On a dark night,
not so long time ago,
there was an orphan girl,
amling through abode.
She saw the lights,
those colours so bright.
She saw the people,
filled with delight.
She looked through windows,
with amaze in her eyes.
The laughter, the music
and the warmth, so nice.
The girl watched all this,
wondering, why?
Everyone had joy, friends and family,
how come she didn't have any?
She knocked one door,
another after another,
wishing that someone
would welcome her.
No one came,
no one opened the door.
Girl shouted and begged,
that someone would help a poor.
No one heard her cry,
no one saw her weep.
She began to sink,
in her sorrow so deep...
On the night every Christmas,
or so the story goes,
the same girl wanders,
crying with a tiny voice.
Will you let her in,
can you end her sorrow?
Look out your window,
she is there right now...
