Ever wonder where that little feeling of nostalgia comes from? What causes it and what is it's purpose? There are so many different things that bring waves of this feeling to me. Music, surroundings, objects. If you ever go through a place you've neglected to visit since your childhood, you know exactly what I'm talking about. That rush of memories. That anxious, stabbing feeling through your stomach and heart. It causes you to pause and remember the good times as well as the bad.

I remember there was an event I attended right before I graduated high school. It was a small "farewell and good luck" party thrown by the fine teachers of my elementary school. I walked through that building for the first time since I left it that day. I remember wiping away a few tears. I wandered around that school soaking in the memories and feelings that still lingered in those walls. It was one of the best things I could do before I relinquish my childhood and venture into "The Real World". Hell, me and a few old friends of mine even played on the playground.
Nothing can take away those good times.

I suppose this is how an elderly person at a class reunion must feel...
