Samus Aran is an intergalactic bounty hunter and main protagonist of the Metroid series. She lost her parents during a Space Pirate raid on her home planet and was later adopted and raised by the Chozo, who infused their DNA with hers and granted her the Power Suit. Her most iconic suit and the first upgrade she gets in the series is the Varia suit which reduces damage taken and protects her from extreme heat.
