    Come dear one,
    Come with me,
    For gone and back
    We soon shall be.

Who am I to trust this entity?
    For I am here,
    Where I shall stay.
To you, I have no debt to pay.

Ah, but child, I am the keeper,
But to you, it’s Mister Reaper.
So take my hand and don’t let go,
Tonight I’ll give you quite the show.

Why should I come upon this night?
Why shouldn’t I attempt to fight?
    I love it here,
Living a life free of trouble and fear.

There is so much to learn
    From what we fear.
    So much to earn,
    If you come near.

If I approach thee, Mister Reaper,
I have the fear I will sink deeper,
    Deeper into my everlasting sorrow,
That I will never see tomorrow.

    Come with me,
    And we shall see,
    Upon this night,
    Of hope and fright.

I suppose you must not mean me any harm,
Or am I just trapped here by your charm?
I will take your hand and fly away,
For I no longer wish to stay.

Away we go, into the skies,
Leaving Earth, the ifs and whys,
We soar above it all, higher and higher,
    Just above the blazing fire.

    What have I done?
    Where have I gone?
Was I wrong to trust this creature—?
Known only as this “Mister Reaper”?

    Oh, sweet child,
    Are you afraid?
We are going where the winds are wild,
    All life decayed.

I do not trust you, Mister Reaper.
I will not travel any deeper.
I wish that you would let me go,
Put me back on Earth below.

There is no going back now.
The show is over, so take a bow.
Your dance with death is coming to an end.
Soon you will begin to descend.

    Please, kind sir,
    I do not understand.
    This night was a blur,
But I met your every demand.

I’m sorry, love, but we are through.
There is nothing more for you to do.
I know that your heart will quickly break,
As it is your life that I will take.

If you must, I suppose you will.
    But I have one need,
I would like you to fulfill.
Please make it quick, and don’t let it bleed.

    As you wish, my dear.
This night has been a pleasure,
Filled with love, and filled with fear.
But now I say goodbye, to a past life’s only treasure…
