There's been a lot going on since my last journal entry. Well, here it goes. *deep breath*
As I forgot to tell you all, I made region choir. That's a really big deal, by the way. 114 girls auditioned for 30 chairs in a zone. And guess who made top 10! blaugh I made chair 10. sweatdrop Still, that's really good. The clinic for Region took FOREVER. We sung for 5 hours straight, standing up, until lunch. We played games for the half hour lunch- some kid sneaked in a Frisbee. We had a balloon pop relay, too. It was hard for me (I'm afraid of loud noises) but my team won.
And, as usual, Bush had more kids than any other school in 2 districts. 89 kids were bush kids- out of about 225. And 29 schools brought kids to audition. So, yeah. We hauled everyone else through the rehearsal.
We sung The Lord Bless You and Keep You, which is right up there on my favorite songs of all time meter. It was beautiful. A few parents cried.
And, only a few hours ago, my volleyball team won the championship game! The Comets (no we didn't get to choose our team name) came behind from 3rd place our of four teams to 1st place in a timespan of 45 minutes! I landed 11 serves, 3 bumps, and... I attempted a spike. ATTEMPTED. I helped my teammates out, I'd like to think. If I couldn't get it, I tried to make it to where someone could.
Sami did a pretty sweet job, too. She got way more over than I did, and she was really controlled with her bumps and spikes. I was so proud of her!
Holly got her eye knocked out by Sami. It was a pretty hard hit with the base of her hand. Sami felt really bad, but Holly's better now. I think.
Mackenzie made me laugh too much. She rocks, but she distracted me a lot. Even though that's not saying much because I have ADD, but still! I love her anyway. Mackenzie is awesome.
Tiffany was awesome! She got almost all of her serves over deep, she bumped it in exactly the right place, and she was a good sport. Yay Tiff!
Yeah, we got these really cheesy painted gold medals for winning. Right now my mom is clinging to it for dear life.
Love you mom!
Your Lord and Master, Lois
