• The autumn leaves had long since fallen down
gold, brown, and auburn scattered on the ground
Scattered across the floors of the city
Picked up by the wind, without a faint sound
I stood there waiting, why? I do not know
Perhaps because of the leaves that had glowed.
Like in a fairy tale, they swiveled
Not for people with minds that can't be towed.

I stood there in marvel, mind held captive
the gorgeous remant of things that had lived
The beauty that can be found in simple things
My eyes in trances by the dancing wind
But slowly the beauty died in the leaves
Leaving me then with a sense of unease.
