This is the story of an innocent girl
The one who couldn't find her place in the world
We'll call her Nancy and we're not gonna judge
She has her reasons for the things that she does
Maybe little Nancy was a brainless pretty face
One who got by on her good looks and automatic grace
She grew up and found her world was hell
And now nothing seemed to go that well
No job, no money, out of luck
She had to go give herself up
Nancy is a dancer, a performer and a whore
She has no way out but she can't do this anymore
A means to an end till the end of her life
Can't somebody, anybody come set things right?
Maybe little Nancy hailed from another broken home
Her daddy ran away leaving Nancy all alone
From class to trash she fell so fast
Running from a troubled past
She's hiding under coloured lights
Unwilling mistress of the night
And through it all she knows this is not as good as life can get
She's been beaten down, she's struggling but she won't give up just yet

I like it.
If you really want critism, then I think "Automatic" has two too many syllables and the last line doesn't quite fit.
But otherwise I really do like this poem! smile

- 'A means to an end till the end if her life' doesn't sound right. but the rest of it is...different. I like it but I started thinking Nancy? like nancy drew b4 the second 1/2 of the poem.
