8:55 PM Late posting this - but better late than never.

Last night I had a wonderful dream. I can't remember all of it, so I'll try and think of what I can.

The dream involved me and most of my immediate family going to some restaurant. Except, it wasn't just us, but a few classmates as well as a professor or two I've had in college (the one I remember was Larry from my Life Drawing class). I ordered this meal of two chicken and broccoli, a salad, and large popcorn shrimp. I sat at a table with my mother and we began eating. She had to get up and go to the bathroom, so I was alone at the table, conversing with my classmates from another. I was then called out from my professor, and told I had to go to the bathroom because they needed my help. I remember make a joke – there was these two doors, one that read downstairs and one that read “princesses”, instead of Ladies or something, and I joked about hoping I didn't have to go through that door because I certainly wasn't a princess. Got a good laugh out of that from my peers so it made me happy. Was led down this staircase and arrived at this dingy bathroom, only to hear the sounds of someone throwing up, crying, someone trying to comfort them, and the horrid stench that came with that. My mother was down there with a girl, and the girl was just barfing away. I went over and began to rub her shoulders and back, thinking this would help calm her down – and gave her support by telling her everything was going to be ok. When the girl finally calmed down, she thanked us. I left to go back to my plate while my mother stayed to help her out any further and make sure everything was ok. When I got back, my plate had been cleared and another family was sitting there... Talk about freakin rude service! Course, guess it was to happen since there wasn't anyone there, nor any indication that there were still people eating there. I went up to the counter and told the girl there that I had been sitting there, and that I still had some shrimp, a chicken and broccoli, and the salad left, and was wondering if I could get another. I don't think she heard me.

I remember I was called back again, and so downstairs I went. I arrived to find the girl in roller skates, with a roller rink right underneath. I asked why we couldn't do the one upstairs (did I forget to mention there was one upstairs? Probably did...), and was told that this rink was for those who were disabled...or something like that. So I guess the girl was disabled somehow? Well, anyways, she wanted me to go out onto the rink with her. However, I only had my normal shoes on and I know they don't allow people to go onto the rink without rollerskates. So she was going to carry me onto the rink, but I declined and she instead skated over to where the skate seller was on the other side, meanwhile I walked around the long ways. Before I could get my skates, we both were told that my family was departing and I had to leave. The girl was sad that I had to go, but I promised to see her again when I visited.
I went up... and that's when the dream took a turn. We were getting our stuff ready, when my grandmother materialized before my mother, my sister, myself and my father. We were in tears, and we told her how much we missed her. She told us how much she missed us too and told us not to cry because she'd start crying. We talked about things, like how my grandmother and mother had short nails, how my sis was doing in school, things like that. I remember she checked out her hands and adjusted her fingers, only to see the ring my grandfather had given her. She took it off her spectral finger and gave it to my mother; seeing the ring made me lose it. My grandmother told my mom that she didn't need the ring anymore where she was, and to hold onto it. She eventually departed, but there were still so many things I wanted to talk to her about. I didn't even get to tell her how much I loved her, even though the rest of my family had.

At this time, it could also have been noted that only we saw my grandmother, and that I'm guessing everyone else thought we had lost our minds. We left the restaurant and were going downhill when it happened again... Grandma returned, but this time only for me. She didn't come alone, as she was accompanied by this taller man, and this woman... who was but an upper torso...I talked with her and she did this odd, morbid joke... She took the torso and put it on her hand and acted like it was a puppet... Apparently we all found it funny because we laughed. In the back of my mind, I was getting upset, worrying that grandmother had found another man up in Heaven, instead of waiting for my grandfather. My fear would come to rest when she explained that the torso was her cousin (I recall the woman having short hair, brown eyes), and that the gentleman was either her brother or her cousin – I forget... It was then that my grandmother turned to me and said... “You know, I will always love you, Stefan”, and I cried and said “I always will love you too grandma”. After this, she disappeared again, and did not return. Perhaps all that needed to be said had finally been said... I was glad that I got to tell her how much I loved her, and likewise had gotten a response (even though I was actually the one responding). My aunt brought up that she knew that look I gave, and said it was a joke her mom (aka, my grandma) used to play... or something... The old “Hook on the hand” routine? I dunno, it was weird, but I remember being so surprised that I grabbed her, shook her, and said “Yes! Yes! That's exactly what she did!”

At this time, I remembered that I had paid for food that I didn't get, so I excused myself from the group and ran back up to the restaurant. I remember one of the workers was out, calling for somebody, with two “to go” boxes. Neither of them were mine, nor was the person she was calling me, so I went inside. I went up to the counter and asked about my order, and to my surprise the woman pulled out a box and gave it to me. She HAD listened after all, and when I opened it up there were all the items I had asked for. The restaurant was closing, since they had a guy clearing things off tables and getting rid of the spices/dressings/etc. I asked him where he had put the Ranch dressing, since my salad didn't have any, and... well... he told me he put it downstairs, in the supply closet, near where that bathroom was that my mother and I had helped that girl calm down and stop throwing up... We both crinkled our noses and agreed it wasn't worth it lol. I didn't want to smell that barf smell again. I headed out and caught back up with my family, who were all waiting for me on the small walkway.

In the final parts of the dream, my family walked down the hill until the ground leveled. As it did, it opened up to our condo down in Florida, and it started to rain... I had a pseudo vision... I saw... my grandmother and my grandfather, out in the rain. They were mid-age to old age I think, with my grandmother in these sortof “bear skin” pantyhose (I use bearskin because that is what someone brought up in the group) and an outfit with some gloves and one of those knee-high skirts (it felt like a sundress). She had on one of those old wicket hats that had the red lace/bow/ribbon wrapped around them. Next to her was my grandfather, a lot thinner than he is now, but I recognized his combed over hairstyle, and found it funny that he had a really bad toupee on that seemed to just float over his hair. He was dressed in his normal attire, but again, he was thinner so it looked different on him. They were holding hands, and walking in the rain. Both were holding each other's hand as they walked. They broke into a jog when they neared a patch of palm trees and ran underneath them for cover. The apparitions disappeared soon after this... I don't understand why they showed up in the first place...

We made it to the condo, my mother and myself ran in first. We thought the elevators were broken, until...in our stupor... we remembered you have to PRESS one of the elevator buttons to have it come. I pressed it, and one opened up – in reality, there is a water fountain in the wall when you enter the condo, but in my dream, this was replaced by a third elevator. I bolted into this smaller elevator and was waiting for my mom when she told me to just go on ahead. Again, stupidy struck as I went ahead and didn't push a button. Went up to floor 3, which isn't our floor, because I guess somebody had pushed the button up there... No one was there so I pushed 4 and waited. When the doors opened... wow... looked like something out of Las Vegas. The condo had completely changed and there were these long halfways filled with high class people and gold lining and chandeliers and more. I walked down one way, I guess believing this was the right way based on instinct (wtf?)... I remember passing by this aquarium that had these tiny fish in it... and then this one HUGE fish in it too, with teeth, and spikes, and it was eel-like... Around here my dream ended for me. This has been one of the very few dreams that I was able to remember in such detail, and I'm glad. A lot happened in this dream, a lot of meaning behind this, and I feel I was even able to communicate with my grandmother and tell her my feelings. I woke up, and I remembered, and my eyes teared up. I had a good cry after this... I'm happy... Well, that's all for today's entry. Talk with everyone later.
