I could of sworn that I saw him.... or did I? Rubbing my eyes, I put the gun back where it was and jumped back into bed. As soon as the light went off, so did my consciousness. Was Adrian really there? This was my final thought as I fell asleep.

Adrian looked at the dark, dank streets of Downtown Ripstin City. Not exactly the safest place, but with the way he worked, safety wasn't a priority. His shoulders swayed as he walked inside the abandoned factory. Small-time criminals played poker at the table, waiting for their next orders.

The fire-starter hadn't had any time to learn their names. Besides, it wasn't like he had a second-in-command among them. Their eyes glanced up at him when he walked past them, then back to their game.

One of the men spoke up, sporting a Brooklyn accent, "Hey, Boss, did ya take care a' dat police dame?" Silence filled the room as Adrian stopped in his tracks.

Adrian's eyes were filled with a malevolent glare as he grabbed the man by his collar, "That 'police dame' has a name. Kathleen Kelly. Age twenty-four and is probably the only police person to ever suspect the nature of my crimes. But, she won't be much of a problem. I have just the plan." With that he threw the henchman to the ground, not expecting any more trouble. The room was silent as the grave until he was completely out of the room.

My eyes stung as sunlight filtered in the blinds of my window. Groaning, I threw my pillow at the source of the light, causing the blinds to open wider. It was the start of another day. I rolled out of bed, getting dressed. Lai laid out on the pillow that was now on the floor, digging his claws into it.

"Hey!" I shouted at him, "Don't rip my pillow to shreds! That's the second one this month!" In response to this, the small kitten yawned and tried to open his tiny little eyes. His strongest attack of cuteness. The one that I always fell for.

I sighed out, "Fine! I'll get another one! But it'll be the last one, I swear it!"

As I was about to stomp out of the room, I noticed something on my floor. Ash. Like ash from a fire. There were also small burn marks in the shape of fingers. That was when I remembered. It wasn't a dream....

Adrain was here. And he knows where I live.
