• 1. Introduction
    There was always so much hype about the world ending on December 21, 2012 at 11:11. There was never any hype about what if nothing happened. There was never any word given to the common folk about when the problems began or when the comet was discovered. Apophis was discovered in 2004, but no one worried about it. Life continued as it would always or so they thought.
    Schools were transformed into simple brain transplants of information. You would receive your first brain implant at a very young age, sometimes five years old. A person would receive more implants as time went by, but finished their implants at age seventeen. The brain implant system was like high school, but you never got a diploma. It was only marked in your medical chart and on your ID.
    It was always a bother to locate your ID so the government developed a new system that would keep your ID and money all in check. IDs were implanted in people's wrists so they couldn't ever pretend to be anyone else. There were signals that these IDs transmitted that allowed banks and other places to keep a record of who came and left. This cut down crime by a fraction until another device was created that could mask your signal.
    In 2015, cellular phones became rendered obsolete after the invention of "crystals". A crystal was a small crystal-looking stone you placed in front of you that would project your image and voice to another small stone that someone else had. Crystals did not use towers like cellular phones did and used Satellites. They were solar powered and required very little energy to operate. An ear piece was soon invented to respect people's privacy.
    Two years later, the ear piece was upgraded to not only be a small speaker for your crystal, but to be able to access your computer and find out any information you wanted or needed. It would seem that these ear pieces would read your mind. They were dubbed "mind voices".
    The computer was transformed from a hefty and huge appliance to being able to fit into small contacts that everyone wore. These contacts were more reliable than having a tower unit or laptop so they adapted quickly into the population. They weren't very expensive either so soon everyone had their own "smart eye".
    Automobile vehicles became almost useless after the magnetic poles shifted and forced everyone to a halt. People who hated the new trends had to switch because any old machinery would not work at all. Cars were soon replaced with transporters and everyone had smart eyes, mind voices, and crystals.
