Quote you, do I, oh bedside theif,
Imprisoned in your quilted sheath:
"For you I come, for only you."
You'd have me think that much is true.
Bedside theif,
Beneath the moon
You pick and pluck
Your wayward tune.
Pleasant knife,
Silent gun.
Your art of verse:
Second to none.
But in the glow of morning dew
the sandman would bid you adieu
And, God forbid should my eyes open
'Tis you and your disguise left broken.

- Title: A Letter to my Nightmares

Description:
I decided to try my hand a sort of 'fairytale' sounding, rhyming poem. It's not my forté but this style seems to be popular here on Gaia.
Just a short poem with the intention of lifting darkened spirits in a bitter-sweet kinda way. It's basically just a cryptic elaboration on the old saying: "It's always darkest before the dawn.".
But, hey-ho, I'll let you be the judge of how it makes you feel. - Date: 01/05/2011
