• As I yell at the sky
    Blaming it for my problems
    I come to realise
    and I stare
    Who are you?

I lay in my bed and I stare
I stare at the human shaped thing.

    Monster.

    It rases an arm
    as do I
    and I wonder
    Am I a toy?

    I wake from my sleep
    the monster still visible
    its stringy, gray hair
and the shape of a young one
    it smiles

long sharp teeth are what I face
    its laugh sounds like sirens
    as it crawls closer
    all I do is stare
    the monster is upon me
    but it does not strike

    I thought it scary
as its confused face reflects my dazed one
now it is not so bad

I do not see the monster
    Its long teeth gone.

    A Child

A scared child is what I see
    “Are you mommy?”
    It stares as it speaks
    and I shake my head
    “Where is mommy?”
    It speaks again

    I stare
    “daddy took her away”
    it begins to cry
    “They left me..”
    It fades away
    but I still see it

    that scared child
