and release of electricity, allowing him to store more of it and generate it at a faster rate. At his current level of control, he has begun to reach levels that could be fatal for an opponent - but reaching such a level of charge would be difficult. It's worth noting that he is not restricted by his moveset, and can use the energy to do a variety of things beyond those techniques, including physically empower himself.

[Note: As a rough measurement, he can put out a "signature attack" per two posts of charge. This can vary based on situation though, and may take more or less. In terms of fatality, it takes roughly five posts of charging and no use to kill a person. Minor things such as simply discharging electricity, recalling metallic items, and the like take considerably less energy.]

XXXXXXMinor Resistance; Electricity - Because of his abilities [see above], Deitric has a slight resistance to electricity. Most tasers and stun-guns don't affect him, but stronger currents can still harm him. Lesser electrical attacks merely aid in 'jump-starting' his own abilities, and often-times trigger his defensive response, which is the activation of his powers. The extent of his resistance has become stronger, and he can deal with harsher charges than before, though they may still cause some minor, reduced damage.

XXXXXXDestiny's Source - The true source of Deitric's Thundersinger abilities derives solely from him being a human in a distinctly inhuman world. Gaia's magical, psionic, and otherwise supernatural forces are so inherently strong that most humans develop their own powers to counteract this, via several means. This power usually manifests as electricity or lightning because Deitric can comprehend it easier, but in the purest form - rarely used, given the difficulty it takes to tap into it on a both physical and mental level - looks more akin to burning white-phosphorus, a divinely white fog-flame that causes a great deal of damage to any non-human who is touched by it. Deitric's grasp on this Source in its pure form is tenuous as best, something he can direct, but not truly control.

  • Signature Moves

XXXXXXShocking Grasp - Deitric summons a powerful current to just his hands, so that his grip becomes rather painful to whoever he grabs a-hold of. The strength is determined by the user, ranging from very light to strong enough to force someone's muscles to involuntarily convulse for the duration of the grip. Muscle convulsions may last afterwards if the duration is long.

XXXXXXDefensive Trigger: Electric Barrier - Not a barrier in a traditional sense, this ability is common when Deitric fights. When he's caught off-guard or caught by surprise, he often unconsciously begins emitting an electrical pulse which is generated around his body. Anyone who tries to come into contact with him will be electrocuted and forced to back away, unless they try to force past the pain and convulsions. This ability is usually very strong, because it's spawned from the human drive to survive in the face of an attack.

XXXXXXStorm of Spears - If Deitric has a spear, he can utilize this ability. He concentrates his power into the spear-arm and, keeping the energy pent up and ready before unleashing it, his arm and spear moving in a flurry of stabs. This is generally a defensive move, given that he can't move very well while attacking, but he can use it offensively when he needs to.

XXXXXXRolling Thunder - This is the hand to hand form of the Storm of Spears, and largely considered more powerful and versatile. Deitric channels his power into his upper body, especially his arms. He utilizes the energy to fuel a storm of flying fists; the speed, heat, and charge of electricity in the air around his attacks making it look as if he's throwing hundres of punches (as opposed to the real number of 1-2 dozen), giving it the nickname of "The Thousand Fist Combo."

XXXXXXThunder Drum - Easily the most simple (and versatile) attack Deitric can perform, he channels a small amount of energy into an arm (or leg, even) before loosing a single, strong attack with it. This attack generates a stunning amount of force in comparison to his normal ones, more than enough to drop someone regret it should they try and take it on the chin. Once the strike lands, an outward explosion of force is generated, along with a small "blast radius" of electricity [roughly the size of a basketball].

XXXXXXMaelstrom Spiral - Deitric's only true "finishing" move, is similar to the Thunder Drum attack in that it only requires the use of one hand. The main difference is the expenditure of energy and exactly how it manifests. Assuming he has enough energy generated or enough to expend, Deitric can pool it all into a single fist before attacking.

Once the attack has started, the energy begins to spiral in a cyclone fury from his fist and backwards, spilling over the warrior and the area around him. The attack hurls Deitric forward, enveloped in a swirling tempest of power. Anything in the way of the attack will usually be knocked back, and anything directly struck by the punch will feel the sudden reversal of the spiral, abruptly pushed back with an explosion of force and electricity.

XXXXXXHawk's Flight - This attack is usually aerial, used while jumping, or to move off the ground and into the air. The energy is centered around Deitric's attacking arm and back, manifesting in the shape of a hawk's beak and head, flying outward from the fist. However, it does more than that - it carries the warrior forward, either into the air or back down to earth, should he be aiming up or down. The attack is one of Deitric's only ''piercing'' attacks, as the beak of the hawk generates a great deal of force in a considerably small area, allowing Deitric to sometimes deal damage through armor, even though he might not penetrate it. Against unarmored flesh, he can sometime leave cuts and gashes.

XXXXXXEagle's Dance - With this attack, Deitric throws himself into a whirlwind of spinning motion, his tomahawks (or fists) whirling around as the warrior turns himself into a human cyclone of sharp steel and shocking electricity. This attack isn't very draining on Deitric, and generally used to drive an opponent back, should they be bearing too heavily on the tribesman for his tastes.

XXXXXXAxe-rang - Using his electrical charge, Deitric will "charge" his tomahawks before throwing them, usually intentionally missing before using the charge within his body to bring the axes back via the small charges he previously implanted within the axes. Useful for surprise attacks.

XXXXXXBlitzkrieg Knee - Similar to the Thunder Drum, Deitric channels his static power into his legs before letting the power explode outwards, propelling him forward for an explosively painful knee attack, which will usually discharge some amount of electricity on impact, depending on how powerful the attack is when used.

XXXXXXJackhammer from Hell - Aptly named for the sort of power delivered by the strike, this is one of Deitric's recently used techniques, and possibly one of the most self-destructive. Pooling whatever amount of energy he wishes to use into one arm, he releases it all at close range in a quick straight, mirroring the hammering motion of its namesake.

The energy released is extremely concentrated, and the result is usually spectacular for the opponent, to say the least. The more energy, the more potent the blast, but the damage it does on Deitric as "backlash" quickly builds up, and can result in broken knuckles, fingers, or even a broken arm. It has been named after the jackhammer because of the straight back-and-forth motion of the hammerhead, which the motion of the punch usually resembles. Used up close almost exclusively.

Equipment

  • Weapons

XXXXXX- Long-knife - A simple knife, roughly nine or ten inches of single-edged steel kept in a leather sheathe at his belt. The hand guard has a small curve over the top finger nearest it, keeping his fingers safe during parrying and blocking. The blade is long, wide at the bottom before sharply curving to a point, though the unsharpened side is straight, giving the blade a good cutting edge. Made of steel with an oak handle. Typically worn somewhere on the belt.

XXXXXX- Tomahawks

XXXXXX- Gunstock Club - This weapon was made by Deitric in his travels through-out Gaia. The weapon is carved of a native wood to Gaia, and is notoriously hard to break; grinding the wood to shape proved to be much easier. Roughly three feet in length and taking a rough cue from the stock of a rifle, the club has three, five-inch blades of steel inserted into the outward bend of the striking portion, each blade made roughly two inches in width. The weapon is usually worn on his back, a leather strap around his torso keeping it in place.

  • Armor

XXXXXX- [Custom] Light Brigadine Armor - This armor is a form of brigandine, made from two pieces of leather and some well-placed metal in the form of a cuirass. As opposed to a great deal of metal on the inner portion of the armor, a metal mesh has been placed between the two layers of cured, tough leather. Small, thick plates (1x2 in size, roughly, and surprisingly thick) plates have been set into the front side of the armor as well, protecting key places while retaining a very light weight and the ability to be worn under something like a leather jacket. Comes with bracers and greaves.

  • Misc

XXXXXX- Magical Auspex - Deitric carries a small pocket-watch with him. While it can't actually read time, it can detect large concentrations of magic and alert him to them by vibrating. Given the age of the keepsake, it only picks up major spells and rituals. Typical spells and summonings might be read, but won't cause the watch to vibrate.

XXXXXX- Supplies - Deitric typically carries some herbal and survival supplies. Tinder, jerky, flint stones, and various herbs and dried plants that might aid against poisons or rashes gained while traveling through the wilderness. A random amount of gold and a cellphone have been added to this, thanks in part to Gaia's modernization of the tribesman's habits. Bandages, sports tape, and aspirin can also be found in one his belt pouches.

XXXXXX- Pendant - Deitric wears a small pendant of jade, the size of the actual "amulet" portion being no more than a quarter or half-dollar piece. It lacks any sort of inscription, suggesting it is of simple make, or merely too old to retain any of its markings any longer.

XXXXXX- Thyssel Bark - Thyssel Bark comes from the Thyssel Tree native to Khasmin. It's crimson in hue, and when stripped of the tough outer-layer, is pliable and edible. It's generally considered to be fairly sappy, meaning that it's dried or lightly roasted to make it easier to deal with. It's typically steeped in water, or chewed like tobacco.

The reason it's a world apart from his usual supplies is its healing properties - Chewing thyssel bark or drinking the water steeped from it will allow a person to regenerate faster than normal. Its effects are minor, but one can heal from flesh wounds after a weekend or so of rest, rather than several weeks. While it graver wounds won't heal completely in that time, it still aids in the healing process. While chewing the bark allows for a greater concentration of its healing effects, it will often leave the user's teeth tinged red, and extended, casual use can stain them permanently.

History

  • The Beginning [0-10 yrs] (I)

Deitric was born To'mo-a-too'ah on November nineteenth, just at dawn. Born into the patriarchal lineage which lead his particular tribe of people, Deitric would already have his path set before him to lead his people, when the time came. From the age he learned to walk, he was sat on a horse. From the time he could speak, he was taught the oral traditions of his people, their history, beliefs, and customs. His training with the chosen weapons of his people - the medicine shield, the lance, and the tomahawk - began around the age of seven. At this time, his people still roamed the lands, and did not live in any set location.

  • Youth [10-15] (II)

Seasons waxed and waned as years passed, and the youth's training both intensified and expanded. He still spent great deals of time on horse-back, learning to fight, travel, and live atop the beast. He was taught how to track and hunt game, and the shamans of his people began his tutelage in listening to the whispers of the earth around him. He continued to live on the move with his people, staying in each place for only small amounts of time, as peace still reigned over the plains.

  • Rites of Passage [15-15] (III)

At the age of fifteen, the rites of manhood came to fall upon the youth, and he left his people for a time. Taking only a horse with supplies, a lance, and a tomahawk, the warrior set off towards the North, to where his people's Medicine Lodge lay. The whispers of the earth around him guided him along, showing him game and plants to survive on, while avoiding other tribes along the way.

The youth managed to survive his trip, and entered the lodge, hanging his weapons on the outside, entering the building unarmed. With no food or water, he sat within the lodge, letting his mind slip into a deep trance. Days passed as he remained within, patiently waiting. Slowly, a new voice began to creep into his mind, both unlike and similar to the voice of the earth and the plants.

This voice was older by far, and visions began to fill up the black void of the trance. Images of rolling thunderclouds, lightning, and a darkened sky set upon his mind. Electricity poured through his body, cackling along the walls and ceiling. kept in place, unwilling to move, or even unable to. The electrical storm died away without a sound. The youth opened his eyes, and sitting across from him was a shadowed human, wearing the skins of a buffalo and the headdress of the beast. When the figure rose, however, he was much too tall to be any human that To'mo had met.

God, this being claimed to be. Deitric believed him, as the being moved closer. He tapped the youth's forehead, filling his mind with knowledge of the base materials that had created his people - dust from the earth, the thunder and the lightning. Blackness enveloped him, and the young tribesman slumped backwards.

He awoke sometime later, unknowing of the passage of time (only a two or three days, in all truth), but he found himself alone, with no buffalo-man to speak of. However, he felt something new within him - buzzing, cackling electricity, waiting to be released. He heard to calls of the earth and its children even more keenly than before, no longer a whisper, but a plain, calm voice. The youth rose from his prone position on the dusty ground, making his way outside. He found his horse and weapons, and began to make his way back home with all the speed he could muster.

As the youth traveled, however, he found that something new had taken upon the Khasmin plains. War, bloody skies with fires in the horizon and smoke in the distance. On his way home, he found many new things - standing buildings, settlements, mining facilities, white men who hunted buffalo as well as his people, men wielding strange magics and technology. These things confused him, and he hurried himself along, eager to find his people again.

  • Counting Coup-- The Summertime War [15-20] (IV)

Upon finding his tribe, he found them to be in a sore state - destitute and waging war on all sides from both the settler-invaders and the tribes who had allied with them. His father had been injured, and another man, Latna-kas was acting as the tribal leader. He passed the Regalia to Deitric in the hopes that it would galvanize their people to see someone wielding their heirlooms again, but Latna still retained leadership, given his experience and level head. Latna-kas and the youth's father decided that it would be best to try and sway the other tribes to unite to fight off the settlers, and Latna suggested that Deitric fight the best warrior of each opposing tribe to try and gain their confidence.

While his people continued to retreat, tracing through their ancestral homelands, Deitric and Latna traveled to each opposing tribe, challenging their best to a ritual combat trial in return for an alliance against the settlers. Deitric had one primary advantage over the other tribal warriors he faced - none of them had been touched be what he thought to be Wata-Na'tonka, the collective deity that all Khasmin tribes worshiped. Unable to put out such a supernatural power as he could, Deitric found himself able to best the other warriors where he himself would have been laid low. Slowly but surely, the tribes began to unite under Latna-kas and Deitric, who now stood as his protege in learning the ways of diplomacy and war.

Soon after, the collective tribes turned their angry eyes onto the source of all their conflict and suffering - the invaders. As a whole, the tribes washed over the settlements and pre-fab homes of the settlers, led by the tribal chieftains of each of the various tribes. Deitric served beneath Latna-kas and his father; even though he'd aided greatly in uniting the tribes, he wasn't a leader, and so the youth took the role of a brave, following his elders in lightning fast raids against the settlers.

Over the next five years in what was to be called "The Summertime War," Deitric followed the warpath with his people and their allies, steadily pushing back the menace of the invading settlers who had threatened to wipe his people out. Under Latna-kas and the other tribal leaders, he learned the ways of war - the closest thing he had to learning the ways of being a leader, as those around all assumed he would become chief, as the eldest son of the Nek'wa-tut. Slowly but surely, the settlers were pushed back to the sea, and out of the Khasminic plains, leaving the tribes there to re-build and try to return to their way of life.

  • Leaving the Plains [20-21] (V)

Thanks to the intervention of the settlers, Deitric's tribe, and the others of the Khasmin Plains knew of a world beyond the mountain ranges, forests, and seas that had helped keep their land virgin and fertile. The tribes began to build small outposts and defenses, leaving traps for the unwary in the forest, along with watchers among the sea. Unable to believe that his people would be safe with such small counter-measures, Deitric spoke to his father and the council of elders for the Ketu-a-nec, hoping to persuade them to let him do as he planned. His father offered encouragement, though the tribal elders did not. For Deitric to leave the tribe and enter the unknown beyond the plains with the Regalia of the Plains was unthinkable - but, as the elders would find, the blooded warrior did it anyways.

Unwilling to take a horse from his people, he merely took what supplies he laid his name to and left the Plains, making his way north-east to the mountain passes above his people's medicine lodge, disappearing within the gray peaks. His travels are random and meandering as he wanders around Gaia, seeking to learn and mature before returning to his people, perhaps with a better way to defend them against the settlers who'd come before.

  • Gaian Beginning [21] (VI)

For the past several months, Deitric has been traveling through the realm of Gaia, learning what he can and has slowly become modernized. Traveling from place to place, the tribesman has been harried by vile creatures such as vampires and demons, and has been forced to travel in the wilderness, living off the land as he once did. However, he found that his abilities in the wild were no longer as powerful as they were in Khasmin - he could summon a tree forth with only severe concentration, and it took longer for the spirit guides to answer his calls. From the times he could stay around other humans, or at least peaceable humanoids, he got wind of a massive, Gaia-wide tournament; Heaven or Hell. Now, Deitric seeks Leviathan Stadium, hoping to find out more and perhaps even to join.

  • Exploration [21-22] (VII)

Upon entering the Leviathan Stadium, Deitric was challenged by a massive warrior by the name of "John." Their fight, though brutally quick and straight-forward, revealed much to the youthful Deitric - Gaians were much hardier folk than he imagined, able to take and dole out punishment unlike most other beings he'd encountered. However, in his time wandering Gaia, he's found that his own abilities were becoming more enhanced - his skin toughening, strength and speed increasing, reflexes sharpening. In his wanderings he has fought a second Gaian - Grimm. After fighting each other to a draw, Grimm offered Deitric a chance to join his team for the Heaven or Hell tournament. The tribesman has accepted the invitation, and now travels with his teammates for the time being.

  • Intermission - Frostchild [22] (VIII)

Sometime in his wanderings between meeting Grimm and the Heaven or Hell Tournament, Deitric had been approached by the Greywater Company to take part in a mercenary action in Gaia; the investigation of a city known as "Frostchild." Deitric accepted, but was forced to tarry elsewhere, arriving late on the scene of the deserted city. Soon after he arrived, the cities inhabitants returned as some sort of robotic zombies. Deitric and a handful of other Greywater mercenaries fended them off while exploring the palace post-Goddess-death, until the Khasmin warrior was discovered by Bryant.

Under the influence of the Anti-field, Deitric took his chance to attack the suspicious professor (who had shown some means of controlling the monstrosities), but the man was entirely unphased by his attack thanks to the fact that some residual Unity Field still coated his person. Deitric managed to use the odd tilt of the building to throw himself past after the attack, however, and plunged out of a window to the grown below; unfortunately knocking himself unconscious and suffering a few injuries on the way down.

Sometime after, Deitric managed to pick himself up and make his way into the nearby woods, but when the city began to sink, he decided it best to make his exit. To date, he still holds little understanding as to the events that transpired, as the majority of his time in the city was spent fighting off mecha-zombies.

  • Heaven or Hell 08 [22] (IX)

Deitric entered the third Heaven or Hell Tournament with James Eredas, a human martial artist with an affinity for fire, and a devilbreed by the name of Dragosani Kain under the motif of Team Bloodfire. As a team, the trio were completely unknown to at the beginning of the tournament, but by the end, they had managed to carve out some measure of respect for themselves as fighters.

Taking the first round as a victory against Clashing Elements, Deitric and his team took a loss by a hair's breadth against Team Airstrike, though Deitric managed to win his second fight by KO, putting him at a personal record of two wins, and zero losses. In the third round, Bloodfire was pitted against Bloody Pandas, but complications with the ship that was their battle stage ensured that very little fighting happened. The judges voted in favor of Bloodfire, allowing the team to gather a second wind and fight again in the Fourth Round.

Deitric defeated his fourth round opponent, a samurai by the name of Kuroha in a series of hard fighting spanning the entire Bathhouse in which they fought, and his team advanced with the win that Kain, the Bloodfire captain, also managed to take against the captain of Pwnt. As the fifth round came, the team was forced to fight Bloody Pandas again in a miniature city, ending with the destruction of the replica and with two double KOs, with a single win going to Bloody Pandas - enough of an advantage to send Bloodfire home.

With two losses, Deitric said goodbye to his teammates and set out to begin training for next year's tournament - and to visit his homeland.

  • Homecoming-- Power-Outage [22] (X)

Upon completing his participation in the Heaven or Hell tournament, Deitric promptly turned his eyes and feet homeward. He returned to Khasmin for several weeks, traveling the common herding trails of his people until he found his tribe. Having taken their leadership symbols, the warrior promptly returned them to his tribe; his father being the actual chief. It was at this time Deitric received the Auspex, a small piece of technology retrieved from the ruins of a settler town.

However, the council of elders were not happy with his actions, and thusly ordered that Deitric must be exiled for three years from contact with the tribe for his actions. His father passed the leadership of the tribe on to Deitric's brother, who would act as regent until Deitric's exile was rebuked. The brave took his leave of Khasmin again, aiming to return to Gaia and find begin training for the upcoming Heaven or Hell, and any other trials of combat he could find to occupy his attention until the time came that he could return home.

On his way back to the rest of Gaia, Deitric encountered the man with the buffalo head-dress again. The being didn't speak with Deitric, but instead attacked him, striking him down where he stood. As soon as the shaman in the white-buffalo headdress touched him, Deitric was knocked unconscious, sent plummeting through a world of harsh, flaring white. The world spun, echoing voices calling out. Each one commanding for him to do one thing - open his eyes. Open his eyes, and take what was his to use.

Deitric awoke a few short hours later, just outside of Durem. He could still feel the buzz of electricity in him, but now the source of the power was much more defined - he not only understood it, but he could reach past the manifestation that the source presented to him and touch the true power at his disposal - something far greater than a mere spark.

In a world where powers far beyond human comprehension reign, humans are in short supply, and rarely able to contend with the supernatural around them. In response to the stimulus of the world around him, Deitric has tapped into the source of power that has given humanity the ability to create wonders and re-invent itself with each new civilization, and it manifests itself in him as the control over electricity. Armed not only with a true source of power, but with a new drive to become better, the Khasmin tribesman as returned to training throughout Gaia.

  • Gaian Training and the GTB II [22] (XI)

Rumor spread like wildfire in Gaia of an upcoming tournament, the second Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai. Word quickly reached the tribal warrior, as did rumors of who would join. Deitric continued his travels, and sought out whatever warrior he could to fight. He crossed paths with Jack Nozima, another Heaven or Hell participant, and the two battled it out beneath the Zackrodesiac Bar, with Deitric coming out on top, albeit singed and sore. He continued on his travels until an invitation made its way to him; he had been chosen to fight in the GTB II, having garnered the owner's attention with his exploits.

With the Psi Nine crew in tow (who had yet again found the tribesman), Deitric made his way to the GTB Coliseum. With little regards paid to the media, he made himself at home in the room offered to him, and prepared for the coming battles.

    ~Round One

In his first round, Deitric was paired against another newcomer, Kai Ethrale. However, the lithe man seemed more happy to hop and dance about, as opposed to actually fighting. In response, Deitric merely stood back and waited, and his opponent bowed out.

    ~Round Two

In the second round, the lightning warrior duked it out with a psychic warrior by the name of Akechi, a friend of Deitric's former teammate, James Eredas. Their stage was a giant bouy amidst a small sea, making balance much more harder to maintain. In the brutal mayhem, Deitric snapped the man's leg at the knee, but the psychic refused to give. After a few embattled seconds, Deitric managed to throw the man to the ground from on high, knocking him unconscious. However, on his descent the warrior smashed down and dislocated his right shoulder, though he popped it in and spent the time between the fights recuperating.

    ~Round Three; Quarter Finals

The third round came, and with it the human dynamo was paired against a man by the name of Katsu, a martial artist of sorts with a penchant for trying to put people in any sort of submissive hold he could. Deitric scored first blood, delivering a knee to the face of his opponent, and from there the fight devolved into a brawl, though Deitric seemed to retain the upper-hand in the icy arena. While the fight came to no conclusive end after Deitric's explosive destruction of one of the giant ice-blocks, the judges saw fit to advance the Khasmin man to the next round.

    ~Round Four; Semi-finals

In the fourth round of the GTB II, Deitric found himself up against one of the best fighters in the entire tournament - the giant dragonkin Murdoch. Unable to contend with the massive beast's impressive physical prowess, Deitric was forced to unleash the Source of his static powers on the inhuman fighter, throwing a barrage of white-hot attacks at his opponent. The fight was hardbitten, but near the buzzer Deitric had slowly gotten the upper-hand, though he suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder again in the process. Again-- the judges saw fit to advance him.

    ~The Finals

Prior to the Finals of the tournament, Deitric sought out his opponent - one Omi Barsait, a previous competitor in the tournament. After his fight against the dragonkin, Deitric sought to make a deal with the other finalist; that the finals would be fought in hand to hand, with nothing beyond what they could do with their two hands. Omi agreed and now the stage was set.

Deitric and Omi clashed atop the stone platform of the original Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai, attacks and counters cutting the air between them. The two warriors delivered blow after blow, and the fight seemed to be deadlocked until the the tribesman seemed to anticipate the other fighter's counter - a knee and elbow combo. The red-skinned fighter took his advantage and smashed Omi's right leg, smashing the bone in his shin and ruining the knee. Despite all odds, the other finalist rose to continue the fight, but fortunately the buzzer was called before anymore damage could be done to the crippled leg. The judges discussed and delegated, and when the Closing Ceremonies came, Deitric was named the Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai II champion.

Taking his prize, the tribesman quickly left the scene, continuing on his travels through Gaia, leaving the media in the wake of his 'cycle as he sought his next challenge.

  • Second Home [22] (XII)

Having used a portion of his winnings to by a parcel of land near the village of Arkhell, Deitric is currently living in an abandoned church he has fitted out as livable. The warrior has spent several months getting to know the local population, as well as throwing himself even further into the training of his mind, body, and the powers that he can manifest.

It's assumed that somewhere around this time, a representative of the reclusive fighter Reiko Sakagami approached Deitric with the offer of fighting with Crawley in the upcoming Heaven or Hell tournament.

  • Calm Before the Storm - REDEMPTION [22-23] (XIII)

Deitric, upon joining as a member of REDEMPTION, isolated himself for the last shreds of autumn, honing his physical abilities for the tournament to come. Upon his team's application, his preliminary opponent would be Sunstrike, one of the former members of Glacier. The fight was indecisive, but the tribesman walked away feeling that he held the upper hand throughout the match.

Soon thereafter, each Redemption member was sent a message, indicating that their team had been accepted into Heaven or Hell. The tournament was set to begin within the next month or so.

  • Raging Tempest: Heaven or Hell 09; REDEMPTION [23] (XIV)

    ~Round One

REDEMPTION versus Random Select. Deitric fought an earth user by the name of Damion. Whilst the man proved to be a slippery and dangerous opponent (even giving Deitric the now noticeable scar beneath his left eye), the tribesman eventually pinned him to the ground to try and end the fight, but time was called before he could manage it. His teammate Duc ran into similar problems, the man and his opponent tearing into each other until time called.

At the end of the day, Round One was called in favor of Team Redemption.

    ~Round Two

Round Two set REDEMPTION against Team Britain, headed by a former opponent, Katsu. However, the team's leader didn't show up, nor did their ever-present armored 4th member, leaving the last two members to fight Duc and Deitric.

Almost flawlessly, both REDEMPTION fighters managed to pin their opponents to the ground and beat them unconscious, though the tribesman had a harder time of it as his opponent had thrown a dust-mixture into his eyes to blind him. However, she was unable to capitalize on it, and the warrior eventually came out on top.

    ~Eliminations; First [Round Three]

Picked up by Heaven or Hell's black suited security personnel, Deitric was taken to a warehouse in an unknown location and pitted against the Eliminator Gamma, who wore a full suit of plate armor designed to ward off the brave's powers. In imitation of his previous two bouts, the tribesman found a way to force the armored man onto the ground, ripping his helmet off to try and end the fight.

Despite shattering the man's skull (or a ceramic replacement piece, anyways), the warrior found himself fighting a nearly unstoppable man who seemed to feel no pain. Eventually, the tribesman found a way to defeat the man by locking him in a storage crate where he eventually lost consciousness, but it came at a heavy cost; broken ribs, a broken arm and cracked shoulder-blade, and more than his fair share of bruises and burns.

The warrior was taken to the Black Sands Bar to recuperate with magical aid from the owner.

    ~Round Four

Round Four found REDEMPTION fighting another highly touted team; Team Eclipse. Deitric was set to fight Stephen Lasanti. The two men battled across the clocktower they fought in, steadily tearing it (and each other) apart in the brawl. It was only by a split second that Deitric managed to win the bout after bearhugging his opponent into submission and pulling himself up on the railing of one of the walkways.

REDEMPTION continued its winning streak, and found itself against another Eliminator.

    ~Eliminations; Second [Round Five]

Lazenca and a 'pack' of wulfs acted as Eliminators this round. While they had attempted to go after Crawley, Deitric had managed to smash one into a tree with a lightning blast, nearly putting the wulf out of the fight. However, before anything could be done, the fight was over, leaving Reiko's student eliminated. However, it wasn't a terrible blow; the man had yet to fight, and both Deitric and Duc had shown their capabilities at getting their team ahead.

    ~ Round Six

Round Six set REDEMPTION against HNG. Two close matches followed between Katie and Duc, and Deitric and Ebris in their third rematch. REDEMPTION barely managed to edge out a win against HNG, who they would eventually find themselves pitted against in the finals.

    ~Finals

Despite a valiant attempt in the finals, it was impossible for REDEMPTION to pull out a win; Mr Crawley had died at some mysterious time prior to his match, and Ray never showed up. As such, the team was forced to forfeit and the prize money for second place was split between Duc and Deitric, 1.25 million gold pieces apiece.

  • Rest [23] (XV)

After Heaven or Hell, Deitric went home to Arkhell, investing two hundred and fifty thousand gold pieces into the village, allowing it to expand, becoming a noted trading stop for passing merchants and a safe haven for caravans. While it retained its identity as a rustic village, it became more popular for its renowned surrogate tribesman and for its position on the trade route between the northern and southern settlements.

During this time, the brave took time off to rest and recuperate, while training a hawk and trying to teach himself more about Gaia on the whole.

  • GTB III; Defending the Title [23] (XVI)

"!"

All fled, all done, so lift me on the pyre;
The feast is over and the lamps expire;
Took the crown and now I retire.

Deitric's Holdings

A 'miscellaneous section' for things that don't fit in the actual profile.

Wealth: (approximately) 1,030,000 gold ; roughly 280,000 in assets.

Income: Varies; dependent on current standing in tournaments, and availability of mercenary work. Based on hunting/jewelry making alone, monthly income can range from 50 to 600 gold pieces. Supplemented by interviews with Channel 'Psi' Nine anchorman Jonnie Farragut, which provides roughly 3000 to 8000 gold per interview, dependent on length, coverage, and current events. Recently took second in the Heaven or Hell tournament; prize money was split between Duc and Deitric, giving each of them roughly 1.25 million gold. Invested .25 million into the village of Arkhell.

Expenditure: Varies, usually less than 80-300 gold per month. During travel/prize fighting, can rise upwards 2000+ gold per round of whatever tournament he's taking part in, thanks to medical, travel, and repair expenses.

POSESSIONS

Current Whereabouts: Arkhell

PETS

XXXXXX- Tama - Deitric's first pet in Gaia is the Gaian variant of a red panda, seemingly mixed with a raccoon for an odd sort of animal. The creature can be considered tame for all intents and purposes, and seems to be rather intelligent. Deitric has taken to calling it "Oulagohuu" (or simply "Huu" for short), the word in his people's language for Autumn. When he's out of combat, the small creature is typically somewhere about, despite the fact he's tried to get it to stop following him on several occasions.

XXXXXX- Falcon - Deitric has successfully tamed and domesticated a falcon local to Arkhell. Unlike a falconer, he does not utilize a hood for training, and as such the animal is never seen wearing anything other than a thin silver anklet for identification. It responds to "Arl", and has been trained for hunting. The bird comes and goes from Deitric's home, and sometimes can be seen following him. Like any animal Deitric tames, he can communicate with it while its within hearing distance and understand the noises it makes that are usually unintelligible to humans.
