• The father looked up, noticing a flash of light. A young girl, Annabelle’s age, with large, silver cat ears, and a silver tail, walked towards them. He asked as she knelt down in front of him, “W-who are you, miss..?” She looked at him, and whispered softly, "Silver." She leaned down to press her lips to Annabelle’s, and she stared at her face, smiling. Then, she slowly faded away. Annabelle inhaled softly, and opened her eyes.
Annabelle’s eyes were dull for a moment. Then, they shined. Looking up at her father, she asked, “Where’s Silver?"

Her father stared at her, unable to speak. “Father? Where’s my Silver?” “Annabelle.. Baby girl.. Silver..saved your life..” He spoke in a cracking voice. Annabelle’s eyes widened. “No! you’re lying!” She stood and began calling out for her friend. He couldn’t bring himself to his feet, so he just watched her. “Thank you, Silver. If only you could be here with us.”

In darkness, her eyes opened suddenly. “Where am I?” She asked no one. She tried to remember why she was there. A voice quieted her thoughts. “Neko, it seems.” She blinked, realizing that was all she could do. “You are still needed.” “Still needed?” She asked in her mind. “One more wish shall be granted.” She soon felt the rushing feeling of being pushed up to the surface. Once again, she was engulfed by a white light. She tried to shut her eyes against the sudden brightness.

Annabelle stopped at a sound. A sound she seemed to recognize. So, she turned and ran back to her father, where the sound seemed to come from. Her father was staring at a dimming white light a few feet ahead of him. She stopped just behind him, when the light completely dissolved.

The young girl with large , silver neko ears, and a silver tail stood before them, eyes shut. Her ears were pressed back in fear. She was wearing a silver blouse, and a gray plaited skirt, yet she was barefooted. She slowly opened her eyes to see Annabelle and her father gazing at her in awe. She blinked, then ran to Annabelle, and embraced her tightly. “Mistress! You’re okay! I’m okay!” Annabelle stared at her. “Mistress..?” Silver stepped back, and smiled. “Yes!” “Who are you?” Silver’s ears twitched slightly. “I’m Silver.” Annabelle stared at her for a moment, then hugged her. “My Silver is human! Well..sort of.” She laughed. The father finally stood, and hugged them both. “Both of my girls are home.” Silver looked at the man. In his eyes, she saw a flash of a scene, rain pouring down on an one-lamp lighted street, and a young man holding an umbrella over a helpless silver kitten. She smiled. She was home.
