Looking me over
Did you want me to see?
I ignore the fact
Just wanted it to be
The way I act
I veil my face
Not wanting them
Such a pointless race
My problems stem
At least you indict
From the fear to commit
Quietly I agree it might
I will admit
They at times look
Like they will suffice
I bite at their hook
Are you worth the price?
Letting down my guard?
Am I just a joke?
Do you care I’m now marred?
I start to choke
I remember their lies
All the same dirt
I shatter the ties
Not wanting to be hurt
That is why I hide
You make it worse
Therefore it’s you I chide

Description:
I just felt like getting stuff out, and thought I would try a poem. This is my first time trying to write one in about four years and I have a problem understanding rhythm and meter (or whatever it is called). So, no I don’t think I am amazing at this or something. Just wanted to see what people thought. Get some feed back on my probably not finished attempt.
Please let me know what you think. - Date: 04/09/2009
