Deck of Deceptions
I try not to think too much about the past
Oh how I wish this pen's ink wouldn't last
Cause then you would never read
About all the pain you put me through
You would never be able to see
That I was made to play the fool
And that night when you walked away
The hardest thing I ever had to do
Was to not run after you
Just stand still with the only sound
Being the wind scraping against the ground
Thinking about how you led me on
And how all my actions were wrong
And all my feelings you hurt
By pulling my heart through the dirt
I thought this time would be an exception
But you still play with a deck of deceptions

- I have to agree with Ivana, the rhyming seems forced.

- It's not original subject matter, and it's not executed well enough to discount that. Besides the unoriginality, my biggest problem with this is the rhyming - it seems very forced. For these reasons, I can't give it any more than two stars.

- I really like this poem. One line I really liked: "But you still play with a deck of deceptions."

- I like this one, depressing, yet playful, in a way.

- Great job balancing the rhymes with the gothic imagery! Usually it gives the poem a silly feeling with rhyming lines but this worked out wonderfully! Last line FTW!
