I open my eyes
To the darkness of night
I walk to the window
Flooding with light
The moon is full
The snow is bright
I put my hand
To the window
Frozen with ice
Not as cold
As I remember
I go to the door
And the wind
Rushes in
Not as cold
As I remember
I walk out
Into the night
My feet bare
In the snow
Not as cold
As I remember
I look back
To my body
It failed
in its attempt
to keep warm
Now the world
Covered in snow
Is not as cold
As I remember
