The bounce in her hair when she walks
each curl its own little spring glistening in the sunlight,
living in her own little world, slightly detached from everyone else
not because she doesn’t care, but because she knows others don’t
Does she notice how I pay attention?
to every little word and phrase that she allows to escape her lips
She keeps a lot hidden from everyone, but I see what it is
I know how she feels, unimportant, unnoticed
The cadence of her walk, her own internal rhythm
Just a beautiful being walking along, minding her own business
lending a helping hand to anyone in need
knowing that if she shows kindness to all she can, maybe someday it will be returned
Does she notice how I pay attention?
to every smile and frown that happens to cross her delicate face
She doesn’t let anyone in that soft shell she’s encompassed in
I know how she feels, unsure, unconfident
The soft song’s rhythm she hums while reading
her own secret song I hope she’ll sometime share with me
to let me into her world, invite me into her secrets
Trust me as a if I were her own, disregarding my entanglement
Does she notice how I pay attention?
To every move and gesture her lovely body expresses
She doesn’t realize how I see her and sense how the feelings are reciprocated
I know how she feels, unwanted, unloved
She is everything that I desire to hold close every night.
She has the heart of a saint, and a body of a goddess.
Yet, I am entangled.
She is everything that I desired to hold every night.
She had the heart of a saint, and a body of a goddess.
Yet, I am entangled.
The callous tone she uses to speak to me
her own expression of the unhappiness that is mirrored between us
not because we no longer care, but because the love is gone
perhaps was never there to begin with
just fabricated out of necessity
Doesn’t she notice how I pay attention?
to how things have changed so dramatically
She doesn’t see how the fragile link between us has broken
I no longer know how she feels
The heartless way she wraps her arms around me
her way of trying to keep a dead, unwanted relationship alive
to keep a semblance of normalcy in our already chaotic lives
despite the feelings are no longer there
Doesn’t she notice how I pay attention?
to the girl that walks on the other side of the hall
that grabs my thoughts by their roots and pulls them towards her
She knows how I feel.
