Romp,
Stomp.
Snatch,
Catch.
Sunlight dappling the earth,
Warm and soft is the turf
Beneath my padding paws,
And the prey between my jaws.
Proudly,
Loudly,
I am welcomed back.
It's been a thin winter, and the entire pack
Is showing signs of sadness,
Hidden now by gladness,
For we have lost many
Before the days turned sunny.
I am the last
Of the able-bodied cast,
We must wait til summer
To train the pups; bummer.
Is that what you humans say?
I don't care, I'm on my way
Out again to hunt some more,
To fill our stomachs, as we are poor.
The woods, they still need prey to fill them,
We, the wolves, have almost killed them
Ah, how pathetic is that?
When a Wolf must share a human's track.
