-
It fell from the sky.
Out of nowhere, right by
My feet, it landed there
On the ground. Where
did it come from?
I cocked my head skyward
And very faintly I heard
A frail voice, right beside me,
A little old woman, only 4'3.
"Coins...Could you spare some?"
No other option at the time,
I gifted her the dime,
and a smile spread quite fast
upon her wrinkled face. Alas,
she left in a flash.
As she shuffled away,
I looked down and prayed,
"May luck be with you."
And then a coin fell for me too,
to the ground, with a crash.
The smile glows in my memory,
like the coin that I kept for eternity.
