"Sonnet in Octo"

• Description: I wrote this poem and posted it, but I lost my account and when I went back I realized I had made a booboo at the end of the poem, so I'm reposting it, with the changes...well just one change.
  
  It's short but you try writing a poem that rhymes AABB with 8 syllables in each of the 8 lines

Dreaming of a hopeful future
Only for a doubtful tenure
Once seeing the glass as half full
Now running from a raging bull
Life starts with such a blissful light
But quickly turns into a fright
Looking to the lofty heavens
Just to go into the ovens

there's all kinda of sonnets, the general rule is 'if its square, its a sonnet' not my words...

I think that it's a solid attempt. I think you nailed the rhyme and the imagery is pretty solid. When you say sonnet, what kind of sonnet are you talking about? As far as I knew, to be considered a sonnet, there had to be certain criteria met. i.e. there had to fourteen lines, there had to be a
"turn" in the eigth line, each line had to have 10 syllables, and whether or not you're doing a Shakespearean sonnet or an Italian sonnet a set rhyme scheme. what form is this?
