Cursed by the sun to see her own fate
shared not his love so received only his hate.
She told the men their entire lives,
but always they her ignored her
or laughed in her face.
So she sits alone in her room,
silently cursing the sun
and awaiting her doom.

- Description: This is a short poem summarizing the story of Cassandra. Apollo, who was the god of the sun fell in love with a princess, named Cassandra. He gave her the ability to see the future. This gave her the wisdom to know better than to love a god, which would lead to her demise. This angered Apollo, but gods can’t take back gifts after they've been given, he couldn’t take it back. He did, however, make it so that no one would ever believe her predictions, causing her a lot of grief.
