• If I cry you a river of all my confessions,
Would you drown me in the shallows to die?
If I build up a bridge to get over to you,
Would you burn it from the other side?
If I send you a songbird to sing of our troubles,
Would you kill it and and silence its cries?
If I engraved our names in the darkened heavens,
Would you even look up at the sky?

Why do my troubles mean nothing to you,
My cries just an echo of silence?
Can't I be me, does it matter so?
And for anything I do you always lack acceptance.
So please, just once listen to my troubles,
My songs of praise and sometimes, my sobs of sadness.
