You smashed my dreams
Took the shards and cut out my soul
There I lay on the ground
My wound only to grow
And you stand over my body
Concealed by an evil glow
Sinister actions amplified by your words
Weakening me blow by blow
But when your assault decayed
And your life drew to a close
I imagine your face, dismayed
A pitiful look I suppose
I was not there
To aid you in your time of despair
I did nothing but let you bleed
I couldn't help you in your time of need
Even though your torture was heavy
I was proud to carry that weight
When your actions broke down my levee
I was never flooded by hate
The weight of my burdens has been lifted
But the price was way too high
With my anchor drawn up, and my future shifted
I'll watch you fade into the sky

Description:
Between me and my mother, we have had very dark times in our relationship, fights that landed her in the hospital, and threats on my life, and countless other depressing situations. Yet and still the saying "you'll never know what you got 'till its gone" holds true.
Here is what I have to say about my mother.

- Wow. That's very deep. I really enjoyed it. Yes, it was dark and gloomy, but there are certain parts that portrayed hope as well it seems. Excellent work. You seem to have an excellent grasp of emotions and consequently this shows in the work.
