The tower stood tall on that September day
Busy with people who worked for their pay
Children nearby playing jump rope and such
The loser of the game, not liking it much
From out of the sky, so blue and calm
Flew the planes to the towers, just like a bomb
Not many survived that day of disaster
Many went on to the great hereafter.

- Title: 9/11 Tribute
- Artist: Shanra the Dragon Bard
- Description: I still remember that day as if it were only yesterday. We were living in Baltimore, Maryland. Halfway between NYC and Wash DC. There were people I worked with who had friends and family working in the towers and some of the children my daughter went to school with had parents who worked at the Pentagon. This is my tribute to the ones who died that horrible day.

- I was far away from danger back then and the whole incident was beyon comprehension, I think. I was in the 7th grade... Great poem Shanra.

- Wow... I mean... Wow...So simple, yet breath taking... I remember, soon as I heard about it when I got home from school I thought the world was ending almost. I lived in Utah at the time and I was in second grade, I also remember it like it was just yesterday. Makes me pissed off that the government had everything to prevent it from happening, they just didn't think it would ever happen... No one did...

- It's great, simple and to the point. Gives me shivers. I was in D.C., and saw the plane hit the Pentagon, and it gives me the same feeling I had then. Horrible.

- I thought the brief and to-the-point format was striking, just as the event itself was striking to all of us who witnessed it, either on television as it happened or in person onsite.

- I'm sorry to hear you were caught in that incident, but the simplicity of the poem really gets your point across. It a good piece of litterateur
