Thoughts, Self
A silent room, like a silent haven
existent thoughts, words writ and erased
not that of a child, nor considered adult
age beyond age
Prediction, Truth
of experience and nature
voiceless words unspoken
relayed by eye...
peace...
is this peace of mind?
Or merely stasis?
A girl, like a flower
delicate, determined to exist
Glistening surface, divine essence
Gentle, Lost
to want one, to need another
completion.. of heart.. of soul...
Hope, desire
to find a companion
Trust unquestioned
Feelings unanswered
ever patient...
- Title: This Shared Life
- Artist: Raszra
- Description: The first of two poems about living with my first roommate, Dreya; A beautiful Mormon girl who's family was strict enough to disown her for living with me. Emotional distance, though difficult, was important. Her moving in with me was a way for her to "vacation" from the constraints of her extremely religious family. She viewed me as a sort of buffer/guardian, as she explored the side of life that was considered forbidden by her beliefs. The first half is me, the second, her.
