• I have some advice for you, whomever's reading this.

Your point of view isn't the only one.
It doesn't even matter when it's alone.
-- you need the other ones.

    Doesn't matter if you're a drug addict, a monster, a wife-beater, or rapist.
Not if you're a tycoon, the president, or the happiest ******** person on the face of the earth: we're all worms in the end.

When you start to matter is when you accept your own insignificance.
When you realize that everyone else in this big, beautiful, awful world has a voice.
    A story.
When you can truly listen - that's when your voice starts to be heard.
    And listening isn't just hearing,
    Or even understanding.

    It's accepting.

You accept what you hear, and acknowledge the fact that though you may disagree, it doesn't make you right.
But most of all - it doesn't make that "other person" wrong.
    You're just...different people, and that's that.

So do me a favor, whoever you are (madman rapist druggie tycoon president): next time someone talks to you
next time they open themselves up and offer you a part of who they are

    listen.

    Just listen.
    -- that's all I ask.
