• It was June 1996, the factory 2 blocks down exploded. Nobody knew it was a toxic waste bin used only for unstable chemicals we thought it was an old toy factory. We never would have guessed otherwise until the explosion. It messed us up really bad the town was turned into a ghost town. I was 2 and the only survivor. I walked over heaps of bloodstained bodies. We were such a remote place that no one really knew about it. No one came when I was stranded among the dead, with no one. I was stuck there for 15 years. Always feeding off the game that was around.
I was a wild child. All those years spent on playing hunter, stunned me when the positions turned. I was now the hunted, not the hunter. It was a typical day going through old drift stores finding clothes that’ll fit, and going back to the rubble I call my home. Cooking something leftover and eating it peacefully. But today I heard a humming noise, a noise I hadn’t heard in years. It was the hum of a car. It was growing louder so I knew it was headed straight for the town. I toward it running like a cheetah. I perched quietly on a rock below a busted window.
“Joel get back here this instant.” a mother’s protective voice yelled.
“Its okay Anna.” a male got out and went to investigate the rubble. “We grew up here, well before we moved away.” the female shook her head.
“I don’t remember this place.” she wasn’t happy to be here.
“I wonder what happened to the house?” the male mumbles and picked up a sign and said. “Hey sis. It was called Yonder Ville.”
I couldn’t see him with his back to me the whole time. He had long black hair, medium height, and all black on.
“What?” the female was terrified “Canton this can’t be. Not this rubble of a place.”
    “I wonder what happened here.”
“Hey sis where are we?” The youngin’ was headed toward my hiding spot. I crept down into a shadow as I heard a faint “nowhere” come from the car. The kid saw a stick sticking out of the ground and went to pick it up. I watched as he pulled it to loosen the rubbles grip. When we pulled it hard enough it gave was to the boys pulling and made him fall. I chuckled as he squealed; the other two came running over to him. I could see the older guys face now. He was very attractive he had blue eyes and a lip piercing.
“What is the matter?” He asked as the boy showed him the bone in his hand. A terrified look came over the girls face.
“I really want to know what happened here.” He looked around “It was such a nice place it all was very kind and happy…” He was last for words.
“You want to know what happened now don’t you?” I stepped out on a dress that was to short for me. They looked at me scrutinizingly, well only the girl did.
“Do you live here?” the older boy named canton asked.
“Yes.” I replied simply and quickly. “Why?”
“I want to know what happened. Are there only adults around?” He started to look around.
“I wouldn’t look if I were you.” He was headed towards the old factory. He covered his mouth and nose. “Don’t open that door!” I growled and ran with inhuman speed to move in front of him covering the door.
“What the? Just let me see.” He tried to move me aside.
“No, it’s part of what happened, part of this town, something no one should witness ever again. No one ever should be exposed again.” I was almost in tears. They were looking at me funny. All of them.
“What’s your name?” the younger one changed the subject.
“I don’t have one.” I said “I just call myself Mythril.”
“How long have you been here?” the girl asked.
“Well all this,” I pointed around “happened in 1996 I was only 2 then.”
“Then you’ve been here for 15 years.” Joel was awed. “What happened to your parents?”
“They worked right next door to the factory and now they are…” I paused for a few. “Dead.” I looked up as 2 more cars came in and parked next to the other car.
“Joel, my man.” a guy from one of the cars said. The boy left and went over to them.
“I’ll tell you what happened if they all keep quiet.” I glanced around nervously as I heard a deep rumbling.
“Ssshh!” Canton said to the others. They quieted some but not all the way. It would have to do for now.
“Follow” I whispered and started to walk. They could barely keep up with me, but they did. As son as we got to my old house, I was the only one that hadn’t fallen, they were quieter than before.
“Who lives in a dump like this?” I heard a prissy girl from the back say. I ran up to her.
“I do!” I was furious. “Haven’t you noticed it’s the only one standing.” nobody dared to talk after that. “SIT” I told them as I went upstairs to check on my food supply.
“We have better make this quick.” I said returning so I told them what happened.
I got up and left as one said “are we supposed to follow or what?”
I was out in the field watching the game that was there. I took my prey, a big buck, by the head and snapped its neck. I was carrying it through the door when a loud rumble came. “darn humans.” I said as I walked in the living room with the deer. They all stared at me. I glanced around and they were all there not one was missing. “Run up the mountains.” I yelled “go.” they were confused. “It’s become unstable again.” they moved at that. I caught Canton by the arm. “Up the mountain and down the other side. There is a cave go all the way down.”
    “Okay!” was all he said.
I slung the deer over my shoulder, grabbed the cooking stuff and ran. I caught up to the little kid in no time; he was out of breath and falling behind. “Hop on.” I demanded and he complied.
    “Mythril?” Joel asked.
    “Yes” I replied.
“How can you run so fast?”
“I don’t know really!” I was confused. “Why?”
“Just wandering.’ he replied lazily and nestled his head into my shoulder blades. I ran up the mountain and was easily catching up to the others.
“You better hurry!” I slowed down so they could keep up. We were now going down the mountain and a big boom sounded from behind us. “Get down” I threw the boy on the ground behind a huge tree. Another boom sounded. The prep squealed as it boomed again. This time the tree I was by collapsed. I hollered in pain. “The cave isn’t far now. Go I’ll be fine” I bit my lip.
“What about Joel?” a Goth like girl asked.
“darn it. I’ll take care of him just get going now.” I yelled
I lifted the tree a little so I could pull Joel under me to protect him. As the storm progressed, another tree slammed on top of us. I felt a lot of pain and wetness. I tried not to let the darkness at the corners of my eyes steal over them. I stayed awake for hours but the storm kept raging on, it wouldn’t end. The darkness was now a tunnel, a tunnel of light to show what I wanted to see. I tried to open my eyes wider but the tunnel narrowed so I could only see a small circle of the outside “go away” I yelled at the darkness. “Leave me alone.” I was going quieter as I spoke. “I don’t need to die ye…” The darkness took over.
